they are still at as publicyellowpages.com.  Don't bother talking to these people, its a waste of time.  If you talk to them, they call back three months later saying they have a recorded contract on file.  Then they proceed to play you a doctored recording that appears to show you agreeing to their services.  The longer you talk to them, the more "footage" they can use to make their fake recordings.  Just hang up on them

They called me 6 or 7 times today! They were trying to rope me in but I wasn't falling for it. I hung up on them several times and they keep calling me and harrassing me. So I finally told them that if they called one more time I was going to press harrassment charges. They stopped calling after that! Finally! Don't they know that I have real work to do that is much more important than dealing with their crap! SCAMMERS!

I got a call from 347-410-0489.  An Indian Voice.  Offering a cancellation number to avoid $1000 fee for continuing advertising with Yellow local directory.com  He said that a $499.00 back fee was due to accomplish this.  He was going to transfer me to his suprivisor to get this number.  I asked him for a number to call back.  He said it was only an out bound phone.  I asked if he was from india.  He said reno, Nevada.  He said his name was Paul Smith. I askded for his emplyee number.  He said they don't have such.   I googled The Company name and got a Phone number which doesn't work.  The web sit says that it is out of order. Something wrong with the T-1 line - Give me a break!   I googled the phone number.  It is a cell phone from New York.  When I pressed him for his department, He hung up.  Scam Scam Scam!!!!
I tried calling the number.  It won't go through - some lame error message!

I got the same call and they said they would continue billing me  $299 a year if I did not cancel the account.  They said they would send me  a bill...... I hung up on them.  It's a SCAM.

the same thing happened to me today ,  the man was a jerk, saying he needed to talk to some one in charge, that he was cancelling our yellow page internet add. when he found out that I had no authority, he hung up on me. I am going to put them on the do not call list

Call came in on my home phone at 11:50AM on 8/25/10.  Caller ID was "California".  Connection sounded like overseas.  Woman had heavy accent (Indian/Pakistan?).  She said she received request of us cancelling our local directory (internet?) ad.  We did cancel service with YellowBook about a year ago.  Said she needed my name and she would process the cancellation.  I gave her an erroneous name because I suspected a scam.  She then told me I would be receiving an invoice in the amount of $499.00 for one year's service and she would either need a PO# or payment from me.  I asked her why she was sending me an invoice for a cancelled service.  She said the first year was at no charge and that the fee was for the second year.  I demanded to speak with her supervisor.  She kept directing me to a website which I did not take down and I kept refusing the web address - I wanted to speak with a supervisor.  When I told her I thought this was a scam and that I would do everything in my power to see that they were found out, she hung up.

A guy just called and said his name was Smith. I had no idea that so many people from India, who can barely speak English, have the last name Smith. He said according to his records all my yellow page advertising had been canceled. I goggled his phone number and came up with all these complaints. Pages and pages of negative remarks. Tells you all you need to know. Obviously AVOID!!!!! Liars and cheats.

We received the same scam! Caller wanting to cancel a service we didn't have. Suppose to of had a free first year and the second year was ending at the end of the month. They said they were verifying our wanting to cancel. When we said we definately wanted to cancel because we didn't even know we had it. They transfered me to a Quality control specialist  to verfiy the cancellation and told me the $499.99 invoice would be mailed to us. He gave me a file cancellation #. Is anyone actually getting this invoice in the mail? If so what are you doing?  We have repeatedly call the C/S # 888-509-2994 and have not gotten anyone to answer the phone. The QC man gave me this number so we could call for futher info.

Ugh, I feel your pain.  Have been getting calls from this number every 20 minutes for 2 days.  Just got off the phone with Comcast Customer Service (my service provider).  All you need to do to block the number is pick up your phone, wait for the dial tone, and enter *60.  It will then voice prompt you to 'Turn the Service On' and enter the phone number.  Easy as pie and Comcast told me it's free.  Good luck!

Got a call 6 months ago that my wife answered.  They ask us if we still lived at our address, my wife said yes, ask us if our phone number was the same, my wife said yes.  They asked several other questions and ask my wife if she was the co-owner, she said "sure I guess".  They tried to get her to pay saying it was late, and they wanted a credit card, she said no.  Then they called today and had a recording with my wife's voice saying yes to all these different questions, one of them being are you authorized to accept a $499 charge and her voice saying yes.   If you ask me they doctored the recording, because my wife remembers the call 6 months earlier, because it was so fishy and swears never agreeing to pay charges.  They told me they would also send it to collection, I finally found all these testimonies about the scam and realized they are scam artist's.  If you want to jam up this number sometime or yell at this guy here is the number.

I got the same call in September 2010. In January 2011 I received a call from a collections agent named David Murphy from Yellow Local Directory. I explained to him that the call in September 2010 was for a cancellation; a cancellation for a service no one here ever authorized or subscribed to. He played a recording back with my voice and it sounded like I was authorizing the service. I have filed a complaint with the BBB of Nevada, FTC, and the FBI. The BBB of Nevada informed me they are already aware of similar complaint filed against Yellow Local Directory and the way they alter recorded phone conversations. However, the Nevada address Yellow Local Directory states on their invoice is not a physical address. It is just a virtual office where they receive mail. I encourage you to file a complaint with BBB and FTC. Their sales tactics are deceptive, misleading, dishonest, and a form of extortion. David Murphy's phone number at Yellow Local Directory is (702)410-7616 ext. 408. Sounds like Robert Opperman and David Murphy is operating out of the same office.

I got a call today from a man as well from Yellow Local Directory saying that we owed them $499. I told me he faxed the invoice which I did receive during his call. He said I authorized the service in September. I remember receiving a call in September claiming they have received a cancellation notice. I did know at the time we never subscribed to such service, so I replied yes to the cancellation. They sent me to some verification department and a lady rambled off series of questions which I replied yes to. Well, the call I received today from David Murphy, he played the tape recording back to me supposedly accepting a subscription. I explained to him the call back in September was for a cancellation of a service we never authorized. He stated that the recording is proof that we did. I told him I will be filing a complaint. I filed a complaint with BBB, FTC, and the FBI. I encourage anyone else who has been exposed to this criminal act by Yellow Local Directory to do the same. We received a call saying that we owed for a invoice that was Authorized in Nov 2010 we did not
agree to this advertising now I the owner of a business that closed in Oct. 2007 is being harrased
for this bill. We have checked every Yellow page advertising and there is no listing.  Be aware of
