Called yesterday and today...I didn't answer. Looks fund raiser to me...Amnesty Intl (assume International) I have been on a no call list for YEARS...and I not NOT want to hear from organizations, yet certain ones are allowed to call. I hate the political season...then the robo calls start. Maybe I will answer next time...I will ask to be removed from their list.

called it back and it said Obama for America.  I blocked it using Mr Number ap.

I called the number back and it was the DNC (Democratic National Committee). I told them that I was an OFA supporter (Organizing for Action) and asked them to please take my name and number off their list. They asked for my phone number and told me it would take 12-24 hours to remove it. The person I spoke with was very nice and accommodating. If you don't hear from me again, you'll know that it worked!

Sounds like a scam ring.  Funny that people that it's some big

If they keep this up I answer and tell them I'm calling the police.

The people at this number are currently fundraising for Amnesty International. The caller hung up on me without identifying the organization he was working for, but I phoned back and stayed on hold for quite a long time in order to complain.

9/1:2/12   1:50pm  San Diego, ca   caller display gave the phone #. When I answered, a husky male voice asked for me by name. But since my new phone doesn't seem to work very well inside my house, the call was dropped. or maybe my new phone has an automatic telemarketer hangup feature. wouldn't that be nice.

The telemarketers which include ALL political fundraising machines, because they farm out the work for this, can be blocked using a simple call block device on your phone line, but it MUST have first ring suppression otherwise it will continue driving you mad.  I've had three different phone numbers calling my house now for the last 4 weeks, and they SHOULD NOT be leaving you voicemail if their calling is done by computer, because a lot of us get paged for each and every voicemail message left, even if the message is dead time messaging.  This problem is causd by a computer system which cannot properly determine that your voicemail system is answering and not a live person.

You can find a call block device with frist ring suppression on Amazon, just search for it.  The DON'T CALL REGISTRY is effectively useless unless large numbers of people file lawsuits on each of their cases, otherwise it is just a cost-benefit analysis by the telemarketers.  For cell phones, most service providers now provide selective call blocking.  You can also use Google Voice with port naming to handle your calls.

I just got my first call from this number on my cell. I don't answer calls from #'s I don't know. No msg. I've had a couple similar in the last few months. The last one I started blowing a softball whistle into the phone when I answered. It took a 2-3 tries, but they quit calling. I guess I'll need to find my whistle.

I received a call from this number today for the first time but they did not leave a voice mail.  Like many others, I don't answer calls from numbers I don't recognize.

I keep getting calls from 661-670-2563. They do not leave a message and they call several times a day.

Obviously a scam, try calling them back right after you are called and it goes to a recording saying their offices are closed and to leave a message.

I receive multiple calls every day from this number.  Very annoying.

Receiving calls from this number every 12 hours or so. I don't generally answer the phone when I don't recognize the caller. Caller ID says OBAMA, but anyone could list themselves that way. Curiosity got the better of me, so I answered. They asked for me by name (or close enough) and when I asked who was calling they hung up. This certainly seems like a scam.

They are calling from Citizen for America.  I made a donation and received a phone call.
They want to know if you want to make a large annual contribution or a smaller monthly contributions.
I choose smaller  monthly.

There have been many claims made about who's actually calling and why, most assertions unsupported by evidence of any kind. Setting opinion and conjecture aside, the only cold, hard, irrefutable fact is that Bakersfield is a wasteland.

I suspect this is a scam. Donations to campaigns can be made online or through the mail. These people are posing as campaign workers hoping to get your credit card information. To block a number dial *60 on your phone. This is a call rejection service. It costs nothing. Follow the instructions to turn the service on and to block the number. You can block up to 12 numbers.

Hello everyone, I too have been receiving these calls.  I was reading on another site that in some cases, the caller identified themselves as part of the Obama Fundraising campaign.  This appears to be a scam and if they are from a political campaign, I do believe they are exempt from the Do Not Call registry.

Perhaps we can turn the tides so to speak.  I think we should call the number back and advise the person on the other end that they have won a grand prize of a vaction and that we need their credit card number to confirm the prize.  Put it back on that organization and see how they feel.  I know it won't solve the problem, but at least we would feel better.  :-)  

In all seriousness, it is very frustrating to see the lengths that people will go to to scam other people. The lack of integrity and just plain greed that we see in the world today just amazes me. I feel sorry for those who are driven by such things.  There has to be something we can do.

Last two day have gotten calls from this number (661-670-2563), ?Palmdale area?.  Have not answered.  I have registered my number with the NDNC list.

I got a call today from that same number.  Is this a SCAM or what. Of course they wanted your credit card number for a donation. I told them what fool would give their credit card number over the phone to scam artist?

Demand a "clean number' - they have to give you one. Once you get it, keep it.

Also getting frequent calls from this number...  I (disappointedly) learned recently that political orgs are exempt from the FTC's National Do Not Call Registry, so recourses seem limited.  However, knowledge is power and hopefully will lead us to eventual solutions -- including to block repeat annoyance callers without being charged to do so by our wireless carriers (thanks for nothing, AT&T)!

In the meantime, I'm still confused if anyone has truly sussed whether or not this robocall outfit is actually associated with Democratic fundraising orgs, or is attempting to annoy/spam on behalf of the opposition as ArlanDo claims... surely there must be a way to find out the true owner/source of these phone calls, no?  (I realize that political groups often use misleading names in order to obscure their motivations.)

So: Can anyone shed light on the origins of "Owner Services Group" or "[Obama for America] Team 2012", if those dba's are behind these calls?  Quick searches have been fruitless so far.
