Never give out your credit card number or other identification info to callers. If you want to donate, look up and call the organization's number yourself or find their website online and donate through it. Too many people now have phones that will let them spoof another number, enabling scammers to get you to give them your card info.
I just got a call from this number myself and did not answer as Caller ID did not ID.

Called in the afternoon on 7/1/2013. Phone rang 2 times and then they
hung up. Caller ID said Humane Society. Yeah right!

Called at 1:04 pm and hung up after 2 rings. Caller ID said 661-670-2607
Humane Society. They have done this many times in the past year. I do
donate to the US Humane Society, but only through their direct mail, never
over the phone.

My caller ID says Humane Society. I have been getting calls every couple of day. I never answer. There are 100s of Humane Societies in the United States. They have no connection to each other and they all have those two words in them along with another word before or after. I was curious and called them back. I asked which humane society they are representing. The woman said The Humane Society of the United States. That's the biggest one and I do support what they do, sometimes with money, sometimes not. But I don't donate based on phone calls. I asked to be removed from the list and she said it would take 12 to 24 hours. Time will tell.

when I answer the line goes dead and they've never left a message. Caller ID says: "Humane Society".

thanks for telling me who it is. I just donated to Humane Society a few bucks but I really can't afford to do it regularly. I'm below poverty level person. so I don't want to be solicited to donate again and my number is on the do not call list, but I suppose, if you donate once, they think that does not apply to the charities you subscribe to. Humane Society solicitors, I'm the one pays your wages, so you must find out who has the money to give now, please don't call me.

I just got a call from 661-670-2607, no name listed on the caller ID. They identified themselves as Donor Services Group calling for the Humane Society. They wanted me to up my monthly donation, they had my information correct, but couldn't just increase my monthly donation, they wanted my credit card information again because I would be making a new monthly donation to the Honor Roll.
The script the telemarketer was using was very bad, or she wasn't well trained.
I like the Humane Society, but they do spend too much of their money raising more money. If Donor Services Group calls again I will ask them to not call again. A second call and I will speak to a supervisor about legal action
I do not doubt they are a legitimate business, I just question how much they would keep of my donation.

Just last night I set some mail from the HSUS on my wife's side table. Then I see all these comments about nagging phone calls. So, I just went to check and see if she opened her HSUS mail. She hadn't. I told her about the nagging phone calls others were receiving. She tore the HSUS mail in half and put it in the shredder. See? This is what happens when organizations nag the living hell out of folks over the phone. It has an effect on their regular snail mail donors. My wife commented "It's easy to scratch them off my list. We needed to cut back on donations anyway in this economy."

This is the THIRD day in a row for these calls. Time for Vinny to terminate some HSUS or DONOR SVC. GROUP scammers.

Hey. Thanks so much for calling again just about 24 hours later. Wasn't it enough that I ran over half a dozen of my neighbors' pets yesterday? Yeah. I went over my admitted three pets. But, guess what. You called again. And, I believe I can improve on yesterday's numbers. So, in about half an hour.....I want to keep a schedule going......I'll be putting the squash machine 'Vinny's Van' into action AGAIN. Gosh, yesterday was so much fun. I imagine today's poodle punisher time will be as enjoyable. Here's hoping to hear from you folks tomorrow. I like this new hobby. You just keep giving me reason to control my local pet population and grease the roads with their guts. Works for me. Hope to hear from you again real soon.

Humane Society? Yeah. I used to give. Not anymore. Why? Nagging phone calls. And, in honor of today's call.............I'm going to run over three dogs or cats in my neighborhood. Thanks for the reminder Humane Society. Every time I get another call from you, I'll go run over another three pets.

Up until last week my family donated every month via regular mail. Today changes all of that. I'm tired of the solicitation calls. From here on out I'll donate a $1 or two at the pet shops. But, the previous monthly checks are now history. They did it to themselves.

I've always liked the Humane Society and so many OTHER charities. But the barrage of calls and mail, a lot of it the same or much-repeated (some of them from scammers, pranksters, thieves, and whoever else...) is extremely draining--as if life isn't tough enough. Got yet ANOTHER call from "Humane Society,: real or not: despite telling them to stop calling. (661) 670-2607. Nothing helps. Why can't people live and let live? Folks do their best in this world. Things have always been bad in life (blessings as well, I realize). But technology has gotten out of hand. One day and night leads into another anymore. The faster you try to get things done, lately it just goes so fast. I don't know about others, but automated systems, ever-expanding, confusing technology uses one's life up at times. And it's everywhere...doctors, police, politicians, friends, family, restaurants and other companies...everyone's human and have lives. But who to trust? Everyone tells you different things; things don't work right (or work as folks are advised to do). Who has time to do everything? End of speech. Thanks.

These people are relentless! I used to give monthly, but I can't afford it right now. I told them to call me back in six months to see if my financial situation had changed by then. In the meantime, I checked out charitynavigator.org. The Humane Society of the United States has a five-star rating. HOWEVER, the phone number listed on charitynavigator.org is an entirely different phone number in Washington D.C. I don't know who is calling from the 661 area code, but I'm sure glad I didn't give them my credit card number!

Every SINGLE day i get 4 to 6 calls from this number, I will never donate to HSUS again if this is what they do with information
Tina 2012-03-01 01:47:11 Unknown
They call me everyday. I used to donate to Humane Society, but can't afford to do so anymore. I never gave them my phone # or permission to call me.

Caller ID said Humane Society but they hung up on me. It originated in Castaic, CA.

Calls my house every single day. I have them blocked but the amount of calls made from this number is insane.

My mother was a very generous donor to the humane society before her passing. They have called every day for 3 weeks. I tell them my mother has passed away and please remove her from their calling list. Apparently my request meant to them "Please call 4 or 5 times a day everyday." How do I stop this? Blow a whistle in the phone every time they call?
Pat 2011-12-11 20:18:07 Unknown
Called me 4 times already today Sunday
Amber Knight 2011-11-30 00:35:27 Non-profit Organization
I wish to add that this was about the fifth call in the last couple weeks, and that like others above me, I had already requested to not be called. I was a donor but am now less inclined. Telemarketing calls are invasive whether non-profit or otherwise. It is spam. They have my permission to email but not to call.
Amber Knight 2011-11-30 00:31:53 Non-profit Organization
Please do not call me. We communicate via email and that is all I wish. Thank you.
