Yes, this is legit. They are from MSDN, however their automated dialer is very slow to connect to an operator. Indeed, I am an MSDN subscriber, yes it needed to be renewed, I did it online, but their system was slow to update. It's legit.

I started getting these calls about 2 months before I renewed my subscripton. Finally waited long enough to get a person who tried to sell me an MSDN renewal. The calls have not stopped even though I have renewed.

VERY annoying - this number calls multiple times a day and when you do pick up, it hangs up. When they attempt to leave a msg on the machine, again, no mesg, just a dial tone...I called the number, they are in fact, trying to renew a subscription....if this is happening to you, please call them and get a manager on the phone for them to realize that this is annoying and not the way to conjure up business - I can't believe they haven't fixed this problem since it seems to have been happening for over 3 years!

Got a call at 1:10 pm from Bertelsman Medi...no human replied, just music. Very annoying.
RandyB 2012-06-28 18:54:37 Unknown
Been called several times now over the past few days--music, but no one answers. Is probably from Microsoft MSDN as my subscription is up in a month.
Nancy 2012-06-13 18:09:04 Unknown
Got music also, it sounded like they switched to music as soon as they heard me answer.
Doubt it's still Microsoft since that was 3 years ago.

Got a couple today from this number. CLAIMS to be Microsoft reminding me of my expired MSDN subscription. But I haven't had one for years.

6617022906 left me a message to renew my MSDN subscription, strange it only espired 3 years ago and now they are contacting me.

My receptionist forwarded the call to my extension, which went to voicemail. Have a 15second message of someone talking with a heavy accent to someone else. No vociemail let. If this is Microsoft, it is very unprofessional. They should consider training thier people, or using a service based in the US.

Same number, no message.. nothing. Answered the phone, heard 3 beeps and the phone autolocked.
Tony 2011-06-06 20:53:54 Unknown
Same thing. I have been getting this on my business phone now for about 2 weeks. Lately it is anywhere from 2-4 times a day. I've only answered it twice out of curiousity and both times it was music only.
Michael 2011-06-06 20:53:54 Unknown
Update: Called TechNet renewal and they updated my account to renewed so the calling will stop. It is an autodial and is supposed to leave a message but it fails on some voicemail system for whatever reason.
Michael 2011-06-06 20:53:54 Unknown
Same here but coming in on 661-702-2905. It is Microsoft MSDN/TechNet renewal center.

Caller ID shows "Bertelsman Medi"- call at 1111am- just heard hold music, so I hung up- no human replied to me.
XtinaS 2010-12-03 18:17:30 Unknown
Yup -- music, then silence, then someone from Microsoft asking for the owner.

Funny... I didn't answer, so the call was redirected to my voice mail. I got a massage which consisted of 20 seconds of music, followed by an agent saying "hello?" and hanging up. This predictive dialer clearly sucks.
Like other posters, I do have an MSDN subscription and already renewed it a little while ago. Call centers call their lead lists based on the info they were provided by their client (Microsoft in this case). Their database is not directly connected to MS and is not refreshed in real time (if at all). It is understandable that the call center may not be aware that my subscription was renewed.... but still, their dialer sucks...

Someone from Micrsoft cold calling...
Kelly in Pittsburgh 2009-09-16 19:07:59 Unknown
Got a call from the same number-- also music for a few seconds, then the call disconnected. I don't have an MSDN subscription, only TechNet (which doesn't expire til next spring). WTH?
Tony in Illinois 2009-09-04 19:30:47 Unknown
I've never listened to the music long enough to get a human, but now that I read these, I realize it must be for MSDN revewal, which expires at the end of this month.

Claim to be from Microsoft to sell MSDN subscription. They are not Microsoft. They have been calling multiple times a day for a couple of weeks now. I've told them in no uncertain terms to stop calling, numerous times, but they just keep on calling.
Does anyone know who the company is so I can get hold of someone other than the robo-drones?
Ray in California 2009-06-18 22:43:19 Telemarketer
Same here, music and no info but after 2 1/2 minutes an agent came on and tried to sell me MSDN. He never denied not being from Microsoft and I told him if he was from Microsoft that he would know I renewed months ago.
Christian Jensen 2009-06-18 20:22:14 Unknown
I can confirm that this is a busted predictive dialer for MSDN subscription renewals.
Don in California 2009-06-18 18:06:54 Telemarketer
Didn't answer. They left a message. Selling MSDN subscription renewal.
Ken 2009-05-30 00:07:18 Unknown
Background music only when call answered. Nobody responded to numerous hello queries.
