The first time I received a call from these "wackados," I was told that I am being prosecuted for various scary and SERIOUS SOUNDING charges. A broken English speaking foreign individual with a common American name (What the....?) proceeds to tell me that "if I do not have my attorney call them by the following day, I would be arrested at my place of employment on Monday." When I asked what the charges were in reference to, he told me for a "pay day loan" I received and did not pay back!!! That sound familiar? When I requested pertinent information like uh, the said loan amount, payment schedule and amounts, first payment due date, etc., the "Coo Coo Puff" claimed that this information was not provided on the "Affidavit." Seriously? I have unfortunately applied, received and successfully paid previous pay day loans in the past. It seems that this is how these people have gained access to enough of my private information to literally wreak havoc upon my already crazy life. I have received countless vile, threatening voicemails from them. I have subsequently changed my cell phone number as well as bank accounts. Consequently this past week these shameless heaps of human waste have now reduced themselves to terrorizing me at my place of employment. From approximately 10am to noonish several different scam reps called no less than 8X's!!! WHO ARE THESE SLUGS AND WHY & HOW ARE THEY CONTINUALLY SUCCEEDING AT BRINGING ABOUT SO MUCH DEVESTATION AND ILL-WILL??!! This has to stop. If anyone reading my comment can provide me with advice or suggestion, such a kind and sincere gesture would be a welcoming reprieve from the disgusting crap I have been enduring. Peace among men and nation.

These people continuously call looking for and threatening someone else that has obviously given them the wrong number. I have repeatedly tried to explain to these people that they have the wrong number and the simply hang up on me. They are the most stupid people I have ever heard try to pursue collections in my life! It's a wonder they are even retained for collections.. Dumb a***s can't even figure out when they have the wrong number!

This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information from unscrupulous websites like the one you may have filled out an application with, and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.

ABC News released an investigative report on this scam in June. The FTC has indicted one of its ringleaders for criminal fraud:

Pull your credit report. Your identity may have been stolen. Hackers have recently stolen SC taxpayers' information and are selling them on the black market.

I received several calls from this person on both my cell and work phones.  I  submitted the name he was using (Samuel Gonzalez) and the number he was calling from to ic3.gov then the next time he called me he left a message that I was avoiding him and I was going to be in a "big legal mess" if I didn't call him back.  By that time I had had enough of middle eastern Samuel Gonzalez and let him know that I had reported his fictitious name and number, that I knew he was just trying to run a scam on folks and I was not falling for it.  He actually called me again and said"You know we are scammers, right?"  I replied that I did in fact know he was and told him where he could go and hung up.  He called again and said "Sorry".  I have had enough of these jerks trying to steal from hard working honest people and they have got to be stopped.  How many innocent people have they scammed or threatened with intimidation?  They read from a script and it is the same each and every time. Folks, don't let these jerks intimidate or threaten you. Never agree to send them money.  Make them tell you who, what, when and where.

Same as Bob above. "Samuel Gonzales with law office. Severe actions were going to be taken against me." Told him to send all documents via US Mail and hung up.
He then called back. Blocked the number.

This number has called my cell phone and my work extension leaving messages claiming I'll be in a big legal mess if I don't return their call. Go to ic3.gov and report it. That's the website for the FBI's Internet Crimes Division. Next time this guy calls, I'll pick up and tell him I've reported him to the FBI, and I bet these calls will stop.
