I'm out of Oklahoma City and received the same text. Never posted on any resume sites. Hell I've never put my number on. Facebook or any other site. My only guess is our respected carriers networks have been compromised within our region. Also may not be related but a month ago I received a message on facebook from my aunt telling me I bet you don't. Remember this picture" it ended up being a false link and when I called my aunt about it she said her account had been hacked.

Same thing. I too have posted on job sites. Wonder if there's a correlation.

just got a text from this number that said "Hey (my name)..." I asked who it was and no response yet. The weird thing is that the name they used is my nick name, not anything that is on any account of mine. The only place I have posted with my nick name is my resume on job web sites like CareerBuilder.com, Indeed.com, and Simplyhired.com. Which also has my cell number on it. Any one else post their resume and get a weird text?

Security company Cloudmark created a spam messaging reporting service that nation?s major wireless carriers agreed earlier this year to start using. Now, customers of AT&T Mobility, Verizon Wireless, T-Mobile, Sprint and others can forward their text spam message to 7726. The mobile phone carrier will ask customers for the phone number that?s linked to the spam message so they and Cloudmark can start investigating.
