This is very infuriating! What's worse is that someone has used MY mobile number for THEIR mobile email. I am NOT connected to any of these advertised websites (Monster, Yahoo, eHarmony) and with no way to stop it I'm just going to continue to get worthless annoying emails?! I hate the very idea of that! I'll take Helper's suggestion and talk to Verizon.
I had the same problem. What you have to do is turn off the alerts in your mobile email on your phone. if you have already deleted your mobile email account, then you need to re-subscribe to mobile email and then change your alert settings to never. Verizon helped me fix this problem after about 4 hours of investigation. They also gave me a credit for the newly downloaded mobile email feature
Annoyed w/ unwanted TXTs
Same thing just started for me 48hrs ago. I noticed all the TXTs were same as emails in my Hotmail Inbox (as other responder mentioned). Within my Hotmail/MSN account, there was a MSN Mobile setting from MANY years ago when I set up some specific News alerts I get each morning. I just went in and deleted my News alerts (can get them now thru cell company) & I deleted my entire MSN Mobile info and hope the TXTs will now stop. *fingers crossed* I hope yours was resolved as well.
It is an email alert from a place like HOTMAIL. You probably set them up and forgot. I get the alerts too but there is always an email in my inbox that corresponds.
I receive text messeges at all hours from the same number. They are ads for several companies (Walmart, Overstock, etc...). If anyone knows how to stop this please post it. Cel company does not know how to stop it either.
