Debt Collector
I had paid off these shmucks months ago on a debt that I thought I had paid off earlier.  After paying and being assured they would mail me a paid on full notice they did no such thing.  Now they are blowing up my phone, calling multiple times per day, calling between 7 am and 10 pm my time, trying to threaten me by telling me my litigation number and that I "need to contact us today to resolve this matter".

I have another scam artist contacted me telling me that they are going to serve me papers today.  They have called and left that same message for months, no server ever calls ahead of time to serve papers.

I am so tired of these scam artists.  They always refuse to verify the debt, always coming up with some excuse as to why they don't need to do that.  Unless a company sends you a letter in the mail verifying the debt do not pay them anything.

My spouse and I are having similar incidents but the number has changed to 678-205-8825.  The Caller's name is Mr. Poole from the same company.  We are being threatened with a lawsuit but if we pay the initial amount of the "said" loan, no interest will be charged.  Mr. Poole called my residence and left a message with my family and when I contacted him to discuss the matter I was at work at this time and asked him to email me a copy of the debt for review.  I was able to open the document.  Somehow they have all my spouses information in complete detail; however, in the past, our mail has been intercepted and never arrived so I can see how this information could have been obtained.  This seems to originate in Norcross, GA. The event happened today 7/26/2013. I think I will have to change my phone number now.

In March I get a call from Federal Asset solutions that said I had been turned over to their company for not paying off a pay day loan that I obtained in March of 2010.  Now I did however receive a loan but I paid it off. However I had no proof.  Me being concern with my credit and i did obtain the loan around that time said I will pay the 730.00 the loan was originally 300 but interest.  so I paid off the Loan and arbitrator Brown sent me the paid in full letter through email even though it took several times of me asking to get it.  I thought that was the end of it.  well here 4 months later they are trying to collect on the same debt.  told them I have the letter via email to prove that the debt was paid and I sent it via fax several times in which their saying that they did not receive ask for a mailing address but refused to give it to me.  Now I am pissed off this is a shady company and I advise anyone not to pay these people unless you get something in writing or you will be out money as I am.

Check out their fabulous website, http://federalassettsolutions.com/ .  One really has to wonder at the educational level these geniuses have achieved...the last time I checked, "Asset" only has one "t".

But it gets better, folks...look at the opening paragraph of this fine, one-page website..."FAS files Litigation Claims, only if debtors fail to voluntarily  arrange a reasonable consolidation of their outstanding debt."  What, exactly, is a "Litigation Claim"?  I know what a small claims action is, which is the category any payday loan would fall into, and I know what litigation means, but a "Litigation Claim"?

But the worst part is the 2nd paragraph, where they tell you what FNA is..."FNA is an arm of Federal Assett Solutions.  FNA is responsible for defending the claim for the accused...."

Wait a minute...you mean that this guy that calls and pretends to be "Investigator Whoever" is going to defend the alleged debtor?  Everyone should breathe a huge sigh of relief now...Whew...we feel better already.  But wait, there's more..."However, if  a settlement is not reached, FNA is also the Dept. that will facilitate court orders, subpoenas, summons, and all other legal actions."  Now I'm really confused...how does one facilitate court orders, subpoenas, and summons?  Aren't they issued by the court, and served by either a deputy or constable, depending on your jurisdiction?  Exactly how do they "facilitate" any of this?

This type of organization is nothing but a scam.

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:
Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.

Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.

Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft ? charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.

Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate ? but you think the collector may not be ? contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.

Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.>

Hey schmuck.  You probably work for the scammers people are talking about.  A LEGIT collection agency will send via MAIL a collection notice, not illegally threaten people about debts that do not exsist.

I received several calls from this place also. I keep asking to be mailed any documentation to state what i owe and who i owe.  Investigation Nathan Cross keeps saying well i cant do that, i ask why and he states that its not a debt.  I said well you said I owe money to someone right, well its a debt.  He refused to send me the information by mail.  I am not going to pay an agency without getting a bill or letter explaining my options...and he did not explain my repayment options either. Had the nerve to tell me I have until 2pm today...to do what?  I am getting ready to look them up and report them to BBB. Money is difficult to come by and I will not pay without having it in writing. Thanks for your post.

They asked for a Isaiah Cooper (or Coop). I don't know who this is. I've been getting calls for a few years asking for this person, probably from this same number. I've told them to stop calling me in the past, but they're calling again, asking for "Isaiah Cooper".

My husband received a call yesterday and I also told him it had to be bogus.

Anyone hear about Office of Progressive or RCL Finance? I never had a loan out for a certain amount from RCL Finance and they are looking at something that happened back in 2010 - which I know did not happen.

They called my husband at home and were looking for me with a name I  haven't used in 4 years. I told him it sounds like a scam and the person on the line threatened to subpoena me and take me to court unless he paid $1,000. My husband asked for them to send us the bill in writing and he was told the office didn't have to because he spoke to my husband on the phone.

My husband called me at work and I told him that person violated a lot of laws and it is a scam. The number is 888-368-0343 and from a Randall Mitchell. I called the number but not the extension and it just simply says Office of Progressive. I can't find a business by that name via Google at all.

Like I said, it has to be a scam....cannot even find RCL Financial either.

A relative of mine just got a call from a man stating his name is Mr. Turner and gave my relative, the call back # of 1-888-368-0343 (not sure of his incoming #), he wouldn't say whom he was with but mentioned a case # to my relative and his extension, 517.  He told her he was trying to reach me before the case goes to court and that I had a bad check and that the cops would be after me.

I am no dummy and have sense enough to know that if I had a check that didn't get processed for whatever reason, first of all, I would have been notified by mail if it had been legitimate and second if it was legit I would already have notice of a court hearing, etc.  This has to be another scam as I have had several collectors trying to harrass me over  the years and they seem to be getting bolder and bolder upon what they believe they can say to people, which they know is illegal.  If you have had the same by this person, report them to the FCC first, then BBB,  I intend to get my attorney involved just like the person above, if this doesn't stop and if he doesn't stop harrassing my family members.

I received a call from a Mr. Turner with Federal Asset Solutions today saying that he has a civil suit against me for 2 bad checks from 2009 and that I need to clear this up.  I asked him to provide me with proof of this  so that I could turn it into my attorney.  He asked if I was planning on filing Bankruptcy or Fighting this and I said I have an attorney and I want them to look over this since I knew nothing about it.  I gave him my e-mail address to sent the paper work to back this up and with in 15 minutes I received 2 emails from him saying that my account is now PAID IN FULL as on 3/27/12 and that I will no longer hear from this company.  This is such a scam !  I guess when you call their bluff the bill gets paid off.

unfortunately federal assett solutions ("investigator weiss") were able to get my money a few months back.  i also had arrangements set up with another place before realizing both were SCAMS only after receiving yet another call from another place this week to collect!  i know i had 2-3 payday loans in the past but thought they had all been paid, but certainly not 8 like this 3rd place said i did.  i decided to google all these collectors they said they were with and BAM i felt like such an idiot for paying these people, i couldn't believe what i was reading, my story was just like all the rest!  luckily i didn't give them my bank account info. just my debit card number so i canceled that this week and the 2nd collector will not get anymore of my money , 3rd collector will not get ANYTHING! the 2nd collector called me after the payment couldnt be processed and i told them "i know that it couldn't and you won't be getting anymore of my money because i found my bank statements and no money was ever deposited into my account on the date you said "your client" deposited money" they told me to "gather your little paperwork together because i will process this for nonpayment" i tried to get a word in but couldn't.
so beside federal assett solutions, watch out for calls from Mauconduit Luna LLC and Premier Accquitions, Federal assett said the represented CMG Group LLC and Mauconduit was SSM or something and Premier was MTE financial.  only Mauconduit would tell me deposit dates (that were apparently wrong)
btw i received a letter from federal asset saying i paid in full
the address on the letter was

I have been receiving calls from this company asking for my father. My father lives four states away from me! We don't usually answer out of area calls but I did when someone named "investigator Roberson" started leaving a message on our answering machine. He said my dad's name so I picked up....I told him he does not reside here nor has he ever. I didn't give him any of my dads info...told him to find it himself.

Do you know I came home to a full message today from this jack wagon? I called the number back and left a voicemail reaming him out. I told him to NEVER call me again about whatever the heck my dad has going on. UGH. This is ridiculous! I really hope he does call back and I can talk to him in person bc I'm furious.

I have been having the same issue- An inspector "Warden" contacted my brother in NH, my sister in NY and then when i called him back to find out the details (he was calling for a debt my husband supposedly owed through Commerce Bank), he used that number to call me back two days later-and it was my work phone! He was also trying to "help me out before litigation". He also said he ran a criminal background check on my husband (which I know is illegal without written consent) and gave out all kinds of info on him without even verifying if i was really his wife. I plan on contacting him today and telling him to back off or THEYRE going to be hearing from MY lawyer.

Well now you know for sure it's a fake. First of all no type of unpaid bill is warranted for an arrest. This would be a civil lawsuit and not criminal. Call your local police departmrnt yourself. Once they start making threats not only are they commiting a harrassment crime but they've become desperate to get your money. Tell them you have they're number and will give it to the police fraud department for review. And tell them to cease and desist!
