keep getting calls; hang up if answer, or leave no message on machine

CBE has been calling me from various number this past week.  I'm on the Do Not Call LIst, and I have no debt with anyone and certainly have never had any bad debt.  I report them ever time they call.  I also have call block on my phone which is very nice.  I do find it amazing these people don't go out of business though, they insist on calling the wrong people continually, I can't imagine they ever collect any debts.  Idiots.

CBE Group.  Old debt collection company who tries to scare you.  Do NOT answer -- they won't believe it's not you they are looking for, and if it is you then any information you give them will be used against you.  They have NO power if the statute of limitations has run out (4 - 6 years, depends on the state).  But if you pay even 1 cent towards the old debt, then the clock starts again and it's a "new" debt because you have acknowledged it at this point in time.

Just get a call blocking app for your cell phone and use it.

calling regularly for someone with my name as a last name. Never leave a message and I have told them I am not who they are looking for.  STOP CALLING ME!!

Got the app "Call Filter Pro" for my Android phone and no more annoying calls...

I get tons of phone calls in a day. I finally called just now and yes like you others it says CBE or something and its the wrong name they are looking for. I went through the prompts and it doesnt say much of anything. I dont owe any money to anyone so it has to be a scam. My credit is good and nothing in collections ever. So it has to be a scam. ugh how annoying. I got a call blocker off the market list and now thats catching all the calls, doesnt allow them to leave a message or hear my voicemail and they still call.

That is harrassment and there are laws against it. It is a collection agency and there are laws against them using your phone to harrass you by making it ring over and over. I'd look into filing charges if I were you.

Collection Company.   They call over and over again even when asked not to.  They accuse you of being the person they are asking for even when you aren't.  They will resort to threats and cursing in an effort to get you to admit you are someone you are not.  One operator said they would send someone to my house to inspect the premises for the individual in question.  I told them to hurry up because the fourth amendment doesn't have all day.  

What these people are doing is very very illegal.

I signed up for the do not call list (state and federal).

File a complaint with the FCC.

Form 1088G is used for abandoned calls to your wireless communication device (that's when they call your cell phone & request that you hold for CBE and the call is terminated without connecting you with a live operator).  You can complete the form online - I got to it when I went to the GA Attorney General's Office website to file a complaint for nuisance telemarketing calls from a 678 area code.

Some people carry cell phones for emergency calls only - nobody needs to deal with this garbage.  Let the Big Dogs run these clowns off.

People like thse guys get laid off and then buy a book that tells them how to make money collecting debt. Tells them they can get rich quick picking up what no one else could get not even the compay who wrote it off. They all get dollar signs in thier eyes and start calling. Others call and send letters in the mail.

DO NOT GIVE  THEM ANYTHING!!!!!  EVER. If you ever let one of these guy sscare you into making any pament at all. then it open up the account and you are responsible to pay it. I don't ever answer the phone anymore unless I know who it is. I have several people calling. Old things I had written off and for the people who had my number before me 8 years ago.

I have the ringer on my phone turned off and just let the machine pick up. They never leave a message, and won't. They have been calling my house for about 6 months now. I never aswer.

this group keeps calling , it comes up on my caller ID, never leave messages. or talk if you pick up.

These people hound you everyday.  At work, during business hours, at home during sleeping hours, and on your cell phone.  Please make them stop.

I agree they are calling me at least 3-5 times a day especially in the am.  Once they left a message and they were looking for a William R. There is no William R. at my number.  Stop these calls please. I am on the Do Not Call Registry and renew every year.  Thank you.

I have no idea why these constant telephone calls keep coming.  They never leave a message to verify who they are.  What can be done to stop this harrassement?  I have no debts!

These type of calls should immediately stopped.  However, our government continues them to call. It is clear to me these people are being paid to harrass people and this should not be allowed.

This number call many times per day. They're looking for William R... I did tell them that "you got wrong phone number, Please take my number out of your list", but they are still calling me.

I received a call from this number and I answered it and they asked for someone else... However the person they asked for is actually the same person that I have other collections calls for in the past, but with the other calls they were from an 800 number.....

I have told the 800 number poeple that there is nobody at this number with this name and to delete my phone number from her contact information... I have had my phone number for over 10 years.....

Anyway, this was the first time I received a call from a non 800 number and this really concerns me... I don't want to receive these calls, it is a waist of my time.

calls repeatedly and leaves no message or return number

Been getting several calls for a few weeks.  Never leaves a message.

I just received a call from whoever this is about 2 minutes ago. I answered. Nobody responded and they hung up immediately.

They call me but are looking for the wrong person.  Ive started answering the phone but muting it, causing them to pay for the call instead of it going unanswered and free.  If you are going to wrongly harass me at least pay for it!

as of right now they have called 14 times in 2 minutes, make that 15. I do not know these people and it's ticking me off... and there is the 16th and 17th call... and my phone is shutting down due to low battery. This is PURE harrassment!!! And another one for 18..... HELP

I don't know who is calling and won't answer.  If they won't leave a message then they do not want to talk very badly.

Are any of your husbands deployed and is it possible they are calling from this number. Got a call this morning and I am waiting for a call.
