I've been getting these calls from Iowa (319)242-7350 and (515)954-7695 saying it's the CBC Group

I just read this page as i was waiting on hold, (and thank you all). After 3 days of this nonstop calling i finally waited on hold for more than 5 minutes to give this jack*** a piece of my mine. They always call while I'm at work or school or at 8am, so after 3 minutes or so of being on hold I give up. What kind of company calls prior to 9am, or calls you, and then puts you on hold anyways??

regardless, I told this guy that I was recording this conversation, and if her didn't stop harassing me, I will be taking my call history and this recorded message to my lawyer. He apologized real quick, and claims that I will be taken off of his list, since he obviously has the wrong person. Damn right you have the wrong person.

Jesse just called my parents and my sister, along with my boyfriend. Telling them all my case is "red flagged for fraud". I dept collector never deals with fraud. Lawyers and the IRS deal with fraud and usually with an investigation, they don't tell the person or the family they are being investigated.

It's a scam to get you on the phone.

This guy (Jesse Ferrar or Farrah) has called me numerous times for the past year claiming he has my case as a dept collector and he wants to get a hold of me. Today when he called he told me on the voicemail that he has my case and it's been "red flagged for fraud". That's total b***s***. I have never done anything fraudulent even thought I know I am thousands of dollars in dept from not having a job to pay the bills. He just wants me to call him back. He even somehow got a hold of my boyfriend's cell phone number and called him from a kentucky number, where we live. Jesse told my boyfriend I'm being investigated for fraud. They aren't supposed to give out that kind of information. Fraud is extremely hard to proof because the person accused has to have maliciously falsified something for their personal gain. I've never done that. I just haven't paid my bills...

Dept collectors will say anything now to get you to respond to their calls.

I have been receiving calls from these people nearly 4-6 times a day for the past month. I never answer calls from numbers that I don't know, so I just let it goto voicemail. And not only do they NOT leave a message, but my phone (iPhone 4) says that they are calling from Georgia! I have had "run ins" with so called "Collection Agencies" like this before and have found a few things out.
1: They BUY your information from "Back Alley" Sellers who get it from Legit Collection Agencies once a case is Settled, Closed, or Charged Off your Credit Report. Their info isn't always up to date, so sometimes when they call for someone else it's because that is who had the number when the file on it was made.
2: They use Outdated Information as "Leverage" over you in order to offer you a "One Time Debt Settlement" to pay off a debt that is either Closed or Doesn't Exist. When in reality, the money that you pay them goes into an Offshore Account in Mexico and NOT TOWARDS A DEBT!!!
3: I have reported SCAMS like this in the past to the FBI CYBER CRIMES UNIT in Quantico, Virginia and to the FBI FRAUD DEPARTMENT in Dallas. However in Every Case before I have been told that there is Nothing that they can do to Stop the "Collectors" because they Re-Route their Phone Numbers thru Proxy Servers and are usually not even in the same state that the number is.
  The "Best" advice that I received last time was to post the phone number onto a website like this so Anyone Else who has been getting Harassed or Threatened by these types of people (and I use the term people Very Loosely) can Learn what they can about them and take steps to end the calls (i.e.: Block the Phone Number).
  I'm sorry that I couldn't give any better news to everybody, but as far as the Feds go, even tho these people are Harassing and Threatening people with Fake Lawsuits, Repos, and Collections, there isn't anything that the Feds can do to stop them. Our Tax Dollars Hard At Work Eh?

It's a collection group that lies.

They tried to use an extremely outdated contact information for me and claimed to be working for the Department of Defense (DOD doesn't use private contractors for collections, they collect themselves via Department of Treasury or the VA), refused to let me speak and where generally hostile during the entire call.  If they call you, record it, make records of when and how often they call, and report them.

Well this number has called me probably at least 10 times--  2 times at least they DID leave a message, one was MOSTLY music that you hear when on hold-then they said they were looking for Alexandra Dash-- and that name sounds familiar from calls I'd gotten within the last several years, and my father had to talk to them and tell them to STOP calling me!  Not to mention that my VOICEMAIL SAYS who I am and that is NOT Alexandra Dash!!!!!!    So it makes me so mad that they are so STUPID  that they won't be like "ohhhhh NOT the person we are asking for--I'm an idiot that should be taken out by Darwin's law"     I just believe that karma will get them so I don't have to worry--though I forgot to think about that-- karma works even through phone situations.....God will get them!     WHY won't the cell phone companies let you BLOCK numbers for FREE?!?!?!  Or at ALL event!  Even my HOME phone the wireless phone lets you do it, don't even have to go through the phone company......SO frustrating!!!!

and the other message they left was JUST "on hold" music--and  that message was about 50 seconds  and the one with I think just music was 1 minute 15 seconds......clogging up my voicemail!

Just receive a called this morning from 678-331-7324..asking for jimmy..we don't have no family name by that..what a weird people..I hate this scammers..i wish they would take all of them to jail..

Calls  many times a  day I notifed them we are on NO Call List and will report them to authorities if they call again. They are useing a router to get local numbers for their  collection calls.

They say they are a debt collector but the only debt i have is school loans which are not supposed to be paid back untill i am done with school!!!!

I got a call. No message left

I got one too.  They said they needed to talk to me about a personal business matter.

They are calling my cell phone constantly.  Make them stop

They have called repeatedly for one of our family. The guy called at lunch about "personal business" and said they would call back later. And they haven't stopped

Upon further investigation I'm guessing that the call was from the debt collection agency called CBC. At least it wasn't for me!

They called me 9 times over a week and when I finally answered it said "Please hold for a message from the CBC Group". After a few seconds a person came on and asked for someone I do not know, so I don't know what the call was about.
