I just got a call, saying I won a watch... I cancelled it all and am now going to the bank to change my number
Not happy 2013-09-26 01:35:03 Unknown
I just received the same call as everyone else. I have only had this cell number for 3 months and only give it out to people I trust and companies I do business with. It appears that my information was sold and I cannot figure out who. This phone is not registered to me. The agent did not have time to get rude with me because I immediately recognized the call to be fake. I never register for sweepstakes. I told Mike Malone to remove this number from their database any hung up.

I've read all your comments & oddly enough he said his name but never said he was with pch & he did mention a magazine, but didn't say any names or titles, & then said you don't have to buy one your already entered into the sweepstakes, then he said your on your way & hung up~another funny thing is earlier in the day, I received 2 calls, both of which I missed, I called both back & they were to a fax machine, but a different number from the one mike used~scary!!!
Cherie 2013-04-16 04:17:19 Unknown
Sorry, I didn't remember you saying that you ordered their magazines~but I still don't believe that who ever called me is legit!!
Cherie 2013-04-16 04:12:48 Unknown
Then why would a professional company finish what they called to say & then abruptly hang up on you, no company I've ever delt with did that! and he said they must have got my name( to enter it in the sweepstakes) because I must have a visa or MasterCard, if he's with the company wouldn't he know how they got it? And he never said how much money you could win in the sweepstakes, he only said, it goes up every year, usually they say "you could win...........plus there were no people in the back ground making calls themselves, how odd is that for a company? If you can truly dispute all of the obvious, then you are simply in denial~did you actually order & receive magazines from them?

He's still at it, was nice enough on the phone so I let him go on. I just refused to give him my CC info, he seemed slightly upset but was still polite. I figure if i get some free magazines and a watch to give my daughter it was worth the 5 minute call.
# is on my reject list now though in case he calls back.

i also just received a call and wouldnt give any info. he gave me a referal number and i proceeded to call this number. at first no one at this number knew the company or name i was talking about. i then asked how my number was received and no one had any idea. i asked to be took off the call list and they informed there was not a call list. after i asked enough information they hurried me off the phone and told me to have a good day. i do not trust any of this and dont believe any of you should. dont give an address or any financial information.

I have my number on the do not call list and they are still calling it so I guess I should report them
Reject 2013-01-24 04:32:37 Unknown
I have added this number to my reject list. Caller receives this message "Your call is being rejected for security reasons. Please don't bother calling again."
If i wanted an FN magazine, i would have replied to their FN junk mail.

got a call from some guy named mike Malone in Atlanta. he tried to get me to purchase espn mag for $1.88 a month. he knew my address and I'm not sure how. is it legit? I also apparently won a diamond watch as a per-drawing prize as the representative of my state
Rae 2012-04-23 16:43:46 Unknown
The Mike Malone guy called me this morning at 10 something in the morning and than again an hour later. No voicemail was left from him, which is weird since most professional places leave a voicemail. When I picked up the second time he went on about being associated with PCH, but was with a company associated with it called American Publishing or something like that. He said I won a diamond watch with a free subscription to a magazing of my choosing. Than he went on. I just want to know where he got my info from. He said my name, my state, and than said he knew I was associated with Visa or Mastercard. He was nice, and tried giving me another phone # to verify he's from a legit place. I was just annoyed and not interested at all. I just said thank you and that I would call back after I thought about it. I thought about it, and scam or not I don't need magazines or a diamond watch. If he calls again I'm just going to ignore it. A more professional thing for companies like that, if they are legit, would be to email me. If they have my email than I know it's legit, because I don't just give my email out to just anyone. Our phone companies need to do a better job about not giving out our numbers. If that's the case. I am a part of PCH, but that is in Colorado not Georgia. So it seemed a bit fishy to me. Just be nice and I'm sure the guy will leave you alone. If you're a jerk to him, remember if he knows your address and personal info he could be a jerk back to you and use it against you.

They do not say that. What they say is they represent the publishers. It's a real company that sells about 300-400 different magazines.
Barb Ryan 2011-06-07 22:54:44 Unknown

People---if you live in America, someone has your name, address and phone number on their marketing list. Why is that so hard to understand??
Mark K 2011-06-07 22:37:48 Unknown
I've ordered magazines from them. They are a legitimate company. They sponsor a sweestakes but you dont have to buy anything to be in it.
They have a separate promotion where if you buy a weekly magazine----they give you a watch and two monthly magazines for free--and they also let you change your magazines for free.
Bill S 2011-06-07 22:29:41 Unknown
There are a real magazine sales company. They have a sweepstakes every year will actual prizes. You don't have to buy a magazine to be in the sweepstakes.

Michael T. Malone...aka Thomas Malone aka...the Scammer behind this phone number,,,and many others. Personal information:
1650 Anderson Mill Rd, Apt 5311
Austell, GA 30106-1272
If you look this address up on Google Earth, it comes back in the middle of a forest. No joke. If you look this address up in a search engine: it does not exist.
This A**hole keeps calling my other 1/2s mobile phone over and over. We contacted him once, calling him back. As soon as we started confronting him, he hung up. He then proceeded to take the phone off of the hook. He also has an alternate number of
678-401-5655
He uses either his personal name to answer, "American Publishers". He will say you either won something, tries to get personal information, and all the other tricks (information off of websites). It seems that he has been doing this since around 2007.
I think it is time that we keep calling little Mikey and harassing him the way that he harasses us!
Sirri 2011-06-06 20:53:58 Unknown
Its a scammer!
I have been called by this person, and he answers as Mike Malone. All over the net there are reports of him doing this since at least 2007. Most of the time he says you won something through a sweepstakes at his company American Publishers and proceeds to ask for you to buy something or send money or give your credit card info. For some reason he never asked me to buy things or give him a card number, but every other case i've found says he does this. Thankfully, in most of the cases people were smart enough to identify this as a scam before giving out too much info. One person actually look up his number and he is listed as Thomas Malone from Atlanta, Georgia. He also uses an alternate number: (770)944-0621
Anyone in that neighborhood please look him up and give him a nice little visit, thanks!

ibsassy00 2011-06-06 20:53:58 Unknown
Got the call and no message, didnt answer since i didnt recognize the number so have no idea what they wanted..not the first time it's showed up on my caller id
Personal 2011-06-06 20:53:58 Unknown
I just got ahold of this Michael, or Thomas, or.....and today he was American Publishing collecting information on finalists for some magazine. I confronted him, once again....all he could say is "Something I can help you with"....I let the truth be known and said it all out to him. When I brought up about "oh, that is nice that is what you are doing today, but shouldnt you be selling watches, or collecting information on peoples C.Cs" he panicked and hung up (of course).
Going to start getting this scammer back by calling and leaving little love notes if he does not pick up on his answering machine. Let the REAL people of society come and attack these scammers!
