you all are crazy. i never knew there were so many crazy people in the world. are you paranoid or what. this is a legit agency whether or not you donate to them is your own business but please go be crazy on your own somewhere else.

I have NEVER donated, have asked to be removed from their list and yet I receive no less than four calls a day.  What I have said in the past (answered by accident) and will say in the future is not printable in this format.  THEY ARE NOT LEGIT.  I have asked what percentage goes to the cause - unknown.  Who is your sponsor - unknown.  How much do you make - no answer.  By the way, 60 minutes did a story on this type of scam - most of the homeless make less than $10.00/day and have quotas of how much to bring in.  These types of boiler plate operations are like kids, cats, and dogs - you feed them you own them, if they THINK you MIGHT feed them, you own them.  There are way too many charities with a 90% donation rate and 10% or less overhead rate that actually do good.  Why get bent about it?  I am tired of such disruptive inconsiderate liars calling me.

I have never donated to the American Kidney Association, but I have been getting calls daily for years now.  I have repeatedly asked to be taken off their list, but the calls keep coming.  I have had calls as late as 9:30 pm.  The last year or so the calls have been coming from a different local number each day, so it is impossible to block them..  

You should have called the police that is theft and inspire is stealing because they used to call from the same phone number as Park Avenue thrift it is a scam

I don't know if a scam or not but I am looking at my donation right now that should have been picked up yesterday. That is it for me. I thought I was doing them a favor but now I have to drag inside 4 heavy bags. They are off my list for good!

Legit organization is not the key here. When an organization abuses telemarketing efforts then they have forfeited their right to be classified as legit and transgressed to unlawful status. I personally have never donated to this organization. I am on the National Do Not Call registry. However, over the past 2 years I have logged in a ledger over 1000 calls and every time they did call they let it go to voice message but never left a message. After first getting these calls I did answer but immediately the caller would hang up. This is plain and simply harassment by an organization that claims to be a Christian organization. The law should throw the book at them as far as I am concerned!!!

Thanks for the heads-up regarding their new scam venture. The issue should be under control in the not too distant future, however. There are people physically passionate about tracking down telemarketers' family members.

In the meantime, those of us who prefer to NOT deal with crooked scam artists by using Louisville Sluggers against their family members, isn't it a better idea to just block incoming calls from known scam numbers? SO very many services allow this - even Magic Jack with the $10 MagicFeatures add-on will take care of it for you.

While it is humorous that Kennard's "church" is cold calling in Charlotte, NC for "donations" for it's Georgia based church, it is sad that people haven't allowed themselves to have a little more fun with two bit crooks.  

The Charlotte BBB says of them: "The company operates out of the Atlanta area and has an F rating with the BBB for not responding to five consumer complaints."Nspire Outreach does not meet this Standard because: Its effectiveness assessment policy does not specify that this assessment will take place at least once every two years." "It did not produce a written report outlining the results of its most recent effectiveness assessment." "It states it does not have audited financial statements for the past fiscal year."

Sorry, NSPIRE is collecting items to sell in thrift stores owned by Sterling Westrop. Sterling Westrop Family Thrift stores, Park Avenue Thrift, etc... The name changes as people catch on to the scam. The "positive reviews" of Nspire on this forum are almost all bogus.

Take your donations to your local church or Goodwill/Salvation Army. Sadly, almost all these telemarketer based "charities" are only helping themselves, not those in need.

This is at least , a tragic post !! the reason ? it is riddled with accusations , and no dates, no uploaded documents, no arrest or courts dates, no charges that hold water. only assumptions, where and when were these Clothing boxes towed. and be clear that it was not their right , because the owners of the towed boxes where their illegally themselves. ( or at least in the wrong place) so maybe the boxes where moved from the space allowed to Nspire?  And with NO documentation you ask How they sleep at night ? They also keep  90 % ? did you know that most Non profits can legally keep 80 % for operating costs.. and most people are helped after the non profits , lights, utilities, rent, insurance, vehicle payments, operating costs of the homes, (which this group does have) in NC ,TN , and GA .. and look at the posts on this thread that praise this group !! they are doing some good . and you with no info only accusations say things that would keep those being helped form receiving it. Yes there is a Non profit called Inspire from Atlanta, they are also in Charlotte NC , and in TN. they help victims of domestic Violence, the do clothing drives and at times leave bags on mail boxes and doors.. WBTV channel 3in Charlotte recently ran an add about them , making them sound as if they were a bit shady ! so I did my own investigations, the TV channel said they had a bad record with the BBB , in my investigation I found that this organization did in fact have 3 or 4 complaints against them with the BBB , and the BBB further stated that they raised several million dollars, and they did not know where the money was spent.. this all was false, 1st the story that Channel 3 WBTV was reporting was about 3 months late.. yes some complaints existed but, they were all handled by the non profit !! also the BBB said they were wrong about the money being raised (several millions) . It appeared to me that local non profits with a same sounding name were upset and complained to the BBB I guess afraid that this organization may take some of the funds they could raise, and "Inspire Atlanta" going by the name (Hope for Domestic Violence). was found to be a Christian non profit . FYI .. Sears , Lowes, Home Depot, Wal mart, Target, United way, Church's private organizations and most non profits , have at sometime been complained about .. you just cannot please everyone it seems.. My advice ! if you want to give , then give, it is a blessing you will receive , if someone misuses your donation , they will pay for that.. and you can then choose not to donate to them again. but never allow a small group who's money helps more people , to be shot down because they are not a huge non profit.. many large non profits spend millions in operational dollars, over head, and salaries.. so let's be real .

They were supposed to pick up months prior to an incident, but never came. Nspire came to our home & took our clearly marked American Kidney Fund donation from our carport. We tried contacting Nspire charity numerous times with the info left on the thanks slip left at our house, but no answer. After some weeks they started calling us again & we told them not to call anymore/ we don't. So far they've called a couple times, but we just don't answer.

Well, your apologies aside, I've asked many, many times to be removed from your call list. It ain't happening. The guy today was very polite and assured me he would take care of it. Yeah, like the other ten took care of it. This is more than a glitch. It's a testament to the character of the organization. Fishy. Your F rating with the Better Business Bureau is well-earned.

I've donated to Nspire before and found no problems with them.  4 kids keeps me really busy and I'm just happy that they could make use of the clothe we no longer need.  Better to donate than to dump.  I'm also glad that they do pickups... that saves us some gas.

How did you discover this?  Interesting, bc after about an hour conducting a background investigation on Gregg Kennard & his wife, it b/c very clear where the money channels to.  Yet, EVERYONE in Lawrenceville and surrounding counties looks to him as a true philanthropic visionary whose one goal is to help the helpless... I.E.' "Returning Citizens" (those who've paid for their crimes and now must somehow, some way reenter society!  It is A DAUNTING TASK!  truly!  These gentlemen NEED; Treatment / Housing / Employment / Mentoring  (T.H.E.M.).  As a "felon", and most bridges burned behind them, they are Either Individual People who NEED OUR help in re-entering and growing to a productive fulfilled member of society.  Then Need to hear the Gospel of Christ (not the Gospel of "Tony Robbins"... nor any other Self-Help Prosperity Oriented "Gospel".  So, these people whom God Loves, are either ones to be helped, OR PERSONS TO BE TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF,,, kept down,, churned thru a system that from DAY 1 is guaranteed to indenture them to serve in Kennard's "Ministry".  (Indentured Servitude??)  Failure rate is SO high.. (failure is defined by a man not completing his 12 month contract... yep it's a legal contract... when they sign, they are immediately Indentured for 12 months.  

As with all other well-constructed schemes, the surface looks / sounds amazing, good-hearted, Godly, compassion w/ accountability, first-rate.  It's the intent of the heart that determines a man's ways.  IMHO, Greg Kennard's heart is MONEY, power, prestige.  He has his reward, here on earth.  Hey, I'm imperfect.. a sinner saved by grace.  I'm not saying he's any worse than I.  I only want people to be fully aware of Gregg's motives for everything that's accomplished at Nspire and thru the Fifth Avenue Thrifts.  

Create an independent board, institute public full financial disclosure or at least become a member of a sound "Financial Accountability" organization.  Preferably, a Christian based org (after all, it IS A "CHURCH') choke... choke.  

As a Church, they are NOT BOUND TO THE 'DO NOT CALL LIST' regulations!!!  That is only 1 of MANY MANY ways to cloak deception & greed in the wrappings of Christianity.  

Nspire is filed with the IRS as a "church" (He requires that everyone in his program, attend the "church" services.)  Therefore, there is NO TRANSPARENCY of finances.  NO PUBLIC information.  He has chosen NOT TO BE A MEMBER OF ANY Nonprofit Financial Accountability Association, Christian or otherwise!!!

IMHO, Gregg Kennard is a con's con.  He's very careful about the way he appeals for funds, volunteers to bring him slaves,,, oops... I mean ex-cons (really returning Citizens)

I feel so very sorry for you, I see this women that is homeless in Conyers.  Her clothing is very worned and she is in need.  You would rather throw you clothing in the trash rather than give it to NSPIRE that don't sale there clothing like the Good Will.  She can get new clothing for the different seasons from NSPIRE, also food and other need items.  NSPIRE email me to let me know that they will be in my area on a current date and asked if I have any item to give via EMAIL, not by phone.  May The Lord Bless You.

I have been donating to NSPIRE Outreach for 8 year or more, they have never been rude and they give the item I donate to help children, adults, and the homeless.  What do you mean they are not legit Charity?  All you have to do to verify that the NSPIRE is legit is call the UNITED WAY of Atlanta.  You need to get your facts right.  Helping other with item that your are not using or clothing that you don't wear, what is the real deal?  When you give it will be given back to you, maybe not the way you gave, but you will be Bless.

AKS told me I could make 100.00 a wk. not always true as they have some real problems with drivers picking up. Took this job to help pay bills. all I got was more stamps and envelopes to buy. gas for trips to post office..
constant lies from supervisors  that customers must not have had donation out in time. customers call and say they put items out the night before.   Nobody takes responsibility. If you want chump change because your bored, this is the place to work . Don't expect a decent pay check but once a month. You'll get your chump change every week.

Maybe they monitor this, as late yesterday I did receive a call from a woman, won't say names here, who had no empathy whatsoever, stating they could not find the box, and it was probably thrown away.  When I asked WHY they would take anything not specifically marked for donation, and not even sitting out separately from anything else even indicating it would be for donation, I was given a robotic reply, " I'm sorry, we could not find your box and it was probably thrown away".  Then I asked to speak to someone who was her superior, or who was in charge, and her answer, " I'm in charge". I said, you are in charge, you own NSPIRE?  Se said no, no one knows who owns NSPIRE.  There was no REAL apology, stating they accidentally do pick up things like garbage, and confuse it for donations.  My understanding is, it must be marked NSPIRE or marked donation.   No offer to replace items of monetary value at all, or even asked, what can we do to make this right with you.

With that said, and the non answer it this question, please be careful giving anyone permission to come on your property for donation pick-ups, who obviously do not feel they are accountable in anyway to adhere to their own rules.  

I have donated to these people  for years, and had nothing whatsoever against them until now. Being in the business world for years, and working with customers, I can say what REALLY has my red flag up is the lack of concern, compassion, and empathy for those who help their business survive.

They actually took a box off my carpoer not even marked NSPIRE or set in a place they or anyone would even THINK it was for donation. It had personal items in the box and I am just sick about it.  I called and posted messages all over and finally got a call that they were looking for it, and would call me back that night or for sure the next morning. NO ONE EVER CALLED ME BACK.  I did leave them another message I would be filing a police report, as much as I hated doing so, but they left me little choice.  Even a courtesy call the next day would have been nice.

I also work for AKS. That is ridiculous to state you have to get 35 pickups a day. It is recommended to get 42 pickups a week. If you follow your instruction booklet. It's relatively easy. Focus is the key. You are supposed to call your supervisor, if a customer calls for a pickup and they will handle it, per instruction booklet. Sounds like you never read the booklet. Drivers work from 7:30am until dark. Everyone can't be picked up at the same time. If every time a solicitor called the office. to check on a pick up, the office wouldn't get any work done. They have a very tight system and have been operating a long time and probably will still be operating after you are long gone.

I'm a solicitor and we get lead list from the supervisors. We have no idea you've asked to be removed from the list. That's no reason for you to hang up on us or be rude. Its very boring to sit and dial number after number with no answer and then when someone does answer they go off on us. We are just trying to make a dollar. Also if you don't put your bag, out we get no pay. A thankless job.
