I received call on my cellphone and telling me that I need to call to lower my interest rates on credit card.  I DON'T HAVE A CREDIT CARD and don't know who these people are.  Used up my minutes by calling me.

I don't amswer any calls that I don't know the phone number.

They are trying to get you to sign up for a new credit card number.  I am on the
DO NOT CALL LIST and this makes no difference.  I have received three calls this morning.
I decided to reply and when I got a live person, and started to ask them to stop calling me
they just hung up.
I received a rash of the same calls "This is Rachel from Credit Card Services" about six months ago.
Anyone know how to stop them?

Rec'd call this morning. Didn't recognize the number so I didn't pick up. Great....Now I'll be getting these calls for the next couple of months. There's also another telemarketer making the rounds from Nevada.

GEORGIA (caller id) call from this Atlanta Georgia number that left a message, this is Card Holder Services calling on your card but there is nothing wrong with your card just press 9 to talk to a live person to get a lower rate on your card or call back ASAP. When trying to call this number back it does not go through and the operator recording says it is not a good number. Agreed, sounds like a lower rates Credit Card SCAM/SCHEME from Card Holder Services that is not a registered business in Atlanta Georgia or anywhere. From several other complaint web sites on this number they never properly identify a company name and only say it's Card Holder Services, which makes it sound like a SCAM/SCHEME.

I answered and listened to their recording message about final notice to lower your interest rates on credit cards. I presses option 9 to talk to a live person. When she came on the line she asked me if I was calling about the offer. I said no but that I wanted to be removed from their calling list. She hung up on me!!! I called back the number and it is not active. I work in the telecom industry so I am sure that they must be using an auto dialer to call thousands of random numbers a day. When someone presses 9, they get a human (or sub-human). They mask their number to prevent call backs. They are in clear violation of several FCC guidelines. I wish I had a way of determining who they are so I could file a FCC complaint and shut them down. They are scum!!!

this is a credit card company, either collection or to assist in paying your cc's down.

Called my work number.  Didn't answer because I have no reason to answer calls that are not from within my company. (that show up on the callerID completely different.)

This is just one of three calls on sucessive days all about the same time.  The company purports to be "Account Services" and the spiel aboout reducing credit card interest is the same.  I try to keep them on the phone as long as possible by giving fake answers until they get to the point of asking for your credit card info.  They get mad at my wasting THEIR time!!!  They said they can't remove my number unless I give it to them because the call was placed by a computer (which is also against the federal telemarketing law)  Have filed a complaint each of the past three days with the FCC.  Other numbers they use are 626-273-8212 and 402-982-046.  Plan the next time to tell the caller to just hold on because someone is at the door and just leave the phone oft the hook.

I got a call from this # and answered it (ID said Georgia cell phone) to find out who they were.  A message came on and said they would help with credit card problems, etc.  Then a human came on the line - I asked how they got my phone #, to cease calling and to stop harrasing me.  The man said if he was harassing me he would tell me to f**k off and hung up.  Two minutes later I got a call from the same # and some woman started the same spiel.  She also hung up as soon as I said to leave me alone.  When I tried to call back I got the can't connect message.  Since I am totally fed up with these scam slimes I called the FCC (I'll start with them and if they aren't the right agency I'll find out who is) and left a message with them to report this.  I am awaiting their return call but maybe if everyone takes the time to call the FCC and report these people maybe something will be done.  Let's fight back!

I'm here in Chicago and I got this number (678) 499-2999 number to call my direct line at our business.  I didn't pick it up and left it to got into my voice-mail, but nothing was recorded.  Call display did say "GEORGIA".

I keep getting phone calls from this number, we are on the do not call list.  When I was connected to a live person, I asked to have my number removed, but the caller hung up on me.  I would like to contact this company as these calls are harassing.

I talked to the police and they are aware of this fraud, the preps are known fanatics of the hackers world. Block them or once in your cell they will be able to access your computer accounts, i.e. Bank, credit cards.

If I get 3 in one day I will report it also with the police. Must be a computer or someone who has programmed a computer to do it. It's a spam..God created people differently, some do like to bother other people and some do not like to be bothered.  It's just a small annoyance, but still..

Just got the (678) 499-2999 call for the first time from GA, USA. I didn't answer and they left no message. Tis the season!!

We also just received a call on cell phone from this number, about lowering credit card interest rate.  Just hung up and the number won't go through as dialed when you call it back.  Sure it is some kind of scam.

I got a call from this number telling me about a last-minute chance to lower the interest rate on my credit card. The automated message didn't specify a company name, nor do I own a credit card.

I just got a call from this number too. I didn't answer, but figured it might be a solicitor/scammer. I just got a brand new phone/number/service, so how in the heck would these morons know who I am. Be careful!

It sounds like a scam to me. I didn't answer but from what i have read it sounds like a huge scam that want to steal your identity or something.

They state that they can lower your interest rates on your credit cards if you owe 4000 or more, but when asked to be removed on the Do not call list they stated that they refused to remove my number and hung up. This is a personal cell phone number that they called.

I was able to keep these jokers on the line for 30 mins. They are the National Debt Institute(http://nationaldebtinstitute.com  phone#866-311-2145 ).
