These are not nice, helpful people! They are CROOKS with a recorded message trying to separate unsuspecting people from their money. In their message they ask you to press #1 to hear more information about about a "possible fraud". I hung up and blocked the number. Several weeks ago they called from 770-212-2376. There needs to be an call type option on this site for scammers.

It's a simple scam. At some point our information was compromised, they got your name, phone #, DoB, last 4 of social, etc. DO NOT verify anything with them. DO NOT pay them anything. THERE IS NO REAL CRIMINAL CASE. They are trying to scare people in to turning over their money immediately by using the basic personal info they have on hand.

If you're still worried this is real, just tell them you'll respond when you are served official papers outlining the case against you. There can be no court case unless they notify you. Use your brains people.

Had a call from this number today to my mom and my mother in law and my husband. Told them all that if we didn't pay 500$ by tomorrow noon they would put my husband in jail. Said investigators name was Candice Brown. We have talked to police and have some further questions to ask these people. Pretty sure this is all a hoax but scary the way they can get do much of your info.

They left me a voice message that they were filing in court today.  Like you, I have not received anything in the mail.  I have the You mail app where I can assign numbers to hear "this number is no longer in service".  I just added them to it and when they call from another number will add that one too.  I am sooo tired of all of these scammers.  

These people have been calling me basically every week since April. They call from a different state each time and it is always very threatening. Each time they call, I report them to the police. When the police call them they say I owe them anywhere from $300 to $5,000 and that I changed my bank account so they can't get me. They only have my cell phone number and they never mail me anything. I have lived in the same town for 30 years and have only had one checking account since moving to this town after graduating from college. The police officer knows me since I taught their children in our local school and was a school principal. They get really angry when I call them to let them know I reported them to law enforcement. It is really kind of funny to hear them go nuts about it. I don't bother calling them back anymore. I just block their number from my cell and wait for the new number to appear the next week. It is best to not even return their calls. These people are frauds. Do not give them any money. They will not stop calling you. You will just be charged another fake debt and they will take you for all of the money they can possibly get from you.

Yes, you are right, these people get really pissed when you report them to the police!

I got a call from 404-418-7979 today and the lady said her name was Michelle White then she gave me a call back number of 678-504-6333 and she said she was from Legal Mediation. I have been doing some checking and these people are scammers. If you get a call from these people don't give in and do what I did and call the place that they said their info is from and then call your local police and file a complaint, Then call them back and tell them what you found out and what you did and listen to them really get pissed and ignorant,
