Kelly Powers - said my resume 'came across her desk' and she wanted to talk and possibly set up an interview and left the above number.  Kelly Powers is a popular name on the net - do a search - she gets around, that gal!

Yeah, probably wants you sell insurance or something. My resume "came across her desk" too but she did not leave a company name which any legit company would DEFINITELY do. This is probably a work at home scam.

You have got to be kidding me.  Ok, so if someone works for say, AT&T, aren't there a bunch of people who are at a low level like maybe customer service, who are under a few less people who are supervisors, who are under a few less people who are managers, who are overseen by executives, who are overseen by a CEO?  So doesn't the lowest person on that totem pole make less, and as you go up each tier then each of those people make a little bit more money?  So, you are saying that is MLM and a rip off and a scam?  Isn't that how every company in this country works?  So essentially you are saying that every company is multi-level marketing then if the person over you makes money based on what you do (like happens in every single company out there).  Way to make your point.

How are these links for those of you who believe that Primerica is a scam?

What kind of research do you think that Citi and Warburg Pincu did when making the decision to invest millions of dollars in Primerica?  Do you think they googled and followed the advice of some morons on a blog site?  Thank goodness they did real research.

Alright here we go:

1) Primerica disciples - and MLM disciples in general - don't realize that the "independent contractor" feature saves the company big bucks. They don't have to offer you health care benefits or match your 401(k) contributions. They save on unemployment insurance, payroll services and accounting, and bonuses. There's less paperwork, less hassle, and last but not least... no liability. You are on your own.

2) Why are the disciples sitting at their computers defending Primerica? Does something that good need to be defended? Shouldn't it speak for itself? Shouldn't they be out spending their enormous commissions on steak dinners and vacations? I'll tell you why. It's because Primerica is MLM. And MLM works better if everyone believes in MLM. How could they recruit a hundred people to recruit a hundred people to recruit a hundred people if there are people out there bashing the entire MLM system? If even one person closes his or her mind to network marketing, it cuts off a possibly endless branch of recruits who can recruit more recruiters, who can in turn recruit more recruiters. That's just one branch. I can see how compelling it can sound to a greedy person - or an unemployed parent - when a good talker paints a picture and puts dollar signs on each leaf of the branch.

3) It shouldn't even have to be said that pitching your friends and family is the ultimate sign of disrespect. A person who pitches Primerica to me is no friend of mine. A family member who pitches Primerica to me has strained the relationship in such a way that it may never be the same again. it proves to me that they view me as a lead, not a family member or friend.

4) Condescending remarks suggest feelings of guilt (unless of course the person was just born a bona fide a***ole). The people who most fervently defend MLM feel stupid that they fell for it, but are too proud to admit it. So they continue the lie forever. They're "independent agents" who haven't yet figured out that they'll never be one of those people who makes tons of money, as was implied in the pitch originally made to them. In a few years, they too will see the light. The bright shiny light that reflects off of an empty money clip, or the rear view mirror of a car being repossessed.

5) If you have a mortgage, a car payment, utilities, insurance, an appetite for food, kids, etc... how can you possibly remain forever ethical when everything in your entire life rides on this one sale, or the next one? A solvent company with successful, profitable products should be able to provide basic survival pay in addition to commissions if they want to make or retain a reputation of integrity and honesty.

6) Taking a cut from the income generated by the recruits of your recruit's recruits is downright greedy. It's not honest work. Plain and simple.

7) I'm all for entrepreneurial endeavors. But I also know that not all day jobs are as oppressive as MLM'ers say they are.

8) In response to this Primerica disciple: "Sometimes if it sounds too good to be true, it's because it's too good to pass up." at 9:30PM --- Holy Crap!!!!! I wish I knew who this person was so I could sell them something... ANYTHING!... No not really. That would be wrong. But geez, wouldn't it be a fun lesson?

9) Regarding the analogy to real estate and auto sales. There are some HUGE differences. Realtors and car salespeople don't ask every single warm blooded human being they meet if they are looking for work. They also don't recruit people to recruit people to recruit people, with the intent of taking a cut of everyone's income. Don't confuse a recruitment with a referral. Of course real estate people would like you to mention their name when your sister wants to sell her house. But you can usually rest assured that the realtor won't try to recruit your sister into the business (of real estate OR recruiting).

In conclusion... Primerica sucks. And MLM is just creepy and cult-like. You freaks!!!!!

I've noticed that the MLM apologists/employees are by far the most vociferous lot on these boards and elsewhere. The reason is simple: 9 times out of ten, they have sunk far more than they can afford to "fake it 'till you make it' and ANY bad publicity (ie the sad truth) is going to hurt their ability to recoup... posting fake positive crap (endless rhetorical questions? Nice try) doesn't undo the damage that the simple truth does.

I feel sorry for these people who have been snookered and refuse to believe it, but scamming people simply working for work is far worse.

I'm sure that these links are simply the work of "jealous competitors."

Are you saying Primerica is a "job scam"?  I'm confused.  They have an IPO closing by the end of the 3rd quarter.  How can a company with an IPO be a scam?  Please explain.

They have found the cure for a lot of things, but unfortunately they haven't yet found the cure for STUPID.  If you researched on a CREDIBLE website then you would realize that Primerica is a reputable company that teaches people how money works.  Look on the BBB site.  Primerica has been featured in the Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Premier Business, and Success from Home Magazine.  Believe what you want and die broke and pathetic serving burgers at McDonald's or saying hi to cranky people when they walk into Walmart.  I have done my research.  I have been a Primerica client for years, and I will continue to be one.  I do work with the company now, and I know Kelly Powers.  She has taught me a lot of things and helped a lot of families.  Last spring I went with her to deliver a $200K death benefit check to woman and her 3 kids who lost their father to cancer.  That money changed those people's lives.  So do what you want with YOUR life, but don't bash good Christian people.  In the end, we know whose judgement matters, and it's not yours.

So Adton, when you say "for some reason," what do you mean?  Weren't all of the booths there companies who were looking for new people to work for them?  So why do you find it so puzzling that the largest financial marketing company in North America would be there?

I received a call from Kelly Powers with Primerica.  I felt I needed to do my due dilligence and research the company on legitimate websites.  I found out that Primerica has an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau.

Also, I found this on Twitter.  Primerica has received the Dalbar Customer Service award for 7 years in a row!

I think you are forgetting that if you try to get a job with the post office you have to pay to take a civil service test before you can even interview, and it's a lot more than $99.  Also, Primerica offers scholarship reimbursement of your $99.  So when you finish your training program you get your money back plus you have a long term career where you don't have to worry about being laid off every 2 years.  Sounds good to me!  I ahev done my research on many legitimate websites like www.ambest.com.  Primerica is a great company that has been around since the 70's.  They are highly regulated by the federal and state governments.  Why does everyone seem to think that this is a problem?  I know people who have worked for Primerica for years.  I am kicking myself for not getting involved sooner.

So exactly where does Citigroup have to be then if not in Cartersville? For what reason do you think that Cartersville is not worthy of having an office of a prominent financial company?  Do the people of Cartersville not have financial needs?  Also, there is a branch of CitiFinancial on Main St in Cartersville (also a member of Citigroup.)  Should we go tell them they must be confused because Citigroup doesn't exist in Cartersville?  Wake up!  Citigroup is all around the world. Primerica is a subsidiary of Citigroup.  Look it up on a real website.  www.citigroup.com
