If you really want to stop these people, complain OFFICIALLY to the Florida Dept of Agriculture and Consumer Affairs. Contact Monica Brown of their Telemarketing Dept at Monica.Brown@freshfromflorida.com and/or go to the website www.800helpFLA.com and use the online complaint form. Be as specific as possible. Name Michael Hilgar and Elite Information Solutions and say that his company is making direct sales solicitations in violation of Florida law in addition to violating Federal law (you can make that complain to the FCC). Unbelievably when I spoke with Monica she told me NO ONE had yet made a formal complaint against this company. I did. Now YOU need to do as well so we can put these people behind bars. Michael Hilgar IS a criminal and known con artist. Just look up his record. He has gone from one scam (roofing and stucco) to another. WE need to stop him.

Just curious: did any of you recently put in a change of address with USPS and click "yes" for discount coupons?

Stupid me scheduled appt with them for tomorrow.  Read this and now cannot reach them back on the phone to cancel appointment.  When I call it says number is unreachable. Any suggestions on what to do?  Should we just not be home at the appointment time?

Oh, and by the way, I still have a copy of their script and rebuttal sheet for proof.

The name is fake. I'm not guessing this, I know it. some of you, sadly, may have, at some point, even gotten a call from me. I was never rude, and I only worked for them for a few days, until I ended up getting the same guy three more times that day, after personally putting him on the do not call for the company. They're not located in Georgia at all. If you do some research, you'll see they also targeted Texas before Georgia, and next is North Carolina and New Jersey. They're based in Casselberry, FL, and the real company name is Elite Information Solutions. I come back to these call sites often to see if they've stopped yet. Honestly, I want them out of business. They're scammers, and the only reason their employees even go through with it is because most of them are either inexperienced or just got out of jail or prison, and they're desperate for work. They used to do hiring on craigslist, but since I started posting links to their ads with their real phone numbers, that has stopped. In two days their real number changed four times, thanks to all of you out there who called them on their crap.

Now here's what they're REALLY trying to do: They're contracted by "alternative energy companies," meaning that the "technician" will come to your house, look over things that he has no idea about, and then tell you the only way to get the rebate is by spending $12000 on a solar water heater.

Want to ACTUALLY save some money? If you have central air at your house, see about a heat recovery system from any licensed HVAC tech. It's basically a tube that runs your water along the hot parts of your outdoor AC unit, and just uses your water heater as storage. You can turn your breaker off all months of the year you're using AC. It costs about $2-3000, but it's a lot better than $12000. And I'm not trying to sell you this thing, just being honest. Also, if you have the time or ability, crawl around your attic and look at the ducts. Should be plastic tubes with insulation around them. And rips in the insulation could lead to rips in plastic, which results in energy loss, and poor airflow. You can call a HVAC tech to fix it, or you can tackle it with duct tape for a quick fix, although it might not meet inspections. Now, I have seen people get a rebate for having the heat recovery installed, but not always. Mostly, it's a way you can ACTUALLY save on your pwer bill, because you'd be using heat that's going to be gien off anyway to heat your water. But I digress...

Got a call from this number. Came up as "Cell Phone, GA" on the CLID. Same pitch as John in Kennesaw had: Wanted to send someone out to do an energy audit to see if I was eligible for up to $3800 in government money.
They called the company "United Save Energy Association"

I didn't answer. No message. Listed on caller ID as "Name Unavailable." I reorted them to the FCC at http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm?id=d1e37 and the DNC list mentioned above by John in Kennesaw.

"USA Electric"

They wanted to send someone to my home to do an energy audit. But would not give me a company phone # or website or address. The person was friendly and had just started. Her superviser was also on the call. I spent 30min trying to get company information or help them see it was a scam. They finally "put me on hold" (hung up). I reported the call to www.donotcall.gov but this looks more like a way to start a SCAM.
