I got this same call for fraud and they told me i wrote a check to a loan company back in 05 from my bank i never had s bank account in 05

I received a call from a Carrie Williams and was told that I had wrote a $900.00+ check and was going to be prosecuted with a warrent for my arrest and a felony charge on my file if I didn't pay it to them immediatly. They insisted that they will except money gram or credit card payment at that time. I will report them!

I just changed to new number about two weeks ago and today i got a call . i did not answer the call, but was left a hard and harsh message about a civil matter that needs urgent attention. She said she had my ss number and paper work that was sent to her and have to return the call. I never answer a number i do not know. I looked this number up 678-607-2694 and saw all these reports of scare issues. To bad the name she gave to me was not mine. I will not give her the time of day to return her call. I have no legal issues pending, WHAT A SCAM  deb hill was the name she was calling.   her name was susan white that called me.

miss Carrie Williams contacted me and at first she was very aggressive to me and stated i had committed a fraud .When i did my homework i realized i did have a complaint out i had forgot to a while back to pay it .Thank god she helped me because i had called my district attorney and they did state if they do receive my complaint they will possibly send out  a warrant of demand. i had to call back  with my pride and ask them for their help to help me not get sent to my district attorney.So all of you might want to call and see whats going on because they have Social Security numbers  involved.So if they where a fraud company i don't think they will be calling with our Social Security numbers if you really think about it.So i did thank her office for trying to aware me of the complaint for check fraud that i had forgot about over the years.And i did receive documents stating i'm cleared from allegations.

i got the same call 07/23..carrie williams and all..dont call back..u probably have something that is about to fall off your credit report so they are tring to contact u to restart the seven year process over and then scare u into paying..its a scam..they call hundreds of people tring to bait one..dont fall for it..if u do have old debt it  falls off after seven years pls remember!

I just received a call from a Ms. Williams too and she was rude and said i commited fraud and i was going to go to jail. When i started questioning her, she became very defensive and hung up on me.

same thing happened to me.  they are frauds and i have filed with the better business bureau and will file with the attorney general on monday.  i hate these crooks.

This company also called saying I commuted fraud....they were very agresive on the phone and took it very personal when I ask questions an detail I did my homework and called the companys they were involving and found out this is not the actual procedure they take to retrieve past debts they threatened that they would send my file to d.a. office I would get a warrent and go to jail, they were very angry and would yell n srgue with me when I asked for their company actual address n phone co number....they would not answer questions direct but put me on hold for long periods of time and then figure out an answer. They do have a website but now days anyone can create one and yes I was scared but, but if it was real then they would give me all the info I had requested. I asked for d.a. office that this would go to and they got mad. I asked for the actual address n number to the company filing against me and slso anger and i was told thats my job to figure out.... I asked for documents to be mailed to me I was yelled at ... I asked what out source company they were going through andahat's hen it got bad . I got no direct answers...I was Hung up on by Mrs Williams i also spoke to, Andrew and another guy...they may have. My info but I knew they were lying they tried to make me wire 500 fillets by money gram . I'm so grateful I didn't......

Carrie Williams contacted me about my daughter threatening a litigation about fraud. They wanted me to give them my daughters information so that they may call her. They said they were an attorney office in Georgia and they were on a difference time zone like pacific time or something like that. My daughter knew about this website and their scare tactic. We looked them up and they are impersonating an attorney office. What attorney stays open until 8pm?!

My grand daughter called them and they thought she was her mother. She got really irate when my granddaughter wanted to file a complaint. She was told that good luck that would never go through and hung up on her.

I received a call from a Carrie Williams also about a 'litigation' and complaint and investigation.

Here's the thing. My mother has worked in the justice court system for over 2 decades. I have taken the Lsat and sat in on proceedings and law conferences/classes. Also, unlike these collectors...I have a Masters degree with my undergrad in communication.

These collectors are teetering on violating the FCRA.

Imagine choosing such a profession where compassion and charity are discourged and anger, fear and threats are encouraged....

Even with all I know... I had a tinge of fear at first.
Chances are the statute of limitations are passes and the collector does not even have rights to file in your state due to jurisdiction rules. In order to bring a case in a state you are in (most of the time), they must have an established company within the state you reside. You can also check this with the state online corporation commision.

So:
1. Check public records online if they have it for civil proceedings in your county or district.
2. If you do not find proceedingds with your name...inform these people next time they call to not call back. Request an address to send a cease and desist. It is harassment if they keep calling.
3.If you are really concerned...check the criminal online files...but trust me...if there was any litigation, you must be served. If you were accused of fraud, honored public servants would arrive at your door or place of employ to inform you!

i got a call from this phone number also and i was so scared bc i have NEVER commited fraud and when i called it went to voicmail i also read on other pages that many have received this call also its a debit collector using scare for people to identify themselves beware

i also got this call on thursday june 22 saying my name was attached to a case involving fraud and i was flipping out like what in the world this must be a mistake.  i have not recived nothing in the mail and you think you would also i have not done nothing for fraud and so i called yesterday and it said the caller would be notified of your call i called this morning and i got a voice mail. now reading all of these replys makes me feel better that its not for fraud. glad i decided to look up this info.

Hello Tara: Just got a call from 678-607-2694 today. Carrie Williams indicated that she had received some paperwork on her desk that indicated that my name was associated with a fraud.  I needed to call them back today with the case number that she gave me to verify that the information they had belonged to me. I searched the website with this number and found out that this is apparantly a scare tactic that a collection agency out of Atlanta is using.

Got a call from a Carrie Williams at 678-607-2694 today saying that my name had been submitted to their office today in reference to a possible fraud case associated with my name, and that I needed to contact them today to discuss verifity whether this was actually me.  I always look up phone numbers on whitepages.com and this number was unlisted.  I was very upset about this call so I decided to research the topic on google, "scare tactics collection agencies use to intimidate people" and came across this website.  I am so glad that I found this number. I thought that it was probably associated with a collection agency, but this website verified it. Now I feel much better. I do have a couple of accounts with a collection agency that I have not been able to pay because I have been unemployed for three years now.

Got a call from this number & said my husband & I were involved in fraud.  Caller said I had been warned & left case # as well as a call back number. Called number given & got voice mail. Don't know what this is about. Saw something similar to this on the news & it was a scam.
