Well, twice I've received a call from a number that had an extra digit: the first time was 506-225-5579 (8) and was obviously a scam. This was a couple of weeks ago and I love giving scammers hell, so thought I'd call back and play with them. However, when I called it didn't go anywhere. So today (11/26/08) I got a call from 506-225-9822(3) and I was thinking "great! i've been waiting for this!" The person I spoke with said her name was Pashe (I had her spell it twice, so either she wrote down this scam name and sticks with it or it's her real name). She had a good speil, saying she could consolidate my credit cards and get me a low rate! So, I told her I had two cards that had a rate of 19% with balance of $4500 combined (sounded good to me). Then she asked for the issuer phone number, the full account number, last 4 of my social and my zip code. I made it up, but realistically, actually using a card I had, but changing a digit here or there (knowing from my working at a REAL card company that everything has to match). She put me on hold and came back saying that the information didn't work. I acted all confused and gave her another bogus number. As she was "checking" this, I hung up. She called me back! This number was from 678-741-5400. She is a good scammer! She thought she had a sucker hooked! So, I told her I would get my card statement - she actually held! Then she said she tried it again! This was getting good. She then asked for my bank number I had and I gave her the number SHE CALLED FROM initially. She put me on hold to check with her "manager" and that was the end of it. I have to admit, she was a smooth scammer and persistent. If she got a real job, she probably could do well!

I have received this call repeatedly, only it does not come in over my voicemail completely. Tonight, though, when I thought it was my daughter ringing through, they did reach me. Only the caller ID was acutally 062-237-0692 (try looking that one up). When they called back (repeatedly) it was the 678 number. I told them if they called back again, I would find a way to press charges. They haven't bothered me since, but I think something further should be done.

Received a call from them earlier today saying they could lower interest rates on credit cards.  Are these guys for real or is it a scam?
Times are desperate and if they are just pulling a scam for people who are hurting during these hard economic times, that is really screwed up.

Same comments as above. The caller said he was "Zero from Financial Services". I asked him for the entire name of the company and he got indignant, raised his voice and said "look, do you want to lowere your interest rate or not?" and started to become verbally abusive. I stated that I am on the do not call list and not to call me again. He kept calling and saying horrible and threats. I stated that I was going to register a complaint with the FCC (which is how we might be able to get their phone service revoked). He continued to call repeatedly, shouting obscenities at me and said he would call every day and get me and my wife and kids. Just goes to show that they don't really know who they are calling...no wife and kids here. Everyone should report this to thei local phone carrier as a harrassment complaint and to the FCC. Tell them you prefer to be kept anonymous to the people you are registering the complaint about and they will protect your identity. If they get enough complaints that are not satisfied by the service older, they can revoke their phone service.

They called from 2 different numbers...first one, which was the recorded message came from 062-282-4534 (could be a call from outside the country).
The harrassing calls came from 678-741-5400.

Without fail, these people call daily--usually both during lunch
and dinner times.  An automated voice guarantees lower interest rates
with a last chance offer that is expiring that day.  When pushing the
1 button to talk to a human, that person greets with "This is financial
services. . . "  But when I asked for the exact name of the company,
the person hangs up.  This has been going on for months even though
I am on the do not call list.

We definitely need to take action on this!

My Mom and I share a credit card, Mom is the primary card holder.....they called my Mom and conferenced me in.....said they could lower our interest rate when the credit card company wouldn't and they would be charging one of my Mom's accounts $900 that she shouldn't pay, the bank had to pay it.  She said they were governed by the FCC.....anyway, the number they called me from was 678-741-5400.....I searched it and it came up as Versa Debt....a search on Versa Debt had hits showing they are a scam company that keeps changing their names, I believe they were also known as Financial Services or Financial Corporation as well as other names.  Need to close these folks down.  Their target appears to be the elderly.  When I tried to call 678-741-5400 I couldn't get through.

I got a call from these people tonight and it all sounded to good to be true and when I pressed for more information they got hateful with me.  I ended up hanging up on them and they called me repeatedly all night long and continued leaving messages on my phone.  I think this whole thing smells a little fishy.

They called Called me and promised me that they could lower my interest rat. I told that I was not interested in what they where selling. The first lady did not identify who she was. As soon as she figured out that they where not going to get anywhere with me she passed me on to a lady called Sally. Then Sally  told that she could save me anywhere between $4000 to $5000 dollars. I told her that it sounded really great, but I wanted more information on the company that she works for. I told here to send me information in the mail about the company or did the company have a web site that I could go to. She got a little bent out of shape about that. Than she transferred to a third man who identified him self as an account manager. He went to tell that the company was the real thing, and really tried to press into the agreement that they offering for there services. Which was for that services of getting the lower rate for the credit card company or existing dept they would charge me $995 dollars. I unfortunately did give then my credit card number but  as soon as I relized that got scamed I called my card company and had the number changed.

These people call claiming they can lower your interest rates and then dig for personal information about your credit accounts that can be used for identity theft. They refuse to provide any contact information. They get vindictive if you hang up on them and will then call you repeatedly all night long. They will be extremely rude and use unbelievably foul language. They really need to be shut down.

I just received a call from this company named Financial Services Center and the caller ID was out of area - 5-062-210-1721. They sounded too good to be true as well. They wanted to lower my interest rates and guaranteed me #1 at least $4000 savings within 30-45 days and #2 they would get me debt free 5-6 times faster than if I pay my debt on my own. They also offered me a $500 gas card. Unfortunately being stupid I gave my credit card # to them but only had the statement with me so I didn't give them the expiration date. First I spoke with one man and he transferred me to an "account manager" and then when I told them I wanted to speak to my hubby first they transferred me to another lady and she said they would give me a verification # after the transaction was complete and he could call their 1-877 phone number if he had any questions. She was very pushy about me being stupid if I didn't want to save $ on interest rates. I was then forwarded to a "legal Department" and they recorded me accepting the offer. She came back on the line and asked for the representative (we were on a 3-way call) and stated that the transaction did not process. The representative said I have her on the line and then I got cut off.
I immediately called my credit card company and told them to decline any charge in the amount of $1295.00 and they said they already did because they suspected it to be fraud because they didn't have the correct expiration date. The charge was trying to go through as "Client Services".
Beware if anyone gets these phone calls just hang up or don't answer if they get a call from the above number. Afterwards I got three phone calls from DM Associates with caller ID # 1-678-741-5400 and I did not answer suspecting that it was them.
If there's a lawsuit include me in!

well it is really unfortunate that you all think that this company is a scam. They really are legal and get your interest rates decreased for you.  It is sad that you all are accusing them but have never given them a chance to see if it is fraud.  So many people are in severe debt and need help but because they are afraid they rather spend the rest of their lives paying it off loosing money versus trying to get help. I have used them personally and it worked.

I have read each and every comment on this bored, but not one of you actually used the services, so there is no proof of a scam. Yea there plan is a little suspect but me and my husband went through the whole process knowing that if this is a scam, we will take the action to get our money back!  We went from  a 19.9 on our chase card to a 6.9 just after a month and when  we recieved our packet. we also was able to put additional cards on the plan,And they actually lowered those too, not as mush as my chase but I would say all my cards together my interest rates are not over a 7.2. Maybe you all should actual try it instead of just bashing the company.

I agree with Lisa and Connie, how can you call it a scam if you never used the service?  Some people are idiots like that, especially ROS, why would you cancel a card when you only gave partial info, that speaks for your "trust" in the government and your card company to protect you.  I guess some people deserve to be in debt, because the card companies are keeping you there...the same people you "trust."  Well, Madoff if they are stupid to have their money taken, then guess what, they are having that done daily through the card companies...IDIOTS!!

you MUST call the FTC and report all these numbers as fraud. This is credit card fraud, they want your credit card number. I had them on the phone for 25 minutes and got them irate. They use computers to call and they need to be traced by law enforcement. Also call your phone company and have them trace the IP address. "Do not call" list doesnt work in this case

FTC number is 877-382-4357

Almost every night at 6pm I receive a call from 678-741-5400 or 904-259-4351 with a recording saying to stay on the line if I wish to lower my credit card rate.  After telling whoever is calling (they will not identify theirselves) to quit calling as I was on the do not call list.

I finally decided to get their attention and put a whistle beside each of my land lines.  On schedule they called tonight ad started giving their speal and I blew the whistle until they hung up.  Two minutes later I received a call from 678-741-5400.  He called me a mother f-----, assh--- and other obscentities for using the whistle, then slamed the phone down.  I wish everyone who has to be bothered by these crooks could get together and put them away in a tiny cell where there is no phone.

Just got one of these calls from a “company” calling themselves Life Change Solutions. . .sounded pretty legit at first.  To my stupidity, I gave them pretty much all the info they needed before I started to become extremely suspicious.  Once they get all your info, they inform you that an $1800 charge will be posted to your credit card, but not to pay it.  Once the promised $4000 in savings is shown, the bank actually credits you the $1800 and pays it to this  company.  I was the perfect victim, trusting and in need of lower rates.  Luckily, it dawned on me that this must be a scam. I called my credit card companies and alerted them.  They verified that it was a scam and are monitoring my account activity.  Now the phone keeps ringing every 10 minutes. . .wonder when they will give up?

I received a call tonight as well and after giving up my info realized this must be a scam. Normally I wouldn't fall for this, but they caught me off guard because I'm sick, but I called my credit card company right away and cancel my card. My caller id initially said UNKNOWN and recording said Card Services and that my credit card company was calling me, but after speaking with a representative named Anna Dickson she gave me 877-360-8814 as the call back number and the company name Life Change Solutions, but after agreeing to the fee $1795 they transferred me to Shelly @ 678-741-5400 (caller id "DM ASSOCIATES") who told me my card would be charged under the name Client Services.  Just want to warn others of their various numbers and names!

Received a call from these people yesterday (as I have for about the past months, even though I'm on the national DNC list).  Caller ID when the phone rang indicated "Private Name, Private Number."  I got the usual automated message trying to scare me into action, telling me this was the "last chance" I would have to protect my credit (or some such non-sense).  I pressed "1" to speak to a rep, then immediately launched into an obscenity-laced tirade against him, concluding my rant by hanging up on him.  Moments later, I got a call back from 678-741-5400 and the rep asked if we got "cut-off" and why I "cussed him out", which prompted yet another obscenity-laced tirade and concluded with a final hang-up.

Companies doing this are a scam, and posters like Lisa, Connie, et al above are paid shills for these companies perpetuating these scams.

Anybody who places an unsolicited phone call to you that A) tries to frighten you into immediate action, B) refuses to provide information about themselves or the company that you can follow-up on, or C) asks for personal or financial information from you, including credit card or social security numbers is a SCAM!  DO NOT fall for these scams.  They exist solely to separate you from your hard-earned money.

If you need to renegotiate credit card payments or interest rates with your CC provider, call them directly.  DO NOT trust an unsolicited 3rd party to do this for you.

"...how can you call it a scam if you never used the service?"--Karen, (another paid shill for the scammers.)

The same way people don't need to poke themselves in the eyes with sharp sticks to know it will blind them.

The same way people don't need to stick their hands in fire to know it will burn.

The same way people don't need shoot themselves in the head to know it will kill them.

Of course if you don't believe all of these things are harmful, feel free to try them.  But don't call people "idiots" for not following your idiotic example.

I received this call tonight.  I made the mistake of giving them all the info too. Then after talking to the second person, I was told that my credit card would be charged $1,495.  I asked for their website and he wouldn't give it to me.  The red flag went up finally and I said no thank you and hung up.  They did try to call me back but I didn't answer.  I called my credit card and told them what happened.  They said they were well aware of this happening and flagged my account.  They asked me to check it every day to see if any charges appeared.  Incidentally, the credit card told me that I can lower my rate directly through them for FREE.

It is truly amazing to see the INSANE number of negative comments posted on this site about this company.

I bought a Bumper to Bumper coverage back in August  of 2008.  The representative that I spoke with..I think his name was Alan...was very knowledgeable and helpful.  He guided me though all of the factors that would determine the best policy for my Ford Explorer.

I've had to use the Roadside Assistance once and I've also had to replace my water pump.  With the roadside assistance, I called the Roadside line and had my car towed in about an hour.  They got it to my dealership, and they called the Claim line on my behalf.

I did have a $100 deductible, but that was all I had to pay for my towing and for the parts and labor for my water pump (the dealer gave me a $786 estimate for the pump!).

I WILL ADMIT, I have experienced longer than normal hold times; and there was a little confusion about who was paying for my claim. But, at the end of the day, i have to think that EVERY company has something that can be done better.

Overall, I WILL recommend The Auto Protection Center to anyone that is looking for a quality coverage. DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH! That consists of MUCH more than reading a disgruntled customer's comments online!
