Well Puddy, I was "attacked" twice today and once last night by the same group that "attacked" you and, as I said, I'm not a conservative. I've lost count on my caller ID as to how many times this number has phoned. I had to change the batteries and lost all data. Bronco Bama's support group better not piss me off anymore.

YES this most certainly IS Protect America.  One trip to their website is all you'll need to see for yourself.
One of the first things you will see there is "the FBI has determined there is a home break-in every 14 seconds...bla bla bla."  I've been getting these calls for 5 YEARS and they come from all over the country.  The telemarketing is sub-contracted.  Protect America IS the one hiring them.

This number is a VOIP number that belongs to:

XO COMMUNICATIONS INC

4151 ASHFORD DUNWOODY RD NE
ATLANTA,  GA  30319-1443
(678) 444-4444 www.xo.com

I have called them and they have made it very clear that they don't care what their customers do with the numbers they issue.  All they do is stall and tell you to file with the FCC or your local police.

My suggestion is for everyone to complain many, many times about XO to your congressman, the FCC, FBI, and to local law enforcement.

The only way to stop these people is to put the companies that empower them out of business.

Call XO's main number or what they call their fraud line, 866-285-6208, and try to waste as much of their  time  as possible.  If it costs them enough money to fend off the calls maybe they will get the idea.

Harass the crap out of them!

Dave.....And a final note. The mere fact that they have called repetitively 2 times a day for the last year (only taking a brief period off for the holidays) tells me this is an "ATTACK".......Even a "SCAM" has their limits on the amount of attempts they will make. Why would they waste their time when they can easily have figured out my purpose now is to get THEM on the phone and waste THEIR time???....No buddy,,,,this is an ATTACK by some GROUP,,,and I believe it is one of Obamas support groups, perhaps "offshore" as you suggest,,,sitting around simply harassing conservatives. You can claim to be whatever YOU want,,,but I don't know you therefore it holds no credibility but my theory is open to be proven or disproven with FACTS. Until it is,,,,it is a legitimate option.

JERKS at SECURITY TECHNOLOGY SYSTEMS keep calling us! We are on a no call list! A recorded message says to press a certain number to be removed from their call list but they keep calling. Today I made a point of speaking to someone and I yelled F**K YOU into the receiver as loud as I could. I wish to God that Radio Shack had a device that would let me call their number and blow their computers up. NO CALL means just that, not, "Press 2 to be removed..." JERKS!!!!!!

To Puddentain. Really!! And if the trail leads to some offshore country beyond the legal jurisdiction of the USA, please explain how the FCC can do anything about that? I've had umpteen calls from a Caribbean island pushing a "free" security system and they speak perfect English. In fact, some Caribbean islands are under or were under British rule and their home language is English. And don't forget Canada as a source of telemarketing. They also speak English.

No, it's not a plot against "Conservatives". It's a bunch of crooks trying to get your personal information and you credit card number. It's as simple as that. Don't believe what Glenn Beck says.

There is NOTHING that the general public has available to them that is completely "UNTRACEABLE". Trust me on that one. You may want to believe that it is,,,,but it most definitely is not. You can bounce information off of multiple sources change identity multiple times,,,,it doesn't matter,,,it all leaves a trail and the technology that is available to YOU is not nearly the technology that's available to top tier Law Enforcement.

And if a "non conservative" group involved with this activity were to respond they would say exactly what YOU said. I would surmise they monitor this website (and similar sites) frequently to see what the rebuttals and complaints are so they could run damage control and gather data to administer alternate plans. Their only purpose is to harass,,,not 'scam' because who in their right mind would sign up for what they allege to be selling.

As for the "scam" being 'offshore' I might believe your argument if the callers were calling with a foreign accent. They aren't. The representatives I speak with speak PERFECT English and in one case (an alarm company) admitted to me they were located in Southern California. When I told the representative I was reporting her to the FCC she simply replied "Good luck with that". So whoever this is knows they immune for the time being.......While I don't rule out what you are saying,,,,,I also don't rule out what I am proposing because that's exactly what they would want. I just hope I can learn their exact location without their knowledge.

To Puddentain again. Another thing. Most of these numbers are ":spoofed" and that's why calling the number back is useless. It does not exist so the FCC is unable to trace it. These crooks can put anything on your caller ID to fool you. You can buy a gadget off the Internet to do it and there is also computer software that does it. With the software and using the computer you can dial a number and put anything you want to on the recipients caller ID.

To Puddentain. Your conspiracy theory about registered "Conservatives" is completely wrong. I too receive these same calls all the time and I am a registered voter. I am not a conservative. You are watching too much Fox News. The fact of the matter is that everybody gets these annoying calls. And the reason not much can be done about it, is that many of these scams are operated offshore away from the reach US laws.

This is NOT Protect America. They do not use cold calling so please don't waste your time trying to reach out to the wrong company and filing a bunch of complaints. Fortunately, I have been able to find the provider of this VOIP service, which is XO Communications. But, unfrotunately without a subpoena we cannot find out who the person/company is. File a complaint with the provider, that's how you get to the source!

Thanks so much for all your leg work.  I have filed complaints with both the FTC and Do Not Call.  I also sent an e-mail to Protect America that I will file a complaint with the BBB.  My husband is elderly and ill and sleeps a lot and these calls are really intrusive.

Just got another call 6 20 pm. I keep getting these calls from a company who say  they want to put a sign in my lawn sell security system  and says they are a security company.  Im not interested. I  have a security system I already opted out about 10 times already...  I need them to stop I am on a DO NOT CALL LIST
It comes up on my telephone from Buford Georgia
We all need to file a complaint by writing down a log of times dates etc.  but I am getting so many of these nonsense calls from different companies its like a second job... Oh I called back said #  it was not in service.

I think these companies get money per phone call... hence the phone calls...

I'm curious to know how many of these calls are being received by registered "Conservatives"....Although I currently have no proof, I have a theory that these calls are tied to some of Obamas liberal support groups like "Acorn", "Media Matters", etc....I'm not saying those to 'specifically' but those are the types of groups I'm referring to.

I say this because there are only about 2 types of these calls that are persistent. There's "Card Services" and there's a "Security Alarm" service of varying nature that call quite frequently. Just like everyone else on here, everyone asks to get removed from the call list,,,,reports them to the FCC,,,,AND NOTHING HAPPENS. Guess who controls the FCC?!?!.....And based on the VOLUME of these that are taking place I know the FCC has ample evidence and enough call tracing power to make something happen...Yet it doesn't.

So from my perspective,,,,this is an "ATTACK" on a certain group of people BY A GROUP who has immunity to the legal or investigative process administrated by the FCC. These calls are the ONLY calls I get from 'telemarketing' because the smaller companies that have been prosecuted earlier made it known not to call someone on the "DO NOT CALL LIST".............Someone has been granted immunity.

I have a friend, used her own way of dealing with 'invited callers', and they weren't telemarketers either -- she owned a whistle which she would blow rather loudly or bang a pot with a stick.  They got the message after that.

I keep getting robo calls twice a day from this number.  Trying to sell me a security system for my home.  I'm on the national do no call list but that does not stop the calls.  I've have opted out at least 10 times requesting them to remove my number but that is a joke.  Opting out seems to increase the number of calls that I get.

These guys call two or three times a day; the message is that they will install a security system for free, but the calls are always interrupted. I have told them repeatedly that I am on the do not call list and ask them to stop calling, but they keep calling. If we can get enough information on them we can take them to the Frderal Trade Commission.
