I received same message about an Item I was selling on Craigslist only from Rick Lauerman Richlauerman01@gmail.com
When I gave paypal email, I received an email from "paypal" saying he had paid more for the shipping and I was to send that to his shipper. I turned it into Paypal, Craigslist and local Sheriff's Dept.

Texted me from my phone number on Craigslist. I knew it was a scam just the way it was worded, disjointed, poor grammar, etc.

Same number text me......claim to have the name Rich and works for Turner Construction ......wants to pick up items I have listed on craigslist and wants to pay through paypal......SCAM, SCAM, SCAM
Lee 2014-05-29 21:33:07 Unknown
Yep, had a response by text message this morning from an ad I have on Craigs List. The phone no. was 678-805-6502. Same as I see all the others that reported it......wanted my e-mail address which I didnot give out. Said CL email was not working. Wanted to know where I live, also wanted my paypal e-mail address, and the pickup address to forward to the hauler who will be come for it. I pretty much recognized it as a scam. I try to stay tuned in. You do the same.

Yes, this person is apparently a PayPal scammer wannabe. She texted me to tell me she is not a good texter.....lol. I should use email to communicate. I responded that I do not conduct business via text and will need to speak directly with her. Still no response. Probably won't get one. I don't know, but she has to catch an occasional fish to keep casting her line. Wonder how much money she steals in this manner.

I listed an item on Craigslist as as per previous posters Linda Artwood at artwoodlinda@gmail.com gave me the same exact script.

I just got that same message today about my pool table
Lesley 2014-05-09 02:16:17 Unknown
Same thing happened to me today when trying to sell an antique chair on Craigslist. It seemed suspicious from the 1st text & follow up email, which is word for word the same as the other people have posted. I gave her the benefit of the doubt thinking maybe English wasn't her 1st language or something more reasonable like that & gave her my e-mail & "she" already had my phone number. She started texting me pretty much constantly once she "sent her payment", which was $780 more than I was asking for with the same explanation of paying the hauler to come get it through Western Union.
I knew then for sure that this wasn't legit because it just doesn't make sense to have me send her money to a hauler rather than do it herself directly.
No matter how many times I said I didn't agree to put any money upfront, she pushed & texted every minute or so. Then I started getting more of these fake PayPal emails saying this is 100% secure, blah blah blah. The last push she tried was another fake PayPal email saying if I could show proof that just half of the hauler fee was sent through Western Union that the full payment would be released.
She constantly kept asking if I was there through text, like every minute & I was so annoyed! I told her I was out & she kept on. So, then I told her I was asking to borrow the money to see how far she was willing to go & she went nuts saying to do it right away, so I could get my money ASAP & then continued to ask if I got the money CONSTANTLY! So then I lost it, called her on her fake logos & misspellings in these PayPal emails & old her that her scam is well known all over the internet & I am not about to be scammed.
Never heard another word.

I just received texts and emails from Linda Artwood saying that she was buying my furniture as a surprise for a friend. She asked for my PayPal account number.

Just got a text from this same scammer. Phone 678-805-6502 and email Artwoodlinda@gmail.com
Last week they used a different phone number and email but text had exact same wording.
These people are just dumb criminals and I will be glad to work with any law enforcement agency to help put them in prison.

My husband just received a text and email from this lady in response to his Craigslist ad selling a guitar amplifier. Same scam.....he replied and got a response asking for his PayPal info. He knew something wasn't right, so he forwarded me her message, because he knows I love a good Google investigation. :) And I found this page. Sad sad sad.
Jill 2014-04-27 17:41:52 Unknown
I got the same email and text. Exact wording. It is really sad when some one tries to scam you on a statue of Jesus.

Stupid scammers. I received the same message too about a couch I was selling. So i decided to goggle her/him before anything. But i guess i have to change my password to my email account now. Wish u the best and hope she doesn't take your info and use it for id theft.
Lilly 2014-04-25 20:52:25 Unknown
Same thing. She sent me the same message but i suspected to be a scam, so i goggled her/him and found this. Funny

Thought I would finish this thread with the "outcome" of the scam. Same text, then email, same exact story. I sent her my paypal email before my wife found this thread. Here's the scam. We had agreed on $1,500 for the set; I get an email (reportedly from Paypal) that $2,268 was deposited in my paypal; and to gain access to the money; I need to send a money order to the shipping company for the $768, she's sorry she didn't tell me about it, but the hauler wants to be paid upfront - so she needs me to pay the hauler with her money; and once the hauler receives the money (evidenced by putting the money order # into the "paypal" system) - the money will be released to me.
I had to cancel my Paypal account (paypal advises your email address is essentially your account #); and now need to watch for general identify theft since she has my name, work address, work phone #'s, etc. Stupid me. I'm not a young kid - and it smelled a little... scammers suck.

She was going to have a hauler service come and pickup the stuff and pay with paypal.
