I did not get a call from this number but seen an online Craigslist advertisement for a rent to own property. Googled the number and it brought up listings all over the US. I also found this site and that this number does supposed collections too. I think the company is an all around scam.

called twice today, answered 2nd call and they hing up, first call did not leave a message. Blocked the number.

This number is constantly calling, super annoying. No answer when I pick up. No voicemail... Super annoying. I did recently unsubsribe from the Detroit Free Press, but like another posting said, the Atlanta area doesn't make any sense.

It also says the mailbox is full and then when you're connected to the operator- its goes straight to a mailbox that is ALSO full.

no response when I answered.  only thing I can think of is this is one of those companies that calls, and records when I ansewer then sells info to telemarketers that inform them that I answered my phone at a certain time.  Bring back the no call list and enforce it!!

Keep getting calls from this #.  I live in Metro Detroit area.  Perhaps it is a central # for newspapers?  Anyway very irritating.  I do not answer calls from #'s I don't know but this is getting ridiculous.  I am on a do not call list.  At that point what can you do to stop it

I've gotten a lot of calls from this number and when i checked it on other sites, they said it was from lilburn georgia.

Two calls today and it it not yet 2 pm.  I was so aggravated I took the time to call the number and
got a recording; demanded that they stop calling my number.  Isn't there any teeth to the Do Not Call Registry?    There must be  some consequences for repeat offenders.

Yup, metro news. I called them back and got the same message that they are not available. Who can we report them to?

Same issue - I just canceled a Detroit Free Press subscription and these calls start coming in.  When I answer, it is just a pause and eventually a busy signal.  I am going to try calling the Detroit Free Press subscriber hotline tomorrow to see if they have more insight, unfortunately their subscriber hotline is only open until 5pm so this will have to wait.

I also cancelled my subscription for Detroit Free Press and very next day I started getting these calls. I don't know what to do.

They have been calling many times a day and not leaving any voice mail. Very annoying. The area code says GA.

I continually get this phone call on my landline and no message is ever left. I want them to STOP calling me.  I am in California and this is coming from Marietta GA!!!!!!!!

I don't want what they are trying to sell, I just want the to leave me alone!

Calls multiple times in a row. I called it back and it said Metro News. Per other comments I would assume it is the Detroit Free Press. I just cancelled my subscription so, it would make sense that they would be calling. Gannett is a national company. Their call center may be located in Georgia.

Hangs up when I answer the phone.  Caller ID says Free Press.  When you call the number the message always says "Not available."  How can they be stopped?

This number has been calling for several weeks straight.  Never a message. How the F&^K are they operating with impunity when my number has been registered in the do not call registry?

This number has called several times this week.  Today I finally answered the call and the guy told me he was from the Free Press and asked me if he could ask me 3 questions.  He asked if I use coupons from the Sunday paper and if I had read the Los Angeles Times paper in the last four weeks.  After the 3 questions he thanked me for my time and hung up.  Hopefully, I will not get any more calls for awhile.

Received several calls over several days. Called the number but it didn't even ring. Clearly up to no good. Refer to Catherine's note of 17 July 2012. I'm not picking up the phone if I don't know the caller.

Called @ 11:25AM, 12:12PM and 2:50PM.

Didn't recognize the area code or number so, didn't answer.

"No name" on call ID.

Called and did not leave a message when I did not answer due to not knowing who Free Press was.

I don't think it's the Detroit Free Press. The call comes from 678 area code, northern Atlanta. I think calls like this are just to test telephone numbers to see if they're working numbers. If someone picks up, bingo. They have a live one to add to the list they sell to telemarketers. If you don't recognize a number on your caller ID, don't pick it up if you want to avoid being on lists.

A call from this number purported to be the Los Angeles Times and said they were not soliciting but then went on to discribe coupons and savings they were going to deliver.  I told them we were not interested.   Obviously they were not who they said they were.

calls and hangs up when answered.  We are on a do not call list.
