I received the same emails and texts, from "Susan Taylor" using t.susan32@yahoo.com and 2 different phone numbers... 570-630-4810 and 919-533-9552.  They all included the same details as above... her BOSS would send check, DEAF woman, mistake in the check amount, telling me to "immediately" deposit the check and send her the difference using a VANNILA RELOAD NETWORK card.  It's a shame that this person is still active almost a year after the first posting here.  Shame on her/them/whoever is scamming people!

I also received the same information from the 919 number and her name was Jennifer Thomas.  She said she found me in the MK Look Book, however, I just started so I've only distrubted one work book and that is at my workplace.  The phone number area code doesn't match up to the Zip Code she gave me which is no where close to where I do MK at.  So glad I saw all of this before moving any further.  I was already suspicious after her first text.  Here is the email:

It looks like she changed her number. She sent me a text from 919-533-9552. Thinking it was a real order i gave her my email address. When I asked how she found me, she did not reply. Said she wanted me to place the order and send it to the address on the check that her boss would send me. I called the number and its a Google voicemail and no one answered. Thought it was weird because she kept asking for my full name, number, and address. But she had my number so when she kept repeating that in the same order I was suspicious. When I asked why she didn't answer the phone, she said she was deaf. I then asked her to call her boss so I could get the mailing address and that's when the exchanges stopped.

You can do one of three things with that "check":

1. shredded it
2. mail it back to the sender
3. take it and the instructions on whom to wire the excess money to to your bank and ask to speak with someone who handles check fraud.  Give them all the contact information including any email, phone or sms text numbers to the bank and let them determine if the check is a fraud or not.  It it turns out to be a fraud, close to 100% chance it is, they can then pass everything to the authorities to investigate.

If you want to see if she can be caught, you can always "agree" to take the order then wait for the check to arrive.  Take it and any delivery address plus the phone number and any emails to your bank and ask them to investigate as possible fraud.  If the check is bogus, they should be able to turn over all the information to the proper authorities for further investigation and hopefully arrest and prosecution.

Received a text from this number asking if I sold Mary Kay (I do). Asked for my email to place an order. I provided, then got a very suspect sketchy email asking for my FULL name, home address and phone number. She (name was Karen Cox) said she got my phone from the Look Book, but when I asked how she got the look book, I got more ambiguous answers. The email was asking for product to be sent, and that she would have her BOSS send a check as she "don't use CREDIT CARD" (caps hers). Again, red flag, telling me that check would probably be fraudulent. So yeah, beware.
