They called and didn't leave a msg so I called back and it says it's a collection agency.

These are skip tracers working for AMP looking to get information for debt collectors!
AMP works for Phillips Cohn and Federated Law Group

This person calls and hangs up the phone when you answer.  They know several of my friends cell phone and home phone numbers.  We are reporting this number to the police.

What legitimate business is going to risk fines for violating the no call list, notwithstanding the fact that half the time it comes across as unknown caller?  You guys are all smart to look up their website and discover that they do not telemarket.

THINKS ITS A DEBT COLLECTOR.CALL THEM BACK AFTER 7 CALLS IN 24 HOURS PERIOD AND SPOKE TO THEM , AND IT "SEEMED" THEY WERE MORE INTO WHO THEY WERE SPEAKING TO, THAN ANY THING ELSE IE DEBT COLLECTORS.

Boy they are really digging for information.  I got a call today asking for my daughter in law, who has never lived at my house or had my phone number.  

I suspect they are a collection agency not a telemarketer, because no telemarketer goes to the trouble of asking for people who do not live in the house and who do not use the address or phone number.

By the way, I would be double extra wary of anyone who fraudulently represents themselves to be "Child Services" as the previous commenter indicated.

ID on phone said Georgia Call - Told secretary they were Child Services - I answered and they were then Grant a wish foundation.  She had trouble reading her script.  I get a call from them about twice a month, this time I just paid more attention before refusal.  I guess I will just get creative the next time they call.

Caller stated she was from "wish foundation".  Make A Wish Foundation states that they do not use telemarketers. The scam artist did not know how to say children (chiren) even though it was in her script over a dozen times.  Do not give these people your money, much less your credit card number. by the way Make A Wish is based in Phoenix AZ, this call was from Roopville GA.

Right, Anna.  You "wish" you were so certain.  Perhaps you were actually lead to believe the caller was a Black woman, which was all a part of their plan. MUHAHA! Next time, consider adding a disclaimer to your post, stating that your assertions may BE WRONG! Oh and please learn to spell before you judge someone you've never seen before as having less than par intelligence. Live and LEARN:

caller asked for our business owner, when he was not available, the caller refused to leave a message and then hung up abruptly.

These people are RELENTLESS!! They're calling MULTIPLE times A DAY (I've counted 10x today) all from DIFFERENT NUMBERS!! Total scam!! DO NOT ANSWER!!!
520-678-8299, 972-961-7920, 773-409-4805, 678-853-5044.....all of those numbers have called my phone today AT LEAST 3x's each!! And they're all for "Donor Services"/"Wish Foundation".
It is the same people using different numbers because every time I've answered it, IT IS THE SAME LADY! (I haven't answered today, but last week I did and it was her!!)

Register you phone with the national do not call site then report them!  https://www.donotcall.gov/register/reg.aspx  If they get enough reports, they will investigate it.

I keep getting calls from this number and no one answers before i finally hang up

I got a call from 678 853-5044 and also from Illinois 773 409-4805
and she said she was from the Make A Wish Foundation.  I told her I give no money over the phone and hung up.  So they are using both of these numbers.  It was also a Black woman that called me by my first name.  There was all kinds of noise in the background.

This person called from this number and said that they represented "youth services" and needed to talk to me, as if they were working for the government or something

every day odd time like before 9 am on Saturdays

I keep getting calls from the same Black woman who speaks very unintelligably.

I got a call from this number and answered thinking it was a friend from Atl; the person asked for Mrs. Eva and I stated wrong number and hung up...will not answer again!

NO MESSAGE. CALLED AND LEFT NO MESSAGE. DO NOT WANT THEM TO CALL AGAIN. WE ARE ON THE NO CALL LIST.

Is there a way to get rid of these calls?

I didn't answer. No message. From reading posts from above, obviously a SCAM. If they call back one or two more times, it will be time to do the ole block the call routine.

I got that number and 801-214-9653 right afterwards.  Of course I let it go to voicemail because if I don't know who is calling on the caller ID I don't answer.  I am even on the do not call list, but since it's a scam and not a "legitimate" business I get told there is nothing we can do.

Saw the number on caller ID.  No name.  Picked up the receiver and hung up.  Twice!  I have to do this a lot!  You should see my list of "unwanted" calls.  Hope they get the message.
