Yup - same scenario. Caller ID says Bobby Hales. The background noise indicates it's absolutely a call center. They say there is "Government Money" available for saving energy. I don't know what the scam is but there's one there somewhere.

Have received several calls this week from this phone number. I do not answer and no message is left on my voice mail. The number comes up on caller ID with the name "Wireless Caller". Very aggravating. Calling the number gives the message "This number is not reachable" then some kind of error code I suppose. I have put this number on call block but I only have capacity for 6 blocked numbers and this make number 5, all of them calls like this one.

We have received several calls from this number and nobody is on the line.  When we call back we get a recorded message saying this is an unresponsive number.  How do we get them to stop calling?

Didn't answer, but had the name "Bobby Hales" in CID. No message was left, either. I'm thinking of getting rid of my landline phone, altogether, but I'm worried that the more people who do this, the more open our cell phones will be to this type of harassment! A rock and a hard place, definitely!

The USA Energy Group is a hard sell organization that has found a way to simulate "Wireless Caller" on incoming Caller ID systems. Sometimes a name actually appears, but when you answer the call, you find you are speaking with a solicitor in a call center. Although they claim they are not selling any products or services, they ask about your credit rating and insist that your spouse be present for an 'energy survey'. I refused the request. Subsequent research on the WWWeb reveals that USA Energy Group has primarily operated out of Florida using the same tactic: Caller ID shows "Wireless Caller". They used to target only Florida consumers, but now have apparently moved on to Georgia.
