you know I did that and they still call me I don't know what to do

Received several calls from this number checked with goggle and it said it was a number in Fort Worth TX  but belonged to the Ohio DOC what in the world.

I too am getting calls from the same # and live in Montgomery County. Do you live in Montgomery County too or is this prisoner trying to scam in different states/counties? I only ask because I am recieving multiple calls a day and definitely don't know anyone in jail. This is obviously a scam as there are countless people being called that have no affiliation to one another.

I kept getting calls from 682-200-6506. It is the Virginia Correctional Facility trying to obtain permission to allow an inmate to dial your number. If you do not know anyone by the name that is the recorded message, you can call Mr. Zeda at 804-674-1536 to request the calls be stopped. Good luck.

This number keeps calling me And leaving half voice mails so I called the 1800 number listed above and after speaking to a customer service rep I was told they can not put me on the block list unless I know the name of the facility calling me. I have no idea who would be calling me or from where, help would be greatly appreciated!

i keep getting phone calls from this number and i dont know anyone in jail in ohio where I live or in that case anywhere. i keep getting them at the sssame time of the day at 5:20-6:00 pm for the last few days

I got my first phone call from a prisoner named Fred. Which I do not know any Fred's. I let it go to voicemail. I'm not to concerned I know it's someone looking for someone to accept their calls and it won't be me.

Unknown person keeps calling my cell phone.  Please remove my number for list.

Keep getting calls from this number - recording saying someone named David is in Va. Dept of Corrections and wants to add our number to his call list.  Know no one in prison.

This number called me and asked the same questions, Ohio Department of Corrections, As requested that your phone number be added to his or her allowed list of numbers to dial. In order for this offender to call you in the future we will need your consent. Please answer the following questions. But you know a person authorized to make decisions for this telephone number. Press 1 for Yes, press 2 for no yes make your selection now. Sorry I didn't get that. Please choose from the following options,   an inmate  :Daniel"  and I could hear him say his name.  It was someone I knoe and love very dearly.  I answered yes to the questions.

I started getting calls from this number a few days ago. I get these calls about 6 times a day. I don't know any incarcerated offender. I pushed the numbers to block receiving calls but I keep getting them. I called Global Tel Link, and they wanted my name and address and telephone number so they could set up an account. I told them I don't want to set up an account, I want the calls to stop. They said in order to get them to stop, I have to create an account with a passcode. After I do that, then I can use the passcode to block calls. This is a crock of crap. I asked them how I got into the system to begin with and they said someone has my number. This smells really fishy to me.

Missed a call from this number, if you call it back it says that it is Global Tell Link and that an offender serviced by one of their facilities is trying to contact you to get your number approved. It then gives you a number to call to get off their call list or you can wait to have them call you back and accept the calls from offender.

I received this call but after all the info I was not connected to speak to my grandson who is incarcerated there.  Was this just to verify that I will accept calls from him?

they call non stop i filed a complaint with  the National Do Not Call Registry.

I want the calls to STOP, they are coming from the Montgomery County Jail in Dayton, OH.  

I also want to know who is the inmate that is calling

I have received 15 calls now on 15 days from this number to my cell phone. How do I get this to stop? I don't even know how anyone got my cell phone number. Thanks!

I too am getting this call stating its from an inmate trying to add my number to their liist. I too have said no, they continue to call 3 times a day. they tell you to call 1-800-231-0193 to get your number removed. you cannot get a hold of anyone. I am sure it is some sort of scam and intend to get police involved.

I'M A CORRECTIONAL OFFICER IN PA AND DON'T KNOW ANYONE IN OHIO. I ANSWERED THE PHONE CALL FROM THIS NUMBER ONCE AND THOUGHT I HAD IT BLOCKED BUT I'M STILL RECEIVING CALLS FROM GLOBAL TEL LINK. MY PHONE HAS A 817 AREA CODE AND THE INMATE TRYING TO GET THROUGH ON THIS NUMBER PROBABLY IS TRYIHG TO GET WHOEVER HAD THIS NUMBER BEFORE ME. I'M TIRED OF BEING HARRASSED BY THIS CALLER.

I got several calls from this number last week and never answered, because I didn't know the number.  When I finally called it back and realized what it was, the number never called again!!   When I called another number it said that the automated system would call me 3 times a day for 5 days.  What happens if you don't answer those 5 days?  Does that number that calls seeking permission to add you to an offenders call list ever call again or do they give up after 5 days??   Anyone know???  Just trying to figure out if they'll call me again!

OK so I do not know anyone named "Slick" who happens to reside in a facility run by the Ohio Department of Correctons & I surely did not APPROVE accepting calls from him (nor did Ed) and no one else answers the phone here. SO Global Tel*Link you darn well better have deactivated the alleged approval and the phone calls requesting us to approve him to call us better stop!

I followed the instructions on http://www.drc.ohio.gov/web/phone_services.htm to stop it and the lady I talked to was not very nice and insisted it had been approved by us.  Give it a try & I hope it works for you & for me!

I just got a call from this # and didn't answer it. Caller ID said it was from 'accept offender'. Strange that yesterday a call came in from something listed as 'policeprotection' when I answered that one there was nobody on it.

A friend is in an Ohio prison but he wouldn't call me because he knows I can't afford it. Could it be one of those scams where a prisoner is trying to charge a call to our phones? Anyone finds out please let me know.

I called the number back, and it is someone attempting to call COLLECT from a prison. they gave me an option to call a number and get further information.

I called the number the lady was surprisingly very nice to me and simply said its the company that someone goes through while locked up to attempt to call collect. She also told me that its common for inmates to make up numbers in hopes of finding someone of the opp. sex to just conversate with while being locked up. She asked if I would like to be blocked and I quickly said PLEASE. She assured me that my number would be blocked from that company from anyone using it in the prison to call me. Ive had my number for 5 years, and they wanted to tell me that they were looking for someone named AMY. So annoying, and not to mention CREEPY! My Husband and I most certainly do NOT know of anyone in Prison and find it harrassing to have them calling us like this. So hopefully this fixes the problem, if not, and we get another call I have no problem making a huge scene about it.

This A-Hole has been contacting me twice a day for over a week.  I never picked up and they always leave half a voicemail b/c the automated message starts yacking as soon as my voicemail intro starts.

Thanks for this info.I just had this number call me a little bit ago & missed it.I too had no idea what in the heck it was.A friend of mine is in prison in Ohio. Hope I don't miss the next one! & I'm glad I used Google ;)

I got the same call from Accept Offender and even though I don't know any prisoners, I do recall a pen pal website I signed up to and have gotten emails in the past to accept prisoner pen pals. I wonder if this could be related?

I just got a call from them around 11:15 this morning and it was for an offender incarcerated in Ohio.  I don't know anyone in jail, so . . .

how do you know if your number was added or not?
