I got a call saying I owe money for a loan. I had to be in court in California on a certain date. If I don't show up then they will have local authorities arrest me. They called my job 10 in two days about it. Saying I need to pay. Or hire an attorney to come to court.I live in NC. I told him no, I wasn' tpaying him a dime. He go very loud and tried to over talk me. My own husband don't do that to me. I told him to send the police. I hung up and haven't heard from them since. This was in 2011. I work at a hospital and I don't know how they got my work number. I had just started working there and didn't know the number that well myself. CRAZY!!!

Some foreign speacking guy calls, says he is from a Sheriff's office. What a Putz!

Called again. Said  Det. Jack Daniels (come on) If I don,t respond will have local police outside my work to arrest me.  Said he was from the fraud squad. This has been going on for months. They call my work , sometimes as many as three times a day. I,m afraid I,ll get fired because of the calls. How can they get away with this? My mother who is 70 has to put up with these phone calls every day. They don't stop. There is another phone # you have to watch out for also. Same threats as this one. 408-905-1574

I received a call stating if I don't make a payment the was rejected from my back within an hour they will send the paper work in an I will go to jail. I plan on making this payment.

They have called me 8 times today and when I tried to call back, the number is busy. The guy said his name is " Detective Daniel Carter - badge # 9186." You guys are right. Middle Eastern - don't tell you who they work for and threaten you with arrest. something needs to be done about these people. They are harrassing and you can't understand a word they say.

I do indeed owe money toward a payday loan and these people continue to call and harrass me concerning money in amaount that I know I do not owe.  It almost scarred me so much to the point where I was not going to go to work; Im a teacher...then common sense kicked in...you can not be arrested for debt.

These people need to be found out and persecuted!!!!!!

Just received the same phone call... with the same man threatening me to go to jail for not paying back a supposed online loan I took out a few months ago.  I asked him for the company's phone number which he couldn't provide, and told me I took out a loan for somewhere between $400-$500.  He also said he would be issuing a warrant and I would be jailed for 9 months starting tomorrow.  After receiving the phone call I was partially relieved to have read that others are getting the same call.  I have contacted the FTC and my local police department... however when they just called back I told them they were a scam and they started to start calling my bosses phone.  Very irritating.

Illegal Debt Collections. Callers have Thick Middle Eastern or Indian Accents. They state they represent Investigative Services for the United States Government. They threaten with arrest if you do not provide them with payment for a debt that they claim you owe. They are extortionists. Please contact Consumer Affairs and file a formal complaint if you receive a call from this organization. DO NOT SEND THEM MONEY or provide them with any financial information.1-877-FTC-HELP

Its a scam about fake legal actions. They want to scare you into making a payment. Probly stole my info from a payday loan site.

Just got the same call, when I told them that it was nothing more than a scam they hung up on me....hopefully someone can shut them down the phone calls are harrasing...

Got a call from this INDIAN F***!!!! I went to the police station and reported the call.. How you like them apples!!!

It's a scam.  They used a 800 number a month ago.  They are trying to get money out of you.  Filed a report and had the 800 canceled.  Now they are trying another way.  Report them and hopefully the authorities will shut these people down.  Please don't give them any money or your information.  It's a scam.  Unfortunately, some have been scammed already.  Just pray that the authorities will shut them down so others will not be taken advantage of.
