Unwanted calls - my number is on the do not call list
ballet 2013-06-19 19:49:26 Unknown
This is not a government call....

I got msg was from a loan modification company
Michael 2013-05-01 21:51:19 Unknown
Telling them to take your number off their list is pointless.
They don't have a list, they have a computer that dials millions of numbers,
and yours rings cause it's a working number.

I called back and verified the OPT out feature.. thanks

An automated message about adjusting mortgage rates. I receive these calls despite not even having a mortgage.
The prompts at the end state "Press 1 for a representative, press 3 to be reoved from our list." So press 3 from the beginning and be done with it.

Quit calling my phone
Lucy 2013-04-26 18:40:52 Unknown
I down loaded a free app on my cell phone called "Calls BlackList". It works great once you blacklist the number. No unwanted numbers get through.

Call from this number. Didn't answer. No message, On the DNC list
Lois 2013-03-29 19:03:55 Unknown
Never leaves a message, calls repeatedly several times each week.

These a** holes keep calling me twice a week even after I told them 2 to 3 times to delete my number from their list
Chryssa 2013-03-22 20:18:05 Unknown
I get calls two or three times daily from this annoying number between other anonymous calls for one or another reason. I owe no house, I owe nothing I pay rent and everything else, why they keep calling me? I wish it was something I could do to get permanent rid of these calls. Usually what I do is when I recognize an anonymous number i pick up and hung up right away.

Mortgage refinancing robocall.
Injuneer 2013-03-22 17:45:52 Unknown
If you think calling them and "opting out" will stop these calls, you are incredibly naive. If you think calling the FTC, FCC or the DNC list will stop these calls, you are even more naive. These are robo calls, made by a computer, simply dialing number in sequence. The computer could care less if you are on DNC. The number you see on your caller ID is "spoofed", not the real number. These calls are made via intricate VOIP switching schemes. If you think this has anything to do with Obama or with your specific mortgage, you are naive. All they want to do is get a credit card number or a bank acount number, so they can rip you off. DO NOT ANSWER. DO NOT CALL BACK. Complain to your US Senator or Representative that you want the robo calls stopped. The phone companies could do it, but they don't care. Maybe the Feds can light a fire under them.

It's a loan MOD company. They left a recorded message.
Nancy 2013-03-21 21:44:46 Telemarketer
I keep receiving calls from this number and it goes into an automated message. This is for mortgage modificiation and I do NOT have a mortgage and I am on the DO NOT CALL list. Annoying!
chriser 2013-03-20 21:20:51 Unknown
I've been getting out of state calls aswell on my cell phone. My phone has an option where I can block all calls from numbers that are NOT listed in my contact list. The phone hardly ever rings now. and its been nice. and Verizon will let you block up to 5 numbers without signing up for that service.

AlexH 2013-03-18 16:01:17 Unknown
We get calls from this number and so many more. They never leave VM but it is terribly annoying.
Cannot get the Feds to stop them, even with our number on the Do Not Call list!

P.lane 2013-03-11 16:53:37 Unknown
I did it. Thank you for your help. I just called the number back and it gave me the option to opt out and remove my number.
jay 2013-03-09 20:46:06 Unknown
Because they are illegally calling in violation of the DNC Registry List. The DNC does not block calls.
jay 2013-03-09 20:42:52 Unknown
The do not call registry does not block any calls. It is just a list of people who do not wish to be called by telemarketers (Telemarketing=Telephone sales of goods or services) It is required by the government that all businesses who engage in Telephone sales, purchase and maintain a current list or they get a hefty fine. It is easy for the FTC to find those who violate since they are legitimate businesses anchored by the necessities of doing business at a permanent location . Those in a boiler room somewhere in India are going to be impossible to punish. There are exemptions to the Registry. However, most of those unwelcomed calls that are complained about on this board using the DNC as reference, are from Scammers, fake collectors, and illegal callers that the DNC is helpless against. Since it is a list and operates solely on the honor system, by legitimate businesses, anyone who wishes to violate it can and will. A real good quality Call blocker is the best bet in defending. Although there are others, I personally use a Digitone and use the universal area code blocking. Only those in my area code and on my white list get through. You never hear a phone ring unless its someone you know.

Anyone knows how long before "donotcall" after entered the numbers you want to block? I'm guessing too long because those telemarketers are too clever in changing their numbers from time to time before they get blocked and you always ended up getting another call from them. Of course the telemarketers simply ignore their blocked number because they just change their phone number every so often anyway.
My solution, simply refuse to pick up any unknown calls. Since I don't get real calls from outside my state, it's not too hard to ignore 99% of the telemarketers.
That's the life we live in because there's no real law quick enough to stop the telemarketers.
If you ever ask any phone provider if they have any solution, they will all say none even some selling phone that has built-in block numbers. The point is even phone providers don't want to help because they get paid for every telemarketers that use their line. It's all about making more money.

just got a call, debt consolidation. pressed one to talk to a "counselor" named "jill" and told her that she had a pretty voice, she hung up. in the past i have asked other debt consolidation "counselors" (in my best Smeagol/Gollum voice) what they are wearing. it's annoying to get these calls, but i like to have fun when i can. and besides, i'm sure it gives some of them something to talk about with their other debt consolidation "counselors" at lunch, right?
lilbit 2013-03-08 18:55:15 Unknown
I just received a call from this number and no one responds. I am so annoyed at these calls. I don't believe it is a debt collector because they will respond.
Joann 2013-03-08 01:44:56 Unknown
Yes,
I hear breathing and similar sounds and it is very scary. I do have a hacker and I know who it is, but I don't know the person's real name. I met him on a Bob Dylan forum. Is anybody else on a Dylan or music forum because I believe it is a person and NOT a complany that is making these calls. Joanna
Joanna 2013-03-08 01:43:02 Unknown
This number calls at least once weekly and they never say anything when I pick up. They stay on the phone until I hang up. There have been a lot of complaints about this number on this website. I don't know if it is a debtor as I only have one debt that I owe or if it is a stalker/hacker and I have somebody who is hacking into my computer and if it is that person, he is apparently cyber stalking other people. I do not get the feeling that it is a company calling; I think it is a person. Please help to stop this person from making these calls. Is there an agency that you report hackers and unwanted callers to???? Thanks, Joanna Kopf
