So tired of these harassing calls. I also have reported tot he do not call list. I have waited for a live person only to be hung up on immediately. I wish we could all launch a massive law suit. It may not shut'em down but I would at least like them to pay out the whazoo for endless harassing.
And when you call the number back, it says it is a non-working number belonging to the Pacific Telecommunications Group.

Steve Hamilton, Estela Hamilton, and Michael Pittman of Pacific Telecom Communications Group are the ones behind these scams. The have registered as a public utility in several states in an attempt to shield themselves from their illegal telemarketing activities.
What makes it so comical is that Steve Hamiliton actually applied and was granted utility status in at least one state simply using a Gmail account and a bogus phone number.

Call Steve Hamilton @ PACIFIC TELECOM COMMUNICATIONS GROUP 213-825-1100
He owns the rights to that number but tells me it's not a current working number. Perhaps some additional pressure will jog his memory.

My God, the profit on these Reduce Your Credit Card Rate offers must be astronomical. They've been calling me multiple times per day all summer long. Nothing discourages them. Someone has hit the jackpot with this scheme. How I pity those who fall for their pitch.

Have called me twice today. I don't answer calls from people not in my address book. Could this be yet another number from that Cali company? We may never know as there is no message on the voice mail.
Ruth 2011-06-06 20:54:12 Unknown
they just called me and I am on the Do Not Call list!? As a matter of fact, after I reg. on the Do Not Cll list, the phone calls started!?
Arthur 2011-06-06 20:54:12 Unknown
That is because the do not call list is the best resource for marketing companies outside the US (since they do not have to obey US law) as well as those using VoIP and changing the callerID and caller name to attempt to convince you to part with your money..
I don't think so 2011-06-06 20:54:12 Unknown
anon is incorrect, and probably part of the scam.
Red 2011-04-26 21:38:48 Unknown
if you call that number and it gets answered then it IS a working number.

Calls repeatedly, but doesn't leave a message. The caller ID shows it as "North Dakota".

Call quest at 1800-582-0655 and place a request against the number"
The recording that I listened to by dialing 1-800-582-0655 states that telemarketers have the right to call your phone with pre-recorded messages. Sometimes the machine will disconnect before you have a chance to respond.
This is not correct !! There is a $500 fine/penalty for every instance of a telemarketer using automated recorded messages to call your phone EVEN if you have not registered with the Do Not Call Registry.Their machine terminating the call either accidentally or purposely does not excuse them from the provisions of this law. Sounds to me like Quest is part of the scam.

Recorded message from Google Business Directory asking if owner wants to be published press1, if not press 2, then was disconnected. Curious to see if "Fire Safety" calls back as another buisiness.....

I HATE TELEMARKETING CALLS 2010-08-14 18:02:44 Telemarketer
Recorded call for debt relief. Got a call yesterday and today and am on the do not call list. Called the number back yesterday and got a message that the number was not in service. Called the number back today and got a recording to press "1" if I wanted to be taken off the call list but it could take up to 72 hrs to process. Great.
I ended filing a complaint at this link (http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm) and on the do not call list registry page (https://complaints.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx?panel=2).
I realize the complaints probably won't do anything but at least it made me feel a little better. Yes, I have become one of "those" people but after 5 pre-recorded calls from 3 different companies in 2 days I am slowly going insane. Hopefully PrivacyStar (Google it) comes to the iPhone soon - blackberry people can get it now.
I would love to come up with an awesome prank/payback for these worthless companies.....
