I received the same kind of call. I have only ever had 1 "payday" load previously, and I paid it off. I just started another loan, and had received a call not 5 minutes before from the office of the loan I owe, so I know it's not them. They are harrassing me at work, and I want them to STOP!

Follow up: This is a definite SCAM....but a good one. The give away(s) are the no# is a cell number and the supposed legal documentation is not on any company letter head and I can't find a legit listing for this office of "lawyers". They get by with the scare tactic of threatening a civil suit, but with a little help from the internet and a few calls from my cousin in Secret Service(gotta love the family connection!) I was able to debunk it all!!!!

Got a message that they were going to serve civil papers on me due to a delinquent online payday loan. I'd dealt with some in the past so "sounded" ligit. Until I did some research and discovered that they are calling from a cell phone. Now why would a ligit lawyer's office be calling from a cellphone, not a land line? BE WARNED. They said my case no# is L20078. sounds real fishy.....I dunno.
