I'm getting calls from that number too.  How do I stop it.  Did you ever discover the name and address of the actual caller and a real number to call them back?  Please email me at rdb4179@mailinator.com.  This is a disposable email address in case anyone reading this whats to spam me.

This is a company trying to sell PRESCRIPTION DRUGS. I, too, requested SEVERAL times to be taken off their bogus "customer list." The caller often spoke very little English and had a strong Oriental accent. Cannot remember the name of the company; I began filtering ALL calls. Since I do not give out my cell number, I do not know how they got it [before cell "do not call" list], but I blocked it there. It took over a year for them to stop calling.

Block this number from any ATT landline. Use Selective Call Rejection- listen to dial tone, press *60 and follow directions.  Make sure to press 3 at the end to activate the blocking.  Verizon also offers incoming call blocks.  Check on their website. Both work like magic - the calls have stopped. Good luck!

That's exactly what's happened to me. Same thing. Some pharmacy. I've asked multiple times to be taken off of there call list. I've called the number and pressed option 1, but it's only made it worse, I think probably because they know someone owns that phone number. My recommendation? Don't pick up, don't call back, don't press 1. Don't make the mistake I made. Trying to get placed on the federal no call list.

(2) Do you ever get those annoying phone calls with no one on the other end?

This is a telemarketing technique where a machine makes phone calls and records the time of day when a person answers the phone.

This technique is used to determine the best time of day for a 'real' sales person to call back and get someone at home.

What you can do after answering, if you notice there is no one there, is to immediately start hitting your # button on the phone, 6 or 7 times as quickly as possible. This confuses the machine that dialed the call, and it kicks your number out of their system. Gosh, what a shame not to have your name in their system any longer!!!

So i completed this survey several months ago, hoping it would make them stop calling.  I made some stuff up about having multiple dogs, etc. all of the information I gave them was bogus.  Including my first name "Melissa".  After completeing the survey, I was left alone by this particular surey (until the last week).  BUT after completing the survey I recieved multiple calls from a KELOWNA company asking for "Melissa".  Coincidence?  I wish I could remember the name of the company...

I have been getting one to two calls PER DAY from this phone number. They won't stop calling my cell. They call from 8:30am to 9:00pm.  I just finished getting my first call at 10:57am. Now when I see their number I just hit the disconnect button. They never leave a message and just keep calling and calling and calling.

This is definitely not a phone call from SMR Research Corp.  I work for SMR Research in Hackettstown, NJ, and we do not call residential numbers.  We are a financial research company who only does business with banks, thrifts, and credit unions.  Our number is 908-852-7677, so I don't know why this number is showing up with our company info.

Same deal.  They call at least once a day, sometimes twice, going on for over a year.  Occasionally they don't hang up in time and my machine records some "hello? hello?" and I hear other people talking in the background.

I'm in Washington, DC, so there is no targeting of Canada/BC.  Between these guys, those trying to sell me painkillers and just yesterday someone called and said they were a DEA agent (Eric William) and it was super urgent I call them back immediately, I'm about to lose my mind (I googled said "agent's" tel number and it appeared on several websites like this one).  I'm tempted to answer one of these times and tell them that my wife is an FBI agent and that it is a federal offense to impersonate a federal law enforecement official (true).

OK...My mother-in-law just answered a call from this number.  A woman then said to her, "You're gonna die!"  We tried calling back and got the recorded message: "Your call cannot be completed as dialed".  A second try got "All circuits are busy.  Please try your call again later."  This was at around 9:30 AM EST.  We are in Hamilton, Ont., Canada.

Hubby answered this time.  Woman's voice with many voices in the background:  "Is this the man of the house?"  Hubby: "Yes, now go f*ck yourself!"  She hung up for some reason....LOL

This company called me trying to sell something to do with Pharmacy services. I told them I do not need their service, then I kept getting 3-4 calls a day but no one was there when I answered. Finally today, they called and I talked to the person on the other end and explained about receiving calls and not wanting they services. I also said, that if I received any more calls, I would be filing a complaint with the South Dakota Attorney General Office. He said they would put me on the do not call list.... we will see..
