This "company" is very pushy. They are relentless and talk over you when you request to be removed from their call list. They claim to be exempted from the federal Do Not Call list. They also claim to be working for the federal government or calling based upon "a recent bill that was passed by Congress." When I asked what credit card company they were calling in reference to, they stated "all credit card companies. Yeah, real legit. They are phishing for information and I am very concerned they will catch unknowing individuals. I wonder how many credit card numbers they have illegally gathered. Please report.

That's exactly what happens. Someone asked me for all of the phone numbers I have so that they could put them on a "do not call" list. That would just add them to their call database. Remeber, they are scammers.

That doesn't work. All that does is tell them that your number is a working number and they will surely call you back---more often.

good luck there.  I have dialed every number they tell me in order to be removed from the list, they still call every week.  I have talked to a person and told them to remove me from the list and one person said "now why would I do that?" in a very sarcastic voice.  They use different numbers but the same area codes so no point in blocking them.  I wish I could block an entire area code.  406- is another popular area code for these calls.  Congress must be exempt from these calls otherwise they would have fixed the problem via legislation.

They did it again (the last time was Aug. 22). Same damn thing - recorded call from "Financial Services" with their phony credit card pitch. Caller ID shows Center, ND and their number.

I filed a complaint with the FCC:
http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm

and with the National Do Not Call Registry:
https://www.donotcall.gov/default.aspx

Once your phone number is registered (includes cell phones too) it does not expire.

The callers are "work from home" people that are paid by the number of completed calls they make, whether they sell something or not. I have one moron that has called me repeatedly since June 2011. Calls all times of the day trying to catch me. What he does not know is that I saved his number in my Contact list as JUNK 8. When the phone rings, that number shows up with the name. JF

This number and many others listed here are "Spoofed" calls from Debt Collectors and/or Skip Tracers trying to track you or someone else down. The number that appears on your caller ID is not the actual number that they are calling from. It is illegal for them to do so, but most people don't realize whats happening or don't know how to have it stopped..

I just called the FTC and filed a complaint.  They also suggested that I call my state's Attorney General's Office.  I called them (the Attorney General) and they were fully aware that this scam is taking place.  It's is a phone scam that is being run from outside of the country.  They phish for US phone numbers (hense the 701 area code and why the phone number changes periodically) and they try to get your personal information and credit card numbers so they can steal your identity.  She said there was nothing that they could do because they are operating outside the US.  She also said DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, GIVE OUT YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION OR CREDIT CARD NUMBERS.  She also said if you don't answer, eventually they'll stop calling.

Just got a call from this company a few minutes ago on my cell phone.  They called my cell and my house phone a couple of times over the last couple of weeks.  They talk about reducing your credit card rate to between 0% and 6% if you own more than $6000 in combined credit cards, so I hit # 1 since this was an opportunity to talk to someone and see what they were really about.  She said she was from something like "Associated Services" - I regret not asking her to repeat it.  I asked her what kind of company it was that was sponsoring this offer and she hung up on me.  Sounds to me like they want to gather your personnel information and your credit card information and do some kind of identity theft.  When you question them or sound half-way intelligent, they hang up on you. I'm going to call the FTC as recommended above and report them.  I get this gut feeling they're not to be trusted.  I'd advise NOT to give ANY INFORMATION to them if they call.  I just feel sorry for the senior citizens out there that can be scammed because they trust everyone and just don't understand what these scammers are trying to do to them.

Recieved a call on my cell from 701-920-9340 today (9/1/2011).    I didn't answer because I didn't recognize the number.   Decided to google the number and found these posts with complaints about this number.  I'm finding out more and more it's best to 'Google' before you answer a call or make a big purchase.  Wish I had Googled my Toshiba Satelite laptop before I purchased it..  The laptop itself is not bad for the money, but I've read a lot of complaints about the charger which usually shorts out in a few months.   My charger shorted out in 4 months and I had to spend over $60 with shipping & handling to purchase a new one.

You need to contact the FTC not the FCC. I spoke with the FCC on the phone about this company and they informed me that this was a Federal Trade comission issue because this company is asking for credit card info. I spoke with the FTC and the are aweare of this scam and looking into it.

Contact the FTC 877.382.4357.

They will give you a case number.

has been callling my cell and or home phone stating they can lower my credit card interest fees up to 5% or so. i asked what credit card company they are with and she responded they represent mastercard, visa and discover and also over 500 banks. she said i qualified because of on time payments. said i also would need at least 6000 in debt, and i needed to give her the account numbers i asked what her company name was and she said Associated Financial. i asked for a number i could call her back that i was at work and wanted to call my credit card companies to make sure this was ligit. and she said she only does outbound calls. and to call back the number that appeared on my phone. 1-701-920-9340 but this number only has a message, it does not get answered.
she also said that after i gave this info out that another representative calls back to handle your account and then you would be given a direct number

AH! These people have been calling my cell non-stop. They even called twice yesterday! I finally listened to the whole "this is your final chance to lower your credit card rating..." blah-blah BS just so I could see if there was an option to speak to a person. Surely enough, I could "press 1" to speak to a CSR. He said hello and the first words out of my mouth were, "Hi, I need you to STOP CALLING ME!" He hung up.

Is there any harm in answering and messing with them for a few minutes? I get free incoming minutes and wish they wouldn't call while I was at work so I could give them all sorts of runarounds. My HTC smartphone has the option to save numbers and send them straight to voicemail. When I get sick of messing with these scammers I'll just send them to voicemail!
