You do realize that posting a message here doesn't somehow send it to the person making those calls, right?

NON-FUNCTIONAL assistance from the FCC, FTC, Do Not Call List and the resulting 24 hour daily harassing calls that the public must endure daily .....

Hello CBS NEWS' Investigative Scam Department (  scams@cbsnews.com  ).  Last night I also sent a similarly insightful e/mail directed to your Los Angeles, CA Investigative Reporter, David Goldstein.  With that plea for investigative assistance I also furnished among other things my personal list of at the time 11 of these phone numbers that I have been able to identify.  Now, less than 24 hours later, my list is already up to 13 from last nights 11.

I don't know how to type this out briefly and I don't want to type out a novel to explain this.  This is a SEVERE matter that is way over my head already and clearly, as per the postings I read almost daily on the internet, quite out of control.  At this point I don't even know if trusting my credit card company is even possible anymore now that I read that credit card companies are selling contact information lists that result in hard working consumers to be harassed at all hours of the day and night on their landline and cell phones (which we have to pay to receive) with unsolicited, unwarranted, bogus financing, mortgage revamps, home construction and various other subjects of solicitation and all even if on the DO NOT CALL LIST for many years as is the case with me.

If you were to simply Google any of these 13 phone numbers that I have "attempted" to block from calling my landline number here at home (see the list  of those 13 numbers below), you'll see ENDLESS complaints posted from other persons such as myself that just can't put up with all of this harassment and disturbance any longer.

Why aren't the agencies assigned to these matters stopping this????  Why aren't these people being fined as stated??? Why doesn't the DO NOT CALL LIST  stop these intruders????  Why must we also be leery of our credit card companies and banking institutions now?????????  Who can we trust now????  Where will we (I) find peace of mind????

We all work hard and we only live once, why can't it be in a peaceful manor without these added burdens to add to life's complexities????  On top of it, the desperate, naive and elderly are falling victim to these scammers.

Am I making any sense to you in what I seek your investigative expertise in?  If the public even hears that CBS INVESTIGATIONS is looking into this, they'll be glued to their T.V.'s just to hear about it and even to see who these persons are, where they call from and why they do it not to mention HOW and WHO was paid to provide our contact information.

Example complaints on the internet by simply doing a phone number search on Google, example  1-305-587-2091 that's all you have to type into the search bar to get these.

http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-305-587-209

Now below is my personal up to date (2/22/12) list of 13 now blocked calls from my home landline.  I can only block 7 more (20 max) with my AT&T Uverse service and I have no idea yet how to block these calls on my AT&T cell phone service yet.

I filed a complaint with the FCC directly and I was issued a case number.  Below is my current list of numbers that I blocked utilizing my 20 block limit on my AT&T Uverse service.  It's simple to block these numbers on line with this service but I'm already up to 11 blocked numbers.  I don't know what I'll do once I have met my max in blocking ability.  You'll see complaints on all 11 of these numbers on the internet.  I have only posted this insight here regarding the phone number 701-920-9550.  I'd have to repost this insight 10 more times if I wanted to make reference to this insight pertaining to all 11 blocked scammer numbers that I have already discovered and blocked.  Here's a copy and paste of my actual on-line list of blocked numbers (see below).  You'll want not only to block all of these but you too should help see to it that this insight be furnished to persons receiving calls from any of these numbers.  I just can't repeat this posting 10 more times.  FILE WITH THE FCC, THE MORE COMPLAINTS THE BETTER.  This subject matter should also be looked into by your local CBS, NBC, ABC investigative / fraud reporters.  It would make for a VERY interesting special report for all viewers to gain from.  This s... has to stop!!!   Good luck and please help put an end to these disruptive intruders / scammers.  CALL THE FCC AT 717-338-2533.  Here's my blocked number list to date (2-22-12).

I don't know how many times I gotta say this, but here goes again. If you don't want to answer ANY call, save it as a contact and designate no ringer. The "bell" won't ring and the call will be sent to your voice mail. Nealy all telemarkerts WILL NOT LEAVE A MESSAGE, because they know you won't respond. End of problem. I have 15 numbers set up like this and have only received one message. It was from Humana, and I responded since I have Human insurance. However, it took them three months to figure out that I wasn't going to answer the number UNLESS they left a message. Finally, someone at Humana figured it out and did, in fact, leave a message. Again, end of problem. I used to report these numbers to the National Do Not Call Registry, but trust me, this works MUCH better. I'd say "good luck," but there's no luck involved. IT'S CALLED TECHNOLOGY, SO USE IT.

Hi all,
I'm beginning to recognize that many of us that have posted elsewhere on this site have been called by this group via multiple numbers.
I have just received another call from this group. Other numbers have been 971-217-9515, 503-563-0081, and 920-602-0879. The calls have been from Oregon, North Dakota and Nevada. They have been calling for a year and I just can't take it anymore. I have no loans or credit cards. This is a totally false premise. They aren't affiliated with anything legitimate.
Every time I get a call, I log the call into a spread sheet I'm keeping and then I block the number. Next, I file a complaint at the following address:
https://complaints.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx
This is really fast. I keep a short comment in my word-processor for this specific group that lets me just copy and paste it into the comment section so it doesn't take me so long. I modify it for that specific call.
So far the result has been that they change the number that I blocked and keep calling.
I have followed all of the prompts suggested on the recording to no avail.
The more of us that complain to DNC the more likely the DNC will take action. You must report each separate number. I also report them each time they call from the same number. When the complaint line reaches their magic number, it will cause them to take action but it will take a lot of us to trigger this. They don't chase down every number submitted.
I will also call the New Mexico AG's office to see what action they will take.
Good luck everyone!

The more I read about this number, the more it sounds like it is spoofed from Russia or whereever.
The Truth In ID Calling Act of April, 2011 supposedly made it illegal to pull off this crap.Apparently, the Atty. General of North Dakota has made it well known this number does not originate from North Dakota.

Please put this guy behind bars.  It is wrong to steal a persons identity. He impersonated a bank officer which should be against the law in his attempt to gain personal information for his own use.

This was a prerecorded message wanting me to remain on the line (I've received calls from this company before) to speak to an "account representative" to reduce my credit card interest payments. I DO NOT have any credit cards. When I have stayed on the line, I've told the "account representative" that I don't have any credit cards, nor do I want further contact from your company. At that point, the "account representative" hangs up, yet I still continue to receive phone calls from this company.

Yes, just got a call from Credit Services at 701-920-9550 ... I don't ever pick up on these calls, let it go to the machine and, of course, they hang up. Reporting any of these numbers to the Do Not Call list is a total waste of time because they just keep coming and the FCC obviously can do nothing about the scammers who do this ... or the FTC or whomever is suppose to deal with these types of things! My suggestion is this: If you don't recognize the number or the name on your caller I.D. ... then do NOT pick up!

I'm sure it's a scam.  (701) is a North Dakota area code.  I sure don't know anyone there.  They call and don't leave a message.

I am registered on the Federal "Do Not Call" list, but continue to receive calls from this company, a no-name company I might add.  I wish to register a complaint against them as they continue to call my residence as well as my cell phone (both of which are registered "Do Not Call"s).

This may be a foreign spoof fraud number to get your private information. Do not answer ANY calls from 701. See the Attorney General's bulletin about this scam http://www.ag.nd.gov/NewsReleases/2010/05-25-10A.pdf

Got call from this number 1/23/2012. Complete garbage offering to lower your credit card rate while collecting your personal information to sell to other companies.

Asking to be removed from their list does you no good. My advice if you pick it up is to keep pressing the # key until the call disconnects. Do that or this number will keep calling twice a day until you do. If you are on the do not call list don't call them just turn them in.
