I've only gotten one call but I dont know any body in 701  area code so I just looked it up!

I got a phone call from a 701 area code, so I didn't answer. They left me a message about lowering my interest rate and cutting my payments in half. I researched the number, which is 7012171053, and as it turns out, it is linked to a company named Procedures in Spencer ND. I'm going to call the number and try the opt out thing. Thanks

wondering if any people called recently were in Las Vegas. If so, I think I know where the scammers are getting info from.

Same scammers call from 701-920-9995. This is not a telemarketing company this is an identity theft company.  They start out with a robo call.  Mine stated it's name was Heather.  When you talk to a person (I got Mike, who sounded suspiciously Indian) I was informed my Visa credit card had a $3000 balance.  I don't have any credit cards.  When I asked him to verify who the company Procedures thought I was he hung up.  There is no company called Procedures listed in North Dakota.  They are preying on people trying to get personal info name, SSN, credit card #, etc.  The fastest way to get rid on them is to ask a few simple ?'s.  They always hang up and never call back because they know your on to them.  Also always file out a complaint at https://www.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx.  The more complaints they get the faster they shut down the scammers phone #'s.

I bad the problem too, call the number back. When you get the recorded voice hit the number 2 on your keypad, you will be added to the no call list, allow 5 days for it to completely take affect

I did try to get them "Opt me out" about 2 weeks ago (not by calling back, but by speaking to the rep.  Still get many calls a week on my cell, which I NEVER use for business. Today I spoke with a rep again, and they basically will not give you any information about themselves including a FIRM company name (just kept saying we are a debt management company), just wanted info about me.
I again told him to "Opt me out" and again was told it would be done in up to 5 days.  Looked up this info page and called the 701 number back and used option 2 for the opt out (up to 5 days).  Will see if it happens this time.
I do get other solicitation calls from time to time but each has had an automated "Opt out" option which can be accessed from the key pad.  If it is not a requirement that companies like this; (that seem to just dial numbers at radom and then keep dialing it once the system figures out it is a working number) have an automated "Opt out" option presented during the first few seconds of the call, it should be!!!!!
Does anyone know if such a requirement exists or is in the works???

We got a call tonight on my husbands cell phone. We logged onto Goggle, and found these posts (I love the Internet.) we followed the advice, called the number back, pressed option 2 and sure enough we are removed from the call list. Thanks everyone!

I spoke to an individual who said they were from a company called the debt company............ and that they obtained by wifes cellphone number from my credit card company with I know is a lie because only two people have this number.......... the call originate from a call center located in North Dakota......... It's a scam.......... ignore them........... And don't give them any personal information...... in fact the guy on the phone didn't or wouldn't tell me who he was calling...........

Scam.......... Scam.......... Scam............ in fact it wouldn't surprise me if the call don't come from a prison in North Dakota..............

I have continued to get phone calls from this number several times a day. No message is left, whom ever it is consistantly calls at all hours several times a day. I would love to make it stop....I will never answer it nor am I interested in anything from this number.

I've gotten two calls from this number in the past two weeks. I'm in area code 703, have mistaken the number for a local call and answered. I get a recorded message of a woman's voice saying she's with Cardinal Bank (or something similar -- Cardinal is in the name) and this is an urgent call regarding my credit card account. She continues that there's nothing wrong at this time but I should call back immediately to lower my interest rate (or some such). I have no account with them and haven't followed up.

Alex is right just follow the instructions and have your number added to their do not call list.

Same 701 number calling me too.  It's a cell phone number unable to track who's it is unless you can find the phone provider & tell them that it's a phoney cold call junk company & have them turn this person in.

this is wild, I was reading this page because this number called me at 11:15. Bam at 1:15 they called and I followed the menu to discontinue. Now the menu choice is 3.

Received several calls from 701-920-9994....I have also been getting calls from a ( 313 ) area code.and ( 201)...and an 888 #... I no longer answer numbers I don't recognize....I'm considering changing my cell #...the( 313) # I had blocked for 90 days, that's as long as the wireless co. would do it for!!!

I'm having the same problem as everyone else Ive been reading. I called Verizon and they blocked the call but said this would only last for 4 months and I would have to call back to have it blocked again.

I get about 3 calls a day from this number......I am getting completely frustrated and annoyed.  THey call, but do not leave a message. I don't want to call back because I don't want to be charged. I just want to MAKE IT STOP!!

I receive as many as 5 calls from this number on some days.  The automated call always leaves a message regarding lowering my interest rate.  Lowering it on what?  I do not know.  I did return the call and put myself on their do not  call list.  I will know in ab 5 business days if it works.

same as above poster. just press 2 as soon as the lady starts talking. puts you on DNC list, but does state it may take up to 5 days.

i would recommend going here (https://complaints.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx) if the calls do not stop after 5 days. i definately will be.

Go to the link below and submit a claim. Thare are stiff fines for calling phone numbers on the national do not call list. lets make these people pay!

Just received a call  - 4/1/10. Automated caller ("Rachel") stating that although there are no current problems with my credit card, it is "urgent" that I contact the company (not named) so that I can negotiate down my interest rate to "as low as 6.9%."  

Need I say this is a scam?
