I get calls from these people twice a day every day.  Using a lot of info I got online here are the facts.

This is a call center being paid by Surftone aka Spectrotel.  They scam people and use horrible tactics to trick people into signing up with them.

So... here is the CEO's personal cell phone: 1-732-859-1573 his name is Jack Dayan.
have fun

he can also be reached at his office at 732-345-7000 go to company directory then spell his name in keypad.

give em hell.

WoW...during this "telephone game" chat you've successfully turned the attention away from SURFTONE (who is doing all the bad things from the #702-266-8172) and tossed Spectrotel into this???  It's funny.....talking about telemarketers...."telephone game"....you remember that game.  By the time it gets to the end of the line the information is all F*(&^ED UP

Why would Verizon say "yeah they are great ...switch to them"??  Do yourself a favor as I did...research for yourself and don't listen to every john, dick and sally that has a keyboard.  This is a chat room......you can bet 80% of the information is CRAP and hearsay not...........THE TRUTH

By posting a message like this you are really hurting people that NEED to save money.  These companies ARE REAL and have better prices than the "Big Wig" companies that charge more just because you've heard their name or your parents had that service when you were young.  These companies buy phone lines WHOLESALE (ATT Verizon etc.) and offer the same service at a cheeper rate per month........that's it.  This way it keeps the bigger companies in check.  If it wasn't for deregulation....the major phone companies could charge WHAT EVER THEY WANT.

Ask the person calling what their website is and check it out for YOURSELVES!  You'll see that these smaller companies have been in business for 15-20+ years and have better customer service.

I save $53.47 a month for my business phone because I SWITCHED and I RESEARCHED....MYSELF.
Now I have the same lines as everyone else .... I'm just not paying for the NAMEBRAND.  After all it's a phone not cereal!  You can't taste the difference....but you can sure see the savings!..........THE TRUTH

Got a call from them and they asked who does our Verizon Bill. I said we didn't like Verizon and do not use you. She said she is not with Verizon, she is with Surftel, an alternate long distance provider. I told her we didn't like alternate LD providers. She said "You're an idiot" and hung up.

Received a call from these slicksters this afternoon. Told me Verizon is a monopoly, etc. They read off all of my phone lines to me like I would be impressed with their black magic. Like "Ohh there's no way you'd be scam artists if you knew my other lines, you must be the real deal". I asked them why my phone provider would call me to save money, and they gave me a long-winded, a**-backwards explanation that lasted 5 minutes. I could almost picture him sitting there with his eyes rolled in the back of his head as he told me. I hung up and he called me 2 more times then gave up.

Called everyday this week. Normally no one was on the line. This time there was a person who asked to speak with whoever handles our Verizon account. I told them no and please do not call here again before hanging up.

These guys called me. Their pitch sounded like a good deal on the surface, but I was suspicious from the beginning. I gave them the benefit of the doubt at first, entertaining the idea that I may sign up. I asked for the details in writing. I got a two page document via a fax-to-email service. It reads like a product brochure.
I replied to the email. This was my response:

Please do not call back. Reading the document you sent, it was quickly apparent that the details I wanted in writing are not covered. This prompted me to search the internet for more information about SurfTel. I found a few sites where customers posted information about their experience with SurfTel and Spectratel. Based on what I've read it seems that much of what your company's sales reps lead people to believe is not true - most importantly that one's bill will be lowered.
I have no intention of perusing this further.

They are trying to force you to switch your phone & long distance service to them.  They are a SCAM.  They will promise lower rates and pretend to be the phone company themselves, but it's a scam.  Call your phone company and report it.
