I just found out that Worldwise tricked an elderly man that resides in one of my assisted living homes (who is incapable of travel and has no family/friends to gift the package to).  This gentleman is on a fixed income and would never plan to travel or have anyone to purchase travel vouchers for.  When I saw the number on the electronic numerous checks they claim he authorized by phone, I called the number and spoke with a very defensive and nervous sounding woman who told me I called them after business hours. She actually had an attitude that I called a toll-free number, she answered and I expected them to be open for business since she answered.  If you are closed, DON'T ANSWER THE PHONE!! She was very rude and the vibe I got was not good.  I told her that the bank has been notified that there have been unauthorized charges on the account and that he will be going to the bank in person to complete paperwork to initiate a fraud investigation and she said, "You better not!! He agreed to these charges and has received the packages by now.  He needs to call us first before he goes to the bank and settle this with us because if he tries to say it is fraud, we will sue him."  I was very disgusted with this woman.  That's when I decided to go and research the company online and ran across numerous complaints of fraud, scams against people, namely the elderly.  They, so far, have gotten upwards of $3000 from this elderly resident and he wouldn't have been aware at all because he is not alert enough to manage his own banking and affairs properly.  I discovered it when I looked at an email notification I received from his bank that stated his daily balance was in the negative.  Imagine how many others are being taken advantage of who don't have someone to advocate for them.  I'm going to help my resident advocate for himself and encourage him to prosecute to the fullest extent of the law if they are found to have done something dishonest in an attempt to exploit a vulnerable adult.  I take these things very seriously.

I just got a call from 702-749-6670 identifying themselves as World Wise Vacations.  Mark Gilbert told me that I had just won 4 trips to Venice, Italy...Waikiki...Carnival Cruise and Las Vegas and that all
they needed from me was my checking account routing number.  That it was a one time svc charge of
$1496.00. My reply was "I'm not giving you my routing number, I don't even know you!!! " He said he was insulted and how could I turn this down?  I said "It's too good to be true...and I'm not giving you $1496.00".  He then put  Chuck on the phone who said how about $975. I said "no" then he said
$529. and I could put it on my credit card. "how about that" he said.  I was going to hang up but wanted
to see how far he'd go.  He said "How can I convence you to take advantage of this wonderful offer?"
And I replied with "For "0" money and you pay the airfare"  He was literally speechless and then got
very serious with me and said "look, this is the opportunity of a lifetime...if you don't take this I will
give it to someone else who lives by you"  I said, honestly......if I thought this was legit, I'd love it...
but I don't trust you....you shouldn't need money right away until I can have this confirmed"  He
then said "God Bless You and I'll give this to someone else" and hung up abruptly.

You know  there are legitimate giveaways are out there for trips etc. but I don't think they demand
money right away.

Owner is Mario Gonzalez and it is clearly stated on their website:

http://www.worldwisevacations.com/aboutus.htm

Maybe you should be taking up the issues directly with him.  And YES, it's a scam and more than likely these employees make 100% commission and only see penny's of the money they swindle from people.  They probably just got a list of people 75 and older to cold call on.  The BBB really needs to do a more thorough investigation, especially since the address should be updated when a business moves. In addition, people need to file the complaints to impact their rating.

Best way to get travel deals is to go online ask any travel agent, if they are even still in business.  A travel agent is best in assisting with paperwork needed to travel internationally and a tour operator is best in assisting with group travel arrangements or pre-set destinations.  If their website looks unprofessional and you cannot search for the destinations, please meet the person face-to-face in their office.

I feel bad this happen to you all.

Mother in law got a call from a Paul McCallister from World Wise Vacations located in Las Vegas. He was telling her that she won 3rd place in a drawing and that she won 4 vacations. He said all that she had to do was pay $700 and she was good to go. She had to go and hung up and called them later. When she tried to call him back the number had been disconnected. She told me about it so I looked the company up online and had her call them back. The woman that answered was really defensive and rude as soon as my mother in law started talking to her about the situation. She claimed that my mother in law was just confused. She also said that Paul McCallister is an employee at the company and that all of the conversations on the phone are recorded and that if they find that he had said my mother in law had won a trip that he would be fired. When she said he would be fired she referred to him as "Carlos McCallister". Its a scam due to her slip up in calling Paul Carlos and the initial number being disconnected. We are reporting them tho the BBB.

Also, I remembered them mentioning to my Grandmother how they were accredited on the BBB so I looked them up. There IS a World Wise Vacations & Tours, but the address doesn't match that of the 'website' given. ((Which is a HORRIBLY designed website, by the way. Definitely doesn't look professional.))

The website gives the address:
4480 West Hacienda Avenue - Suite 201
Las Vegas, NV 89118

While the Better Business Bereau gives the address:
7145 Bermuda Rd.
Las Vegas, NV 89119

My Grandmother just got called by Worldwise Travel today and gave them her credit card information before I realized what was going on. They charged the $695 to her card and when we called the card company they said the only thing we can do is dispute the charges in a couple of days.

I talked with some guy over the phone and never in my life have I had a talk-over-each-other-very-loudly argument with a reputable company before. He said that I was FORCING my Grandmother to change her mind about this and to put her back on the phone. I have never in my life had someone talk to me in such a nasty way. I was honestly about to start cursing at him I was so angry.

When I said that as soon as we hung up we were calling her credit card and her bank he said, "She said she already contacted them..." paused for a second, then said 'thank you' and hung up. Hung up to go make sure she'd already been charged. I am so beyond angry.

You people make me laugh first off if you dont want people calling your very old parents then tell them to stop filling out survey forms and putting there phone# and name on them. If you want all this to stop go find the people that are mailing these forms to your parents and yell at them. When you put your name and phone# on a piece of paper then put you enjoy traveling whether it's true or not were gonna call assuming you travel and would like a great deal. Also if you noticed people, Worldwise is not the same company as World wide. Two different businesses, and also I have a desk full of postcards that some of your parents have sent me, thanking me for a great time and for all the money they saved. So I sleep well, you might want take responsibility for your actions and dont fill out any forms people. you guys give out your name and Phone# then duh yes someone will call you lol.

These people scammed my 90-year-old father out of $989.  I'm trying to recover it, but so far no luck.  The little they did speak with me revealed that my father had somehow called them!  No way.

I got the same call about winning vacations from 703-933-8822. They then proceeded to try to get a "registration fee" of $698.00.  When I told them it sounded like a scam, they hung up.  Have received several calls in the last 3-4 weeks.

I have been receiving calls from this number, 702-313-3919, and just now I called the number back. I surprisingly got a live person who explained they were a travel agency doing promotional calls. If I wish to be removed, they can block the my number from being called again. This is the fist time I was asked if I wanted to be blocked. Nice change! So just ask to have your number block. They were very amicable.

These people call my elderly mother several times a day.  Two weeks ago I answered the phone.  They asked for my mom and I said, "yes, this is she."  Then the lady told me that I had won something because I filled out a form somewhere and said I like to visit new and interesting places.  I said, "I'm 85!  If I wake up in the morning I think that's pretty interesting."  I told her that I wasn't interested in traveling and hung up.  My mother usually doesn't answer if she sees World Wise on the caller ID.  She made the mistake of picking it up a couple days ago and the person, this time a guy named Brian told her she'd won five destinations for $211 each.  She told him that it didn't sound legitimate and he got kind of nasty with her.  This morning, after she had received 2 World Wise calls that she didn't answer, I picked up the third one.  It was a man who called himself JP Houchens or something like that.  He asked to speak to my mom and I said he couldn't.  He proceeded to ARGUE with me about the fact that it is her phone!  Pretty unbelieveable.  I asked him if he was from World Wise vacations.  He said "no."  I said, "Well, the caller ID says World Wise vacations."  I told him my mother wasn't interested in a vacation and that she has already told them that so they need to stop calling.  He said, "EVERYBODY is interested in a vacation!"  He just continued to argue with me, like that's going to get us to send him money, so I hung up on him.  I am truly appalled that these people spend so much time trying to scam elderly people out of the little money they have instead of just using the time to go do an honest day's work and make their own money.

I keep getting calls from 702-313-3919 and keep telling them they have the wrong number to remove me from what ever list they have.  They are asking for someone who had the number I have in the past.  They just keep on calling.  How do I get them to stop?
