Raymond Brown from Federal Express just called me to ask if I was expecting a package and I said I don't know "Am I'. He then asked if Publishers Clearing House sent me a letter saying I was a 2nd place winner in PCH and won 1.5 million dollars, a 62" TV, and a dishwasher. I just laughed the whole time talking to him.I said what's the catch and how much money do you want? No catch, it's real. Eventually he said I needed to get a certified cashiers check in the amount of $900. I got his phone number of 202-239-2979, also one of 876-877-5274. Said he was calling from Washington, D.C. Told me I could call 876-887-5217 and this would hook me up with some lady with the Better Business Bureau, Homeland Security and the Fed Gov. The prefixes of 876 are never to be used as they go to other countries and charge big bucks for the call. I guess I will keep working and earn my money the hard way, because I do not have STUPID written on my forehead.

The same thing happened here. Only this time he promised a 2014 Mercedes and cash for 200.00. Donald Peterson, from mega millions publisher clearance house. I know the real PCH will send you a certified letter first with any amount of money.

Very same thing happened to us, did anyone pay the "company". Honestly he didn't even know who I was until I reminded him, then he became very persistent and upset when I questioned the validity of the whole thing. His name was Howard, I am guessing he changed it. I am calling publishers clearing house as well as the FBI. ( good call Frank)

I recieved a  blocked call yesterday June 18, 2012 from a Michael from Publishing Clearing House Sweepstakes that my name was pulled from the Wal Mart Mega Millions Sweepstakes and that I placed 3rd place in the drawings.  Then he went on to say I won 2.5 million dollars and a red Mercedez and there were people from the Clearing House and FBI agents on there way to my house to present me my winnings.  He also said uncle sam would have to get his cut of 1 % first before I recieve the prize.  He said I must go to Western Union at Kmart to send the amount of $275 to a Revano Brown from New Port, Ja. West-Indes.  After reading some of the stories I saw posted on google about people being scammed by private callers about Mega Millions Sweepstakes, I am convince that this guy is trying to scam me too.  He's going to call me again today, but I'll be ready for him.  Thanx everyone for the heads up and sharing your stories, they really helped and now I won't be scammed again by another telemarketer....

Prize Offers: You Don?t Have to Pay to Play!
http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/telemarketing/tel17.shtm

excerpt from FTC CONSUMER ALERT
A Dozen Ways to Protect Yourself
The next time you get a "personal" letter or telephone call telling you "it?s your lucky day," the Federal Trade Commission encourages you to remember that:

Legitimate sweepstakes don?t require you to pay or buy something to enter or improve your chances of winning, or to pay "taxes" or "shipping and handling charges" to get your prize.

If you have to pay to receive your "prize," it?s not a prize at all.

I haven't number ID but just got a call of my winnings by an inarticulate fellow who got testy if I asked him questions. The routine was the same as the comment here.
The phone hung up first call and he called back and was angry that I hung up, which I didn't , I thought he did. He said he got my information from Walmart or CVS etc and I won $150,000, yet he didn't know to whom he was speaking.
Very unprofessional if legit, and it's certainly not. What happened to my status on do not call list?

Received a call from someone claiming to be Mr. Alex Alberto, Manager of Megamillions, at Sweepstakes Clearinghouse.  He gave a phone number of 1-800-787-3498.  He said my husband won $2.5 milllion and a Mercedes Benz.  He asked us to send $359 which would be refunded.  We do not believe it since he asked for money upfront.

My elderly employer received a call from Mega Millions (she "wins" jackpots regularly in the mail and has to send approx $12 for fees on a regular basis for "processing fees"...SCAM!)...When I realized what she was doing I counted it up and in a few months time she had been nickeled and dimed out of hundreds of dollars...oh...and has not received a cent of her supposed winnings...

Call me crazy, but Sonia and Johnnie are probably part of the Mega Millions scam and have posted on this site to "prove" that there are winners out there...

I got a call from the manger of the Mega Millions is name is Mr. Alex Alberto, he was telling me about my price winnings and it sounds very interesting. At first i wanted to hang up but he was very nice to me on the phone and then he told me about my One Million Five Hundred Thousand certify cashiers cheque, he told me that i have to pay $1500 dollars in order to receive my winnings. I was very upset and i was even saying to myself this is too good to be true anyway i when ahead and make the payment and in the next 2 hrs my winnings was delivered to me by the Fed Ex delivery team, Oh that was a day and i told them that i don't want to be published on the television and as a result they didn't put me on it. GOD BLESS YOU  Mr. Alberto your a very good man because you also help me to pay off my taxes towards my winnings at the time when i couldn't pay it off so all that you people are saying about Mr. Alberto i don't know if what your saying is true but on my behalf that's a lie.

Wanted to get both numbers in.  Call is associated with 800 787 3498

Okay, guys don't know if they're from Walmart, MegaMillions or Publishers Clearing House.  Talked with Mr. "Robert O. Jones" and Alex Alberto or Peter Brown.  Will pay off all of my debt if I send $350 via Western Union to

Man, these guys can't even speak English very well (accent sounds West African, go figure).  "We will illustrate (sic) $100,000 cash to your home and give you $1.5 million."  Which is it?  Pay off my debts or give me the money?  "Remember Mr. Frank, the FBI code of conduct says you must keep this confidential.  We have an FBI agent listening in."
