it is Explore Talent out of vegas. They have been around a long time. If you are getting text messages you should try to log into your account and check notification settings. I never turned them on for texting so I don't have that problem.
If you deleted your account before turning off texting notifications that could be the issue - a technical glitch that will require contacting them and, well, good luck getting that cleared up in a simple fashion.

I just received a text from the number as well. I am a professional actor in New Orleans and have unfortunately had my information fall into the hands of ExploreTalent. This company is one of many which preys upon aspiring actors and actresses using legitimate information, while charging a fee for what A: will not work and B: should be paid in a manner only AFTER BOOKING A JOB.
Gaining representation as a performer is not an easy thing. Quite often an agent may require talent to have an existing demo reel or portfolio to work from, which itself can be difficult without a professional agent working to get a person work in the first place. However no real talent representation service of any kind requires a fee for "membership." Casting directors will release character breakdowns for films and television through certain channels. The information is not impossible to come by, but generally only legitimate agencies have the full breakdowns for characters in a given production. When legitimate agents submit clients for auditions and bookings, they are only paid after the job is booked and are paid by the actors. Agency standard rates are generally between 10%-15% depending on an actors union status.
"Explore Talent" simply advertises using information one can find on IMDB pro, claiming that they'll submit actors to production companies, when in fact they have no verifiable relationship with casting directors or production at all. It is essentially a scam. A legal and non-criminal scam, but a scam nevertheless. NEVER pay for representation. If you are asked to do so, the individual or company are not legitimate talent agents.

It is a valid talent casting, crew, model, musician, dancer "help wanted" site.
Can you find everything they post for jobs and opportunities on other sites elsewhere on the internet? Yes.
Their site mines the Internet looking for postings, then forwards ones that fit any criteria you have given them.
It is a "convenience service" that you can use as a "central clearing house" for opportunities. However, they will also host your resume', head-shots, videos, help you build and maintain a personal webpage, provide video training, among other things which can be useful for someone without an agent, for a monthly fee. Think of it as kind of the percentage your agent would get, were you listed with them. You get to do the legwork though.
For the casual performer, it isn't worth the money you pay monthly. Unless you are seriously interested in your profession and willing to go to lots of jobs, auditions, it is interesting to see all the opportunities. Some free, some paid, many extras calls, lots of community theater, and the jobs for crew are good leads. I used it as a casting agent for a short film, and received quite a few leads from which I could choose who I wanted to invite to auditions.
They do NOT charge you per posting, as some "talent" sites do, and they will give you a month free for every $29.95 you have paid elsewhere.
Just remember, You can find virtually every listing on their site elsewhere on the internet, so part of what you are paying for is convenience of "one-stop-shopping"
Here is their "non-internet" info if you want to get off their lists. (If you posted your info anywhere on the internet, or a friend did it, you may still get the messages for a while.)

I can tell you what it is!!!! Explore talent is a web page that can give you upcoming shows such as modeling and acting jobs in cities near your location. You have to pay to get the locations of these places. If you go to the site it asks you to signup for a fee. I got on their site years ago to see what it was about. I never joined but I did manage to give my phone number and have been getting texts ever since and emails too. My daughter had a friend send a text from them and she too now gets these texts sent to her phone and she has never been on the site. If they bother you just block them. I don't know if this is phony or not. I have read that some people have gone to different jobs that were offered but they are not people I know. I guess you could check the better business bureau and see if it is legit. I would not recommend giving out a credit card number unless you know what's up. Hope that helps. Also I want to thank Maro, Jamar and IDFK for the laugh.

It was obvious to everyone but you that Jamar was speaking in the dialect of our phonetically challanged friend, in a manner that both communicated with the wretched fool, and laughed at his butchering of the English language at the same time.

Oh and @ Jamar Malone... thanks for the wonderful laugh. "You needs to be" lol. I enjoy when people 'attempt' to criticize or correct others but instead make themselves look.... hilarious.
