Got a call from this number on my cell and home line. When I tried to call it back, I got no answer and it said the user has not set up their voicemail box.
Jason 2011-06-06 20:54:22 Unknown
Answered the call this time and it is Sallie Mae. They have acquired a cell phone number from which they are making their calls.

Got a call from this number. The caller did not leave any message.

Register your phone number on the National Do Not Call list. After 30 days if they continue to call you have a lawful right to report them for harassment. Also make sure call Sallie Mae's 1-888 number to pay your bill. These people seem really sketchy to me. They called me when I didn't owe Sallie Mae any more money. Be careful with that.
J 2011-03-16 02:22:01 Unknown
If you're getting calls from these people saying they're Sallie Mae. Ignore them. These people called me after my student loan was already paid. I called Sallie Mae's actual 1-888 number and they had no record of anyone calling me from their offices. This is also a cell phone number and it is not listed with the Better Business Bureau. I placed my number on the National Do Not Call List along with a text to the actual number telling them not to call again or I will report them. Whatever you do, do NOT let these people bully you. They're full of s*** and have major attitudes. Don't humor them.

I am receiving multiple calls from this number daily and they never leave a message.
Justin 2011-02-10 22:43:34 Unknown
I started getting calls from this number last Saturday (2-5-2011) and since then they have been calling me numerous times a day, getting a little tired of it, and as I have read above, they do in fact hang up when you pick up, just now the number called and I picked up but didn't say anything, then I heard a woman say hello and I said Hello, as soon as I said that I got the disconnected tone. Talk about harassment I may just have to change my phone number, but why give them the satisfaction.
Mike 2011-02-09 21:17:05 Unknown
Someone or some computer keeps calling my number. Never leaving a message but calling constantly

BEWARE!! Called Sallie Mae home office and they do not recognize nor associate with this number 702-469-0490. They have nothing on file regarding me ever taking or applying for a loan. Sallie Mae home office was very helpful and advised me to get on the "do not call list" at www.donotcall.gov.

They call me 5-7 times a day 7 days a week.
Jennifer 2010-06-23 14:31:37 Unknown
Too many to keep track of! They are the most annoying people ever. They harrass us and call us at work after we've asked them not to multiple times. Don't they know that if we could pay the ridiculous amount of money they ask for every month, we would? They are the bane of our existence.
Jason 2010-03-30 20:18:28 Unknown
I've received 16 calls from this number over the past couple days and they only left one voicemail, the caller identified himself as 'Dave' with no company name or callback number.

They have about seven numbers and they all are too much. I just made the payment they asked me for and they have called me 3 times this morning starting at 8:45. Some reps are nice some are rude. Hate them all!!!! we need to call our political representatives and ask them to stop them from bullying us. we know we owe them but we can only pay so much and still live. one of there reps told me to move into income sensitive housing, apply for food stamps, and if that didnt work try welfare. .... I make to much money for any of that just not enough to pay the $500-$700 they would like every month of my life for the next 25 yrs. Good for them those reps probably make $20 and hrs. guess instead getting into college i should have gone into collections :-/ !

This number is belongs to an out sourced company hired by Sallie Mae to collect Student Loan Debt. You will get no relief by engaging them in conversation about your school loans. They have no other function then to collect the debt you owe. They do not care who you are or what your situation is!
Whether your loan is in forebearance or has been defered makes no differance! What you have to do is to pay what you can every month without fail. While it doesn't begin to cover what you contracted to pay, it implies a "Good Faith" payment. This being done, you cannot be moved on to default you're account.
The phone calls will continue, do to the absence of enforceable law. These companies are "boiler room" operations and change their numbers as many times as most people change their underware! This company makes it's profit from your misery!
Do not engage them on the phone. Do not send them any kind of payment. Send what you can each month on time to your established account address. And whatever you do, tell all that will listen that Sallie Mae is the wrong way to pay for school!!!

Sallie MAE SUCKS. they started calling me from numerous numbers because i don't answer. i put them on my reject list. they called me 10 times in one day starting at 6 am EST meaning 5 am for me. i looked into it and it is ILLEGAL for them to call more than 3 times a day. i finally got fed up and answered and said 'you are harrassing me. you can only legally call me 3 times a day! yesterday you called me 10 times! this is harrassment.' the lady then said 'i'm sorry. good bye' and HUNG UP. haha. i called her on their crap and she knew it and hung up. i'm sure they erased the recorded phone call too. now this 702 number is calling me and when i DO answer they just hang up. i'm sorry i'm unemployed and can't afford to pay interest of $200 a month even though my loan is in deferment. up until november i was paying every month on time and now they harrass me. trust me i don't like the phone calls. i can't stand them. i WISH i could pay them but i can't. i know they are doing their job but really? 10 times a day starting at 5 am. give me a break. the other night they called me at 9 pm. unless that phone call was from hawaii they shouldn't be calling me that late. it's ridiculous.

They call me all day too. The part that bothers me the most is my parents have started paying on the loan and they are still calling trying to get more money. I just don't know what else they want. Then when I tried to get the loans put in forebarance they told me they don't do forberances anymore. I previously spoke with another rep maybe 3 weeks prior and was told I had to pay some fee(might I add that don't go towards student loan) to put loans in forberance if approved. When I got the money I tried doing what I was told I could do and all of a sudden they claim there policies changed and there forebarance process only will bring the loan current and I would still need to make a payment to next month. Well what's the purpose of the forbarance if I ask for a forebarance for six months what make them think I will be able to pay in one month. This is crazy, don't get me wrong I want to pay my debt but I just don't have it right now that dream job has not come threw.

I think it is Sallie Mae also-I called it back to see but then hung up.

I've had this number forward to my Google Voice number, and they call over 30+ times a day from 8 AM to 9PM CST. They know I can't pay on the student loans that is in forbearance, but they still try to call and collect anyways.
moe 2010-02-04 21:30:03 Unknown
starting last week, i get about 5 calls a day, i answer, there is a click but no one answers. It could be salliemae but not sure. really annoying
jo 2010-02-03 18:55:25 Unknown
I think this is Sallie Mae
Pete 2010-02-02 21:09:39 Unknown
I am using a brand new number, only 3 people have it, Sallie Mae is one of the three. There was a pause, a click, then whoever it was hung up. As long as they help me pay for the rest of medical school they can call every day.
ladybug 2010-01-28 17:04:57 Unknown
It's salliemae
Jenna 2010-01-27 22:16:59 Unknown
i have gotten calls from this number ever since i bought my new phone which was about 3 days ago. They call me at least 12 times a day and the number comes up Las Vegas. When i call back, it goes to voicemail which says that it has not been set up yet. I would suggest to anyone who gets calls like this to have it blocked or report it to the police. It seems a little fishy to me. Dont delay
mrs hillman 2010-01-20 17:53:33 Unknown
Been callin me for 2 days and leave no message .. when I call back it says the persons voicemail isn't set up yet...
Kimberly 2009-11-05 17:23:02 Unknown
Continue to receive calls from this number but no message left. When I answer the phone, there is a pause as if the caller is waiting to be connected. We have no outstanding bills except my husbands studen loan which has payments being made on it. Student Loan companies HOUND their clients even if they are making the payments. They always want to know if we can do more! If any way possible, do not use student loans for college. Try NROTC or some other branch of the military.
