This number called and left a creepy voicemail, and then when we called them back a man named Jimmy was incredibly rude and asked us to take HIM off our call list......HAHAHA what a moron!

The RUDEST lady called and gave me the worst attitude.  I asked who was calling and she stated "I said it's Jasmine, is the homeowner there or not? I don't have time for this." Two things 1) it was well after 9:00 pm EST and 2) when you are calling don't throw attitude!

I saw the exact same thing. My husband asked if he could take a message (I don't take unknown numbers after 8pm). The ghetto sounding guy just hung up. So tired of all the dumb calls. :( I don't even answer the phone anymore, it's always them or someone like them :(

Third call I received all I said was hello silence then sorry wrong number!! And hung up!?!?!

Keep getting calls from this number.  It registers on caller id as "opinion poll".  I answered without saying anything and they hung up.  When I tried to call back, dead silence--no dial tone.  Just waiting for the next call *rubs hands together*

I answered and hung up after she said it was a political poll.  They call my cell and I won't waste minutes on nonsense.  I will answer the next time and tell them to take me off their call list to see it that stops the calls.  They've call the last 2 days, multiple times.

This number keeps calling, but no one is there when you answer.  If you try to call it back you don't even get a ring tone.  Caller ID says "Public Opinion Poll" but they can't be too interested in anyone's opinion if they don't even wait to ask the questions!  Sounds like just another annoying nuisance call or scam to me.  I wish someone would track these people down & slap them with a really heavy fine.  We're on the Do Not Call list, but it doesn't seem to do much good.

Got a call from this number yesterday. He asked for me and I asked who was calling.Guy said he was calling from JRS Research. I then told him that I was the person he was asking for, but that I didn't want to do the survey and wanted to be taken off their call list. He hung up on me about halfway through that last sentence. Tried calling the number back so I could remove myself from their call list but the line rings busy.

I have received these calls as well. 3 yesterday and 4 or 5 today. The last one came at 9:00 pm. We too are on the do not call list. I keep hoping they will tire of my answering machine!!

I'VE GOTTEN 2 IN THE LAST 24 HRS.  TO BAD THERE ISN'T A WAY WE COULD SUE THE SOB'S FOR HARRASSMENT.

I live in Oregon. I have been getting these calls about 3 or 4 times a day.  Hangups, no one there, no message left.  I am going to check with my phone company to see if the number can be blocked, and I am going to report it to the Do Not Call as well.

I also got a call. She asked for a person, I told her wrong number she hung up.  I called back phone does not even ring.

Keep getting called by this same number. I don't answer since my number is hooked up to my fax machine. I see that some people are being called that live in California. I'm in Colorado!!  Wish they would stop. A lot of good the do not call list does.

I've gotten three calls in two days from them. I finally answered the third call and they asked for me by my first name. When I said, "This is she." The woman on the line asked, "Do you speak English?" and when I said, "Yes," (obviously? we've been speaking in English) in a slightly annoyed tone, there were some fumbling noises and she hung up. Weird.

I just recieved this call.  Didn't answer the phone and they didn't leave a message.

This is a national research group doing opinion polls. They are picking out particular folks who they want to talk to based on age, gender, income, and geographic location. They want to talk to the person they are calling. The best way to get off their list is answer the questions, or talk to the person and let them know, politely, that you don't wish to participate in their survey. Remember, these are people, just like yourself, doing a job to support their families. Being polite will mean a lot to them.

This number calls us under "opinion poll" caller name, but nobody responds when I pickup. No message left either by this caller.

Calls again and again to the point of annoyance during the week. On weekdays, calls ring in the evenings after working hours.

We must ask 'Comcast'/AT&T  to block this caller.

I too am on the list but these idiots call constantly.Just got another and when hubby told him to not call again he asked,what do you want me to do,beg on side of the highway in another country?Hubby said yes.We changed our number because of all these calls and still getting them.

Looks like a lot of people have been receiving calls from this number.  I get at least 2 calls a day and just like everyone else, they don't leave messages and they quickly hang up if u tell them that person isn't home.  It is very annoying especially already being on the "Do Not Call" list.  Is there anyway to stop these annoying calls?  HELP ME PLEASE!

I got two calls from this number today for the first time. Totally ignored the 1st call but after checking here I answered the 2nd one.

The woman identified herself as Catherine from MRF or MRS Research (couldn't make out if she said F or S) calling to conduct research in my area. Asked her why she was calling someone on the do not call list and she hung up. Hoping that stops the calls.

I tried calling back and no ring-back or answer.
I will be saving the number and making the ringtone silent.
I also will be reporting it as harassment if repeated.

HOW TO THROTTLE BOGUS CALLS (updated 03/21/2012)

Ok, here's a solution if your phone has a contacts list--it works quite well on my iPhone, which allows unlimited phone numbers for any contact.

Step 1, create a contact named something like these names
            IGNORE JUNK CALL
            SCAMMING SCUMBAGS
            FRAUDSTERS LIST
                         ..... 
            
Step 2, select a SILENT ring type for this contact.  Or, select a distinctly unusual ring tone like
             CRICKETS or                              
             MOTORCYCLE  or
             RIFLE...

This lets you know if a repeat caller is on the line, but I prefer the silence myself.  My iPhone lights up showing the caller ID, even though I have a silent ring.

Step 3. Enable CALLER ID to be displayed for incoming calls that are made to your phone. It's a pity these stealth calls UNKNOWN, or OUT OF AREA, or their ilk, can't be blocked by any phone I know about. My iPhone won't let me put these names where the phone number field is entered.

So, what you do is to put the phone numbers of all bogus and scam callers that contact you, or try to call you, in this special contact. 

Also, unless you recognize a toll free number owner, let all calls of this type go unanswered, and if no 
voicemail is left, add the Caller ID (their  phone  number) into the                    IGNORE JUNK CALL contact.

Also add any other bogus calls
you get or know about, well they go in this contact too.

This may mean also all callers that don't leave a voice mail, or are soliciting you for services or products who you don't have a business relation with. And slime bags you don't want to talk to, like that jerk at the bar, or your ex.

For new toll free and also out of area calls: run these numbers
through Google search to see if they have been reported as junk or have been identified by others as scams.

Don't call an unsolicited  toll-free number back, it captures your own phone number, and you will get on other scam lists to call you.

Toll free numbers all have area codes from this list: codes 800, 888, 877, 866,  and codes reserved for future expansion include 844, 833, 822, 880 through 887, and 889. 

FURTHER: Don't take the default voice mail prompt that came with your phone, because it usually
speaks your phone number and indicates you aren't around to pick up the call and maybe even speaks your name as well.

Record a new one
like "Sorry I missed you, your message will be appreciated".
Friends will know your voice. Scammers, not so often.

My list is long now, my silent ring saves me from tons of spam and scam, and yes, the do not call list is worthless, and toothless as well.

Please feel free to copy this post anywhere, and to any forum. 

Consider writing a letter or email to your phone supplier, or your congressman to fix this awful state of affairs, and to put some teeth into the DO NOT  CALL law. Ask them to shut down the services that allow fake telephone numbers to be used as well.

Got a call from this number and guy said he was with "fm3" in Vegas and wanted me to assist with a survey. Told him I didn't have time to talk. Very suspicious....

I love these calls because I LOVE to tell people to f*** off  F****NG LOVE IT!!!!!
