702-520-1295 is a phone scam.  First call my son hung up on them.  Called again without any caller ID.  Same phone scam I reported last week from another number that was disconnected the day after I started to call their bluff.  They claim to have drawn my name from a draw at Wal Mart, offering an all-inclusive trip to Villas Sol resort in Costa Rica, with an additional stay in Orlando or Cancun for 5 days and 4 nights.  Voucher you win is worth $2600 and you have to pay on the spot for the rest of the expenses ($800 the first day last week, then $400 the next day for the same package....) Today was their third attempt to reel me in!!

I get calls from this number daily. I let it go to voicemail and sometimes there's a message about having won a 'super rate at an all-inclusive resort'. Sometimes it's an offer about upping my credit card rate (I don't have a credit card). Sometimes there's no message left at all. If I call it back I get a busy signal.

I also just received a call from this number. I was actually really surprised to see info on it when i checked it on google.

I've been getting these scams calls since I got a new land line, this 702 number is new to me though, usually the scam calls come from Maryland...

*57 will help to stop the problem??

I just got the same call but this was on my very pvt. office number.  I listen to the message and I KNOW that Macys etc have not a thing to do with this.  I called Macys corporate office to their investigations office and they are going to look into this.   NO major company including WalMart would be sponsering this.
If each of you after you hear the out going message, then call the companies that they CLAIM to be representing, I can assure you that these companies will come down HARD on this foolishness.

Good luck.   Macys is NOT amused.

this is a scam.  you can't do anything about it directly until they have phoned 5 times.  after they call dial *57 and the number will be marked.  after you have marked their calls 5 times, call 611 and report the number.  i am posting from saskatoon, sk.

the calls come in from this number about costa rica vacations and from 757-990-8951 from "cancun travel unlimited" i am building up my hits on both of these which seem to be coming from the same place or same scam company.  there are the same options and same set up with the electronic message - every time i talk to them and ask to be removed from the list, they hang up on me.  today i got one of them on the phone and told her that she was a criminal. she told me that she would remove me from the list but i refused to give her my number.  i want them to keep calling so i can make a formal complaint and hopefully get something done about this.

I read some of these complaints and wanted to share my experence with the call I received. I was told that a family member or friend filled out my name at the vacation kiosk in front of Macy's, Bloomingdales, or some other store. ( I later found out that it was my brother who filled out, and put my name at the vacation kiosk). They told me that my name was selected to receive $2,600 travel dollars towards a Costa Rica vacation. They told me that this was like a store coupon that everyone uses to get a reduction in price on a product. In this case; it was worth 75 percent off of the regular price.I was told that we would get 5 days all-inclusive in Costa Rica, and 6 days in Florida for $798 dollars for a family of 4.After going to their website and seeing the resort, we saw the value and bought the vacation. We are excited to go this June, and hopefully it will be a beautiful vacation for my family. No complaints so far!

I got an extremely similiar call, but mine was listed under caller id as being from 410-774-8660. I'm in Ontario, and almost got suckered into it - I gave them the first few digits of my credit card number before it dawned on me that I shouldn't. Hope things work out for you Mike, and hope I just missed out.

I was more sketched out because when the phone rang, it was originally a message from Equifax (the credit union) saying my credit had been raised and so I had been entered to win a contest. But the contest had none of my details, and didnt even know who they were calling. I spoke to a man named Anthony, who passed me off to a VERY pushy woman, and then back to anthony, both of whom refused to give me any verification, and just kept demanding I pay the downpayment. Sketchville.

Ok guys,  how can anyone seriously be complaining about this great Costa Rica Vacation.  Not only do you get a Cancun 5 day- 4 night vacation,  you also get a Costa Rica All-Inclusive vacation.  To my dismay when I was transferred over to the Verification department I also got an extra Cancun gift card to give away to a friend so they can go to Cancun also.  We just came back from the Cancun portion and couldnt have been more satisfied.  We even bought a timeshare from the sunset Group who are affiliated with RCI.  If any of you guys out there know anything about RCI , then you would know that this vacation promotion is not a scam,.  Our family really enjoyed it and will be back to Cancun again.  Next time with our timeshare weeks.  We are off to Costa Rica at Christmas and are looking forward to passing a good time.  Not all phone sales are scams.  The Sunset Group have put together a great package...  Good job....

Not sure if this is a scam or not but when I asked how he got my name, was told I had a excellent credit score. I was also told about filling out a form at Walmart. I never fill out anything. Weird.
Sounds like an excellent deal but when I told Jake that I would have to think about it, he became very rude and wanted to pass me over to someone else. Being a pro at these telemarketers, I told him don't not to bother, he basically hung up on me.
When are these companies going to figure it out? Everyone is sick to death of people calling us. No one should give these people any money. If their deals are so good and we are interested, then fedex the information and allow us to do our homework. Just maybe then we wouldn't mind talking to them on the phone on our time.

SOme people are soo stupid... This is a real offer. They use this as ahook to get you to sit through a time share presentation. I have used this method to cheap vacation for several years, as long as you are up fromt, and tell them you are not going to buymm, they let you sit through the meeting, and go on your way. SO many people looking for fools gold, and missing the real deals...

If someone entered my name in a draw, why do you not know my name? "That's just marketing" was the reply. That's just dishonest, is how I see it. I've worked at a time share resort (8+ years) and I'm sick of what some owners do to try to get out of their contacts, like sell their interests to shady telemarketing groups who pester people at home with unwanted, dishonest, and deplorable practices.
I know how timeshare works from the inside, and I hate to tell you but I book a room at the same rate as timeshare owners do. the only way to recover your investment in a time share is to sell your share. The room rental is the going hotel rate of the day. owner or not!!!! (don't forget to ask about your per diem charges when you buy in)

I get this call regularly at work. Usually I hang up, but today I actually listened to it all the way through. There is an opt-out option at the end of the call (they say you dial '9' to sign up for the offer, and '3' to decline it). I didn't actually hit the 3 to see if it works, but next time  I will.

Almost same comment as above commenters. While it may be legit (in terms of not being an outright illegal scam), the announcement the company made was that I won an all inclusive vacation. Meantime I have to get to Cancun or Costa Rico by myself, probably using their travel agency. Having worked for these companies (on my behalf I did not last too long, I heard so many lies from other salespeople on the floor and had to give such a hyped up delivery, knowing that by the time I got them all excited about it I had to then ask if they made enough money to qualify them, that I really didn't want any part of it) I knew that they have to hype you up and then sell you the "real deal." If I really won something I wouldn't be asked how much money I make, it's none of their business. If I can afford to go I should be able to go. But because they really want you to buy time shares they have to make sure it's worth their while to give you this prize package. LOL! Plus I knew without a shadow of a doubt that NO ONE entered me, in fact the automated call said someone in MY FAMILY entered my name & phone number. I'd like to know which one. Well then they should know what my name and phone number is instead of asking me for it. They should be able to tell me what store they got it from. When I really did win tickets somewhere to a show from an entry, they called and all I had to do was pick up my show tickets, I knew I entered and so was surprised only that I actually won something. My husband and some friends went to a country music show for free, compliments of the real store that had the entry box in it. It's such a scam because they don't tell the truth at the beginning, they probably get their lists from list services they pay for, even if you get there and sit through the sales pitch from RCI, because they start off with lies I won't listen. I can't stand that nonsense and I virtually told the rep that. I explained I used to work for those companies and I know everything he's going to tell me. Yes, some people go and actually enjoy it, some people will buy into the time shares, but the sales pitch to get you there is just ridiculous. But since people do buy, they do it & pay the telemarketers if they last that long to get a good one over on people. One time I had a girl (when I worked for a vacation company) who was so excited that she believed she won -- I felt sorry for her as I continued my pitch to this naive young lady, knowing she didn't "win" anything. She was so happy to think she won something. I didn't last long at this boiler room type company, I felt like dirt when I got to the part about how much money did she make? she regretfully said she didn't make anything close to that. to this day I feel bad about it, I'm going to ask God for forgiveness. I would NEVER do anything remotely close to that again.

The recorded message offered a low rate on a credit card with an option to press 9 to talk to a rep.  Pressed 9, stated that this was a call out of the blue and asked what company they represented.  I thought that it might be a legit call from my cc company.  They immediately hung up on me.
