Received call today - automated - hawking FHA loans (?).
Said to press 1 to see if you qualify.
Listened to end of message. Advised to press 2 to be removed from marketing list. Pressed 2. Line went dead.

Scam, scam, scam...They don't have any information about you or your vehicle. They are just trying to sell you an "extended factory car warranty", that you don't need. They are just reading you a sales script. They are not afiliated with your car manufacturer or dealership.

I was called from 702-520-9128... Upon googling the company, "Warranty Services" along with "702", it looks like it's a call centre set up in Las Vegas.

I am a single young professional. I live in Ottawa, Canada, and don't own a car. They called on my CELL phone, which isn't listed.

When I had the woman on the phone, I asked how they got my number, and she just kept apologizing and said she'd put me on their "do not call" list. I said that's great, but told her to stop apologizing and tell me how they got my number in the first place. She said they "get numbers from a number of different sources" and reiterated that she put me on the "do not call list" before hanging up on me.

When I tried to call back, it was just an automated voice that said "Thanks for calling back. If you want to be put on our do not call list, press 1" and if you don't press anything, it just repeats the message.

Sketchy as hell. I'm going to register a complaint on the government websites listed above. Why the hell are they calling me when I'm in Canada?!

Got a robo-call on my cell phone, saying this was the second notice I was receiving to sign up for, or renew (I forget which) the warranty on my car.  Smelled fishy, since I've never had a warranty beyond the one that came with initial purchase, and the message gave no hint they actually knew who I was, or anything about my car.  I hung up before message was completed.

Keep getting partial messages on my cell phone from this number.  All I get is "press two to respond to this offer."  I tried to block but it doesn't seem to be working.  Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

I received a call from this number (don't know if it's a spoofed caller ID though) on a Nextel mobile phone my employer issued to me, on the other end was a recording using high-pressure alarmist rhetoric telling me my auto warranty was about to expire. I hung up. I know there's no way my employer has that number associated with any vehicles in their fleet, and all my coworkers have received similar calls on their mobile phones too.

If you "press 2 to be removed from the list" it only validates your number and then they sell it to other scam/spam companies. You'll end up getting more solicitations. DON'T PRESS A BUTTON TO BE REMOVED! Just ignore it and it will go away. Or report it to the FCC (although I'm not sure if this does any good since they switch phone numbers so frequently).

Okay, calling the 888 number is kind of a waste of time.  I asked them to stop contacting me, and that I would give them my number to take me off their list.  I was told that they do not do outbound calls.  They have no idea what I'm talking about.  Just plain rude and called me names, that, when trying to get someones business isn't helpful.  Good Luck to all.

The number keeps calling my cell phone (At&t/Cingular).  This happens a few times a week.  I have never answered it and they don't leave a message.  I called it back and blocked my home number.  It was a female recorded voice "we are sorry if we reached your number in error, we only purchase and call business phone listings, if you would like you number to be removed, press 1".  I pressed 1, but as soon as I did it repeated the message.

I got a call from 702-520-1339.  My car warranty was about to expire..... So I played along and they did not want to give me any information.  Well I told them I wanted a warranty so they transferred me to their senior supervisor over car warranties and I asked them if I could call them back because my phone was not getting good reception.  They insisted on calling me back on my land line but I told them it was forwarded to my cell phone and I did not know how to take off call forwarding.

They hesitated and then gave me the information and I verified it and it works so here it goes:

Thanks for the insight guys.  T-Mobile customer, missed the call when it came last night, but was curious about who it was.  Buddy just suggested I do a Google search for the number . . . didn't even know you could do that, but here I am.  Anyway, luck to all.

I got another call(recorded) today about my warranty on my car expiring. It was on my cell phone.  I waited and got a person and was told it was from Warranty Services in Miami FL.  He wouldn't give me and address. I told him I was filing a FCC Complaint because I have repeatedly asked them to remove my name from a call list and they were calling a cell phone and using my minutes!!  Then I completed the online complaint form at

http://www.fcc.gov/cbg/complaints.html !!!!!!!!  Do this now!!!!!!
