My husband and I have been getting these calls on our cell phones also. I'm curious as to where they are getting our number. It seems that many of you have bought used cars. We have as well. We also fix our own cars. Do any of you? I'm wondering if they get our number from our parts place. Where do you all buy parts for your cars?

I got this call. They left some message about extending my cars warranty. It most be mass telemarketing bc I bought my car from an auction...

Got a couple of calls from this but no message - I usually check here now. This type of cold call to the cell phone is a waste of my time and connect time money (if I'm foolish enough to answer!).
Ratna 2011-06-06 20:54:26 Unknown
I am getting call from this everyday 4 to 6 times.

WTF 2011-06-06 20:54:26 Unknown
Got a call from them two days in a row and I don't answer numbers I don't recognize. Glad I didn't answer. What a waste of time. Cell Phones should be more private, ya know? It's like those text-message advertising that costs money to recieve and ya can't stop them.

They just called my cell phone again, even after I asked them to remove me from their list. I told the person who picked up the phone that I know they are not Hyundai and that I have the extended warranty from the manufacturer. I then demanded to know what the name of the Company was, and she said "I have taken you off the list, have a nice day" and hung up.
I will be filing a complaint with the FCC.

They keep calling my 10 yr. old daughter's cell phone (she's had her number for over 2 yrs), and I'm fairly certain she hasn't purchased a used car or auto parts!
JT 2011-06-06 20:54:26 Unknown
Me too, just got the call, I didn't answer tho. No message.
Chris 2011-06-06 20:54:26 Unknown
Every two days.... 6/07/2008 at 7:29PM...6/16/2008 at 12:47PM...6/16/2008...1:11PM...6/19/2008 at 5:27PM. I DON'T EVEN OWN A CAR. I live in a big city and take public transportation EVERYDAY. I would certainly tell them to have my name removed if the message didn't inadvertently hang up on me each and everytime I try to get through to a live person.

Got call on cell phone - didn't recognize number so ignored it, but have received a previous call on auto warranty from a different number. Annoying. If you want to talk to me and are calling from an odd number, guess you need to leave a message, 'cause I'm inclined to ignore the call and avoid paying for minutes!
Annie 2011-06-06 20:54:26 Unknown
Scam and a half. Same thing about auto warranty about to expire. If it's been about to expire for the last year then I guess I don't need to worry since it seems I still have it. I got the runaround when I tried to pin down the name of the company. She tells me warranty services division, I ask division of what company, she says that is the company. Like I said, scam and a half.
hollybear61 2011-06-06 20:54:26 Unknown
I don't bother answering calls that I don't know.. they'll leave a voicemail if it's important. If it's a service than I would be expecting it, and of course, spoke with the company before hand.
Not only do these people get paid to annoy people, there are those out there that are making money off of our numbers being sold.

Hmm. I just got this call as well. About 10 in the morning and my day to sleep in so I didn't bother answering. No VM left. I got a new used car as well. funny thing is, it's under my girlfriends name (i'm cosigner yeah my credit stinks) and they have my girlfreinds number. I get several of these extended warranty calls from differnet numbers. If my girlfriends info is on the car, why are they calling me and not her instead? How do they know I'm the one paying for the car? creepy if you ask me.
Someone Else 2011-06-06 20:54:26 Unknown
@TexasMom-- I keep getting these phone calls despite not having owned a car for several years. They're just grabbing whatever numbers they can find; they're not actually connected with anyone's auto dealer/mechanic/parts shop-- they just pretend they are as part of the scam. (They're probably auto-dialing all phone numbers, rather than relying on a list. It's not legal-- with either cell-phones or the DoNotCall list, but it's a scam anyway, so what do they care? A computer can try lots of phone numbers in rapid succession, and then just pass the ones where someone answers onto a "representative".)

I got a call from this number. They left no message and I tried to call back.
Reno 2011-06-06 20:54:26 Unknown
Add me to the just called list, the voice mail started in the middle of the pre-recorded message, "...extend car warranty. Press 1 for an agent, press 2 to close your file..." (or something to this affect..)
I pressed 7, delete. I will fill out the FCC form though...

Monday, 06/23/08 -- Yup -- same-old-same-old --- received a call today at ll:23 AM. They called on a new cell Phone # that my husband has had only for about a week or so. However, he DID buy a new truck about 2 years ago, and added an extended warranty, but the original warranty is set to expire soon and we HAVE been getting a lot of junk snail-mail about buying a new warranty. Maybe these creepy callers have the same access to folks whose warranties are expiring that their hard copy counterparts have.
B 2011-06-06 20:54:26 Unknown
They keep calling my cellphone even though I have told them to take me off their list repeatedly. Heck, my car is a 1995, leave me the heck alone! They've called from four other numbers with the same pitch, it is driving me nuts.

Just got a call from these people today. Now they are trying to sell foreclosure information. When I asked for a phone number, they gave me 800-328-3425, which turned out to be a phonesex line. They said they are located in st. petersburg florida, which I doubt, and the company name was freeforeclosurereport.net.
If anyone wants to start a class-action lawsuit against these companies, I'll join in.
