Caller message stated was calling about business credit card transactions - we DO NOT SELL ANYTHING, do not accept credit cards, press #2 to be removed - bet it does not work!!  Caller ID said "CELL  PHONE, NV"

If you call these scammers back, and press one, you will not be removed from any list. They will then know that yours is a valid number and they will sell it to other "telemarketers." You will then get more and more calls. The best thing to do is ignore calls from numbers you do not recognize, or block them.
BTW, this number now identifies itself as "Food Bank." It isn't, and it isn't in the 702 area code. The whole ID thing is "spoofed."

It's probably from at-home agents transferring calls around to each other.

As you get deeper and deeper they transfer you to a new person. The ask for your CC#, last four of your social, to record your voice, your telephone number, your address, and to make a third-party call to your bank. If you at anytime, you decide you are not interested they try to strong arm you into completing the transaction. Additionally, they may try to say that it's too late and you already agreed.

When you get to the last step they mention that your bank probably doesn't like third party calls and just to identify the person as your financial adviser.

I would suggest closing your accounts (anything revealed during the call) and monitoring your credit report.

Additionally, file an FTC complaint.

    After receiving numerous calls such as this over a long period of time, I decided

to do a little research into this and here is what I have found. YOUR TELEPHONE CARRIER

PAYS THESE PEOPLE TO CALL YOU!  Yes....you read right.  Your telephone company must pay

these people each time they call, EVEN IF YOU CHOOSE NOT TO ANSWER.
    
I will explain how this works.  Each telephone company maintains a database of all

its customer's telephone numbers along with the CALLER ID information associated with that

number. When you receive a call from a number originating from another telephone company,

your carrier pays a "DIP" fee to dip into the originating telephone company's database to

get the caller ID info to display on your phone. OK so how does this benefit the evil

telemarketer?
    
There are telephone companies that have set themselves up specifically to cater to

these telemarketers. They are not interested at all in having regular private subscribers

like you or I.  They have  a "revenue sharing agreement",(read kickback), whereby the

telephone company splits the dip fee with the telemarketer. They may even provide the

telemarketers with what they call "compliance assistance" i.e. "press 1 to be removed from

our calling list", but given that these telephone companies may have thousands of numbers in

many different area codes as well as hundreds of fly-by-night telemarketing subscribers who

are already operating outside the law, I seriously doubt that will have any effect at all.

Being as the dip fee is only a fraction of a cent per call, and the fee is split

between an evil telco and evil telemarketer, you can see why hundreds of thousands of calls

would be needed to make any money at this! But, again, they are making money just by

calling your phone and annoying you. If they happen to actually sell something, well that

is just gravy.

This will only continue until the FCC decides to regulate the dip fees practice of

the telephone carriers.

After several calls to my phone and my being on the national do not call list, I contacted the State Attorney General's Office. After a pleasant conversation with them they are going to try to confirm that the call was placed from that number. If it was, I will be filing a small claims court suit agaist the company. I was told that it could cost the company approximately $2000 in fines plus court costs.

The call is coming from (702) area code (NEVADA)  we are in the (CA).

I DIDN't GIVE"SANDY" a chance to go into her SPIEL BOGUS story...

TOLD HER TO REMOVE OUR NUMBER......failure will result in the AUTHORITIES contacting them directly....since I NOW have their contact number...

Don't bother pressing "1" to get them to remove your name. Believe me, you can wait until doomsday and they'll never remove it. They're a scam and are criminals. If you have phone block, block the number. If you don't, consider buying a phone with phone block or ask your telephone company about theirs - most will allow you to block about 30 numbers.

Put a complaint to the FTC in DC. They will give you Action# But Yes I know they wont do anything but maybe after enough complaints these politicians will do something!!!!
Also report the number to the National Do Not Call website at https://complaints.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx.
Unless you change your number they will keep calling. They will use spoofed callerID#. My favorite is the number 1, you can't even block this number or report it!!!

This company just called back with a recorded message (illegal!) AFTER I called back and hit option #1 to be removed from call list. I registered a complaint W/Fed Do Not Call.

If you call back and hit the #1 to be put on Do Not Call list that generally indicates to telemarketers that the number is GOOD and they will keep calling. This number needs to be reported ASAP.

It is a marketer. Call back and press 1. Will see if they stop calling.

I  got onhis phone call this morning. And noone answer when I said hello.

I did gave them an earfull last night told them in four different languges put it where the sun dont shine and hang up on there *A

Two lost calls from this number to my cell phone. Did not leave any message.

This number called me today.

She said that I have won a $250 shopping spree because I have signed up with some of her affiliate publishers. I asked who were her affiliates. With a rude tone she told me different magazines and books. I said I didnt sign up with any magazines and books, I don't want her prize, and I want to be removed from her calling list. She hung up on my face.

There was a lot of background noise, the lady did not speak in proper grammar, she had a major attitude, and her words were jumbled. This is obviously a scam because they are so unprofessional on the phone.

All u have to do to make it stop is call the # back and it gives u the option to be put on their "DO NOT CALL" list. Option #1 is to remove. And if someone is calling and u don't know them call them back but before u dial their # dial *67. That blocks them from seeing u and u can just hang up if its not someone u want to talk to.

Just received a call from this number. Answered but no one was on the line. Called back, recvd recording about 'press one if you are not interested in receiving calls'. Did not identify the company

Called back - some message about being removed from their call list - pressed 1 to be removed per the recorded message. Not sure if that was the correct thing to do...........but............Ugh I hate these darn calls

If you can get this number to along with 703 656 9861 to quit calling it would be greatly appreciated!  If you could help them go out of business I would like that too (was that language OK? :-)

Been getting this calls for over a week now. They started calling wanting to talk with my 4 year old daughter. What business would anybody have with a 4 year old? And what business does a 4 year old get in for this people to be calling? Im a stay at home mother so its not like they are calling for money. We dont get any mail other than our monthly bills. These people have been calling my home 6 or 7 times a day. Whats the deal?

This number calls me 1-2 times a day and I do not answer. It says it is from las vegas.

They asked for me by name & wanted to talk about my "Star" magazine subscription, which I told them.I don't have  nor did I want to order it. They hung up. I'm quite sure they'll call again regarding some other made up excuse.
Just last week, I got a bill for Redbook magazine- no, I didn't order that one either. I think they just robi-call until someone just sends them the money thinking a relative had ordered something for them.

Call the number back and hit option 1.  It will add you to the "DO NOT CALL LIST."  It will take up to 72 hours to be removed, so don't be surprised if you get a couple more calls.

got request for someone i get calls for occasionally who must have had my number more than 10 yrs ago. told them to remove my number and they hung up.

Received 7 calls from this number, about once per day.

Auto-reject list is an excellent cell phone tool, I suggest people use it!

I keep getting calls from this number. I have no idea who it is and there is never anyone on the other end when I answer. I think it might be connected to a Facebook hoax that I was dumb enough to respond to about a free pair of Toms Shoes. It asked for my cell number and email and I put in both, then realized it was a hoax but it was too late.

Same thing is happening to me as well, so i just dotn pick up the phone when the call anymore....i just hope they stop calling me
