Unknown Caller

phishing scam.

said 2 to be removed and 1 to lower my credit card rate. I pressed 1 to see what would happen and got an operator - when I asked who this was she hung up.

This is a phishing scam - be ware they will try and get your personal info.

They called my work number, I pressed 1 and a guy picked up. I asked what card they were calling about, and he hung up. I guess they did not want to lower my rates??? Why the hell did they call then? I called the number, and a message said, thank you for calling back, if you are not interested in recieving these calls please press 1. SCAM!!!!!

I NEVER answer calls from numbers I don't recognize. I let the answering machine pick up. When it did pick up, the caller hung up.

The call came in on my work number.  When I answered it was a recording from Cardholder Member Services asking me if I would like to lower my rate.  I stayed on the line and a man came on and asked if I was calling because I wanted to lower my rate.  I said "Well, your computer called me".  He then hung up on me.  I called the number back and the recording tells you to press 1 to be removed from marketing calls, thanks you then disconnects you (even when you don't press any numbers.  No way to get to a live person. Who is this company??

Sounds like a robo call operation.  They identify themselves as "Card Services," make it sound like they have some valid reason for calling about a loan or credit card balance, and then they hang up when asked to identify themselves.  I called the number back and pressed 1 to be taken off their call list...but I have my doubts about whether it will do any good.

This kind of thing should be illegal and shut down.  Anyone with ideas about how to make that happen has my support!

They have called me twice today. First time went to my voicemail an no message was left. Second time I answered and caller hung up.

Called and since I do not answer calls from numbers I don't know it went to voice mail and they did not leave a message!

It was a recording of someone named Rachael from Credit Card Services who offered to lower my interest rates.

I pressed 2 so that I would no longer receive these types of notices and was disconnected. Can they obtain any personal information or charge my mobile phone account based on that action?

credit services call - have repeatedly asked to be removed from their list.
