OMG...I have been getting these calls which started last week, however when they call I am always at work.  Today I took a half day, and I saw on my caller ID KBL 702-553-0509 had called at noon, I tried calling the number back, but it just rang and rang.  Then at 6:30 EST..the phone rang again with that same number listed, So I answered.  A woman with an accent (sounded asian) asked to speak to ToniLynn, I asked who was calling she said KeyBank. I then began to ask her what she was calling in regards to and she stated in regards to ToniLynn's Visa ending in 2537.  I told her that I was Toni and she proceeded to say Since you've been such a good customer, we would like to reward you for using your Visa.  They wanted to send me a $50 gas card, and long distance cards etc.. however there was a charge of $1.05 for the shipping.  Then it was my turn..I asked her where she got my credit card number from? She told me from a marketing group, and I asked who, her reply was Barnes & Noble.  So I thought for a second, because I have used my card there (however last year), and they wouldn't have my phone number due to the fact that I just changed it 2 months ago to Vonage, and it is unlisted.  She then told me that she got my phone number from another marketing group.  Well then I started asking her the same questions over to see what her response would be, and now she was calling from Key Benefits and she was in NY and then she hung up on me!  Well I called my Bank right away and explained to them what happened. I also got online to see my banking transactions, wouldn't you know it there was a charge on there for $1.05.  I did not authorize this at all.  The card is now canceled, and Bank of America is now aware of what is going on.  I will be giving them all this information on Monday (in order to press charges for Fraud, the charge has to clear my bank first).  As I was reading what others have wrote, I saw something in common with another person.  I ordered something from www.AsSeenontvnetwork.com (LegMagic)

5/28/2007 @5:47PM

This is just one of many calls received from KBL during the past two weeks. I have also been called from 901 area code. I usually don't answer; but when I do, there is generally background noise (sometimes sounds like children), finally the caller asks for me and states they are calling concerning my Visa card. Caller states the last four numbers on the card. I cut them off, so don't know what they might proceed to from there. These calls are a true annoyance--sometimes several per day--and I am on Missouri's NO Call list.

There is something very suspicious going on with this type of activity and it is getting worse by the hour it would seem.
The fact that I am receiving calls both at home and on my cell phone from the same company is very disturbing. I use TWC digital phone service at home and Verizon Wireless for my wireless com needs.
I understand that these two very large companies are made up of individuals from a wide variety of backgrounds and represent a widespread demographic. However, what SOMEONE in these companies is doing is illegal
and the companies must be held accountable. These reports need to be made to the people at the top of these companies...not the clerk that answers the phone when you call them. For all we know that clerk is the one that is selling our info to the highest bidders.

Question does any of you have Vonage as you phone company, maybe that is where they are getting all Credit card last 4 digits from. I say that because only 2 people have my #, and if Vonage is selling it, then I am going to file a law suit aginst them.

They called on 5/25/2007.  The minute I pick up the phone they hang up.  usually every two hours.  This is the fourth number they have tried calling through on.  Pac-west is selling people's phone numbers, how they got them I do not know.  There number is 1-877-626-4325 or abuse@pacwest.com.  They are responsible for starting this.

In the last 4 days I've received 1 call from each of all 3 numbers appearing in these complaints: 702-553-0509; 901-562-1601; 414-208-1038. I don't answer and they leave no message.

I ordered Hercules Hooks as well; about 4 months ago. The ordering process went through an automated system. One question was "Would I like to have access to free Hercules Hooks for life; paying only shipping and handling?" I accidentally answered yes instead of no. There was absolutely no mention of further access to my checking account without my explicit permission. 60 days later there was a deduction for $5.99 from my checking account. I called them and was told I had agreed to this amount being deducted from my account EVERY 60 days for my lifetime (can you imagine?)I disagreed and was told to email or send my request in writing. I emailed them in March and got a reply saying the situation was remedied. I've seen no other deductions as of yet.

Since this is obviously related to Hercules Hooks (I think they identify their manufacturing company as KBL on the commercials) I plan on making a complaint to the Better Business Bureau.

I had the same situation. A lady with an India accent called and told me about how such a loyal and great customer i am. She then told me i will receive a 50$ gas card for free to pay a 1.95 fee to send it as well. After asking her how it is for free if im still paying she then made crude farting noises into the phone.

Some old lady called me from 702-553-0509 talkin' about is "Steven" there, im' like no and i had to tell her twice, and i hung up on her, so my advice is to not even answer calls that you don't even know who they are from. I just let it vibrate now cause my time is valuable for them to waste. Take Care EVERYONE

A gentleman claiming to be from Key Benefits Limited called and wanted to send a gift regarding the use of my Visa card.  Because they had called in the past without leaving a message, I had already seen the postings in this discussion after searching the name and number on my caller ID.  It is exactly how others have discribed.  A man with a very thick Asian accent telling me that he wants to send a gift.  I asked what city the guy was calling from and he indicated New York, NY.  I asked the address of the business and he declined to give it to me.  I told him that he was a fraud and that the phone call was to scam me.  He disagreed and asked me if I had a Visa.  I declined to give that information.  After the call I immediately called my bank where I do have a debit card.  They said that they never outsource services like that and I was right to not give this man any information.  I sent a note to the Department of Justice.  Hopefully they can put a stop to it.

Repeated phone calls from a women with a foreign accent.  She uses doesn't use my legal name, which would be with the card, but the shorter version of it.  After fielding about 10 calls she hung up on me this afternoon, then called right back and said "F**k you bi****.  I called the number but got a generic voice mail.

The call details are absolutely the same as everyone else receiving a phone call from these people.  They will only identify themselves with bogus business names. They will not acknowledge that you understand they have an accent which is from India. As soon as you tell them they are illegally calling your home, acquiring data which may not be valid and to take your name off of their list - they hang up on you.  They continue to call and will not cease.

They called again today this time from the 414 number.  Because I had read this post the day before I was prepared for them. A man with a foreign accent said because I was a loyal Visa customer they were going to reward me with a free gas card for a nominal fee of 1.95.  All I needed to do was confirm my address.  I asked him where he was calling from and he said KDL Industries in NY NY.  I asked him if he could confirm my card number but he said all he had was the last 4 digits.  He wanted to give me a toll free 866 number to call after I recived my free gift in the mail.  I asked him where he got my phone number from and he said one of their trusted marketing partners.  I asked who that was so that I could no who sold my number to them.  I told him that I was aware of their scam because people were talking about them on the internet and he tried to assure me it was not a scam.  He was persistent but I would not give him any information and hung up after about 5 minutes of trying to get info.

I could hear sounds like a party in the background.  There were a lot of people talking.  I kept saying hello, but noone answered.  My cell phone is not in my name and is registered on the "Do Not Call List".  If this is a telemarketing firm, it is the second time in 2 weeks that I've had phone calls from telemarketers who love to break the law.  The phone calls I got 2 weeks ago were from Montana and they had the last 4 of my debit card and said they were calling from Master Card.  They also told me that Master Card wanted to reward me for handling my account so well.  I gave a full report to my bank.  They are investigating the phone numbers and cancelled my old debit card.  I now have a new card.
should we give any more info?

I received a call that I had seen previously on the caller id a few days before.  I answered with the intention of the usual "take us off the list."  The man with a foreign accent asked for me by name.  I replied "who's calling"?  He advised he was with a banking institution.  I questioned what this was pertaining to?  He replied my VISA.  What VISA would that be?  The one ending in ####.  Which happened to be the exact last four digits of our joint check card!  With total shock I asked, "And how did you get that?"  He hung up.  I tried several times to call the number back and no answer.  I looked the number up on Google and was devastated at what I found (I was not the only one)  http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-702-553-0509

I called my card company to advise someone may have our account number.  He mentioned they were probably just fisching.  Most transactions xxxx-(last four digits of your card) and they cant see them.  But, we cant be too careful.  Therefore I canceled my card and will have to call the bank in the am to get a new one issued.  3 weeks or more.  Just what we needed... more drama.

Please be careful
And don't answer calls from KBL on your cell or home phone.

This is a scam!!!! I have a list of 23 documented phone calls since February 10, 2007. They call me at least once a day on my cell which is listed on the Do Not Call Registry, each time it is a different # that they are calling from. It is always a man with an undetermined accent calling, he makes reference to my MasterCard with the last 4 digits of XXXX, that card is my bank debit card!!!! I called the bank and supplied them with the phone log I've been keeping. I hope they catch these people.
