I got a call at 1:09 a.m., and the caller ID just showed the number 1407. They hung up before I answered. It seems strange to me that there were only 4 digits in the number. This afternoon I had a similar call, with not enough digits to be a regular number. It was from 135727659. Any ideas?

how true, how true! i got the same attitude when i insisted that they send me a pledge card. he insisted that i give him my credti card # i told him that was the method that scammers use and that he was not being professional. i also told him that i would let the better business bureau know about them and if they were if fact legitimate, he had nothing to worry about. he cursed me and hung up. i agree, NEVER give out your personal information to anyone over the phone.

The caller told me to be sure to check my smoke detector batteries. I asked him who was calling and he said the Professional Firefighters Association. He then hung up. I won't be answering that number again.

They have called weekly for months. They are a hoax charity and should be made to stop.

I get calls in waves from this number (and daily recently) and I ignore them.  I did dial *67 (to block my number from their caller ID) and it's the American Association of Troopers, Inc.  I donated several years ago because my uncle, aunt, and cousin were all state troopers, but my uncle (who is very involved in organizations) never heard of them.  I'm sure they're soliciting for donations.

These people have been calling us on a daily basis for weeks, we don't answer. When will they give up and stop calling! I thik I made the mistake of making a donation a few years ago to the state troopers but we lived in another state and now they're calling me from the state we moved to.We're even on the no call listing, how can we report them?

I have asked them not to call, on my last donation. They are relentless,
EVERY evening. Why don't they realize that they are not making any friends
by calling people at dinner times and bed times? Not that they want any
"friends" but it just makes people angry!!

Received call from this number/group and let it go to answering machine.  Listened to message and it sounded like they were on a cell phone in a vehicle.  Did not leave any voice message, just a bunch of noise and then hung up.

St Troopers raising funds, gave once and asked to be removed from list and they keep on

I just got a call forwarded to my google one number, and google allows me to block numbers. It will then tell then that the number is out of service or doesn't exist.....that should be interesting!

My call was from Searchlight, NV.

It is sad that trust is all gone because of people like this!

We continuously get calls from  702-554-1407.  Have repeatedly asked them not to call us again.  
They said they wanted to thank us for our check  (which we have never sent them).  So, they are not
afraid to lie.  I am on every Do Not Call list I can find and am still harassed.

Got call from this # last night and they asked for a Mrs Taylor. Told them they have a wrg # and to stop calling. I calls all the time for Mrs Taylor. Caller told me maybe I could help them. I have had similiar calls asking for this Lady and they have turned out to be sales pitches but I believe it is a scam. I told caller I was not interested and to stop calling me and I hung up on them.

I got a couple of calls from this number. I didn;t answer and thy didn't leave a message. That is why I googled the number to find out who it was. Now I know. I am going to put them on my blocked call list.

I have received several calls from this number in the past several weeks. When I answer, the call is disconnected. I have identified this and other telemarketing numbers in my phone contact list as DNA1, DNA2, where the DNA stands for....you guessed it 'Do Not Answer'. I am up to DNA7. As I am a business, I don't want to add my number to the Do Not Call list, so the DNA was my way of dealing with it and knowing not to pick up the call. Now, I just decline/ignore the call.

Receive repeated calls from this number asking for a Mr. or Mrs. Black.  If I am nice, they say they are from  some state trooper charity and if I ask questions about them they usually hang up on me.

Received a call on 8/04/2010 from 'AASTNV' @ 702-554-1407 (Las Vegas, NV area code).
The caller asked  for me by  my first name, then said he was from a Nevada State Troopers' organization.
I asked why I was being bombarded with calls from FOP, and now AASTNV.  He didn't answer the question, and went on to say that one reason for his call was to remind me not to drink and drive.
I said I don't drink, then he went on to tell me what a tragedy it is that children are being victimized, at which point I told him that this didn't sound like any kind of legitimate call, and hung up.
The AASTNV caller sounded like he was making up the spiel as he went along.  He had an accent, and spoke hesitantly, almost in a monotone, as if he was trying to remember a script.

Received a call from this number 702-554-1407.  The person answered aftr second hello, but I be darned if I know what he said.  His voice was so garbled.  He did adk for my huband first.  Told him he was not available.  The voice said something about Idaho and hung up.  We are on the "DO NOT CALL LIST"

I just got a call from them tonight. I answered the phone and this guy says my first name. I say yes and he takes a breath, lets it out and hangs up. Same info on the caller id, and I'm also on the do not call list. I just signed up again 2 weeks ago.
I do live in NV. northern Nevada.

I just received a call from AASTNV 702-554-1407 and they had my street address.  Don't like this.  I just put my number in the national Do Not Call registry.  https://www.donotcall.gov/
