See if you can get your employer to install a call-blocker.

Call blocker might be your best bet.  They are scammer/extortionists working out of India.

I received an email with the following message:

Hi this is captain Mark White from federal Crime Enforcement Network and i am trying to reach you because there is arrest warrant is file against your name and this is the do or die situation for you regarding your overdue balance.If you want you can resolve this issue or else you gonna be arrested for next two year in to federal jail.

I have been getting e-mails and calls from these people for two months now. I applied for a quick loan on line and then decided not to get it. Now I get calls all the time. They even call my job and tell them I am going to be arrested on my job. I am so lucky for my understanding boss. They just tell them I no longer work there and they still call. I dont know what to do about this. any suggestions?

Same thing here.  Applied for payday loan on line and now this.  It's not just this jack***--there are many like him.  How annoying.  Hard to tell who I really owe money to and who is just trying to steal it from me!

I just got an email from this jack*** too.  I am so angry.  I applied for a payday loan over a year ago.  Now this crap never stops.  I am so grateful for 800notes.  I have this type of thing happen in the past and, sadly, I panicked and paid them.  Shame on me.   No more!  Thank you for posting.

told this guy calling from the California police department he sounds like a terrorist and he laughs and hangs up. call back next day leaves this message...This is what the v-mail says

THEY CALL EVERY COUPLE DAYS STATING THEY ARE FROM FEDERAL CRIMINAL DEPT TO COLLECT A DEBT AND IF I DONT PAY THEY WILL PUT ME IN JAIL FOR 30 YEARS AND ALL MY INFORMATION WILL BE MADE PUBLIC AND I WILL NOT BE ABLE TO USE MY SOCIAL SECURITY CARD EVER AGAIN. THEY ARE SCAM ARTIST AND SPEAK MORE SPANISH THEN AMERICAN AND I HARDLY UNDERSTAND HIM.

This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.

I received an e-mail from someone claiming to be Captain Mark White.  The Heading on the e-mail was "Final Notification before Arrest."  Here is the body of the e-mail:

Just outrageous.  I had contacted some payday lenders on-line and I believe they sell your information and that is how these places get your e-mail address.  LOL.....I am sure that if I were about to be arrested by the Federal Crime Enforcement Network they would send me an e-mail first!

I received a message left on my home phone today 05/23/14 when I got back from work.  A gentlemen voice with very heavy Indian accent saying "...Calling from State police dept, dept 32 and I had a complaint against my name D Nguyen filed with dept...I Mark White will file this complaint. ... To reach dept discuss about this file 702-609-9301, and don't try to disregard this message.

Same one. They can't type very well and its always for the same day and the same amount no matter who they are trying to contact.

I got this message in my voice mail from the same guy with a very strong indian accent.
I  tried to reach the  number 702 609 9301 and  it said cant be completed as dialed. SAME NAME , SAME PH# too.

This morning while I was on the computer, a guy phoned saying "this is John and I see that you have a problem with your computer" so I said to him I dont a problem w/ my computer and I dont need your help and hang up on him.

These people must have a lot of time in their hands!!!

Yes I have also received this email as well, twice. The last one today as of 7 April 14. I think for a true legal action to take place an email is not the way to go by it, but certificated mail. So anyone else receive one from a so call Captain Mark White, delete.

With a letter saying I owed $987.00 and its dated 2/26/2014 that doesn't have my name on it at all.  Its crazy that people can do this.  Someone needs to stop these people.

Received the email - it was also sent to at least 30 people listed almost all being @yahoo.com- he must be a busy person.  I returned the email saying he would be contacted by the proper authorities.-where are they getting these names from, I do not have a yahoo email address.

Did you notice on the email that they do not mention your name, and the amount seems to be the same as others. Please do not fall for this, it is illegal and a scam.

I received the same email. I called the number and got a man with a foreign accent. I have talked to him before, but with a different number. That number originated from Florida and this one comes from Nevada. He said I owed $987.00 and I knew it wasn't legitimate. Had the name of Section Attorney: George Wallace on the document! I guess this is supposed to make it seem true and legal?!.  Stuff like this makes me very angry!

I just received the same email. It was dated Feb 26, 2014. It said the same thing as above. These people needs to stop, I am getting tired of getting the phone calls. One even called me at work and I told him to get his facts straight because I am still out and still working. I waited for 3 hours one day at work and no one showed up to arrest me. What a crock of crap.

I received the same email and he spelled fraud wrong,  It is the same otherwise from Captain Mark Smith.  Please DO NOT SEND MONEY OR CALL THEM.  They are scum...
