Wow I am sooo glad I checked this out. I have listings on Craigslist. I had an overwhelming response to them.
But 3-4 of the E-mails were EXACTLY worded the same. Also with the bad grammar and poor spelling. Also claims to be deaf. This person wanted me to handle his payments and forward to a third party. I got suspicious and contacted local police.Their advice; If you are the seller, then you should ONLY be receiving
payment for the goods, plus shipping. To protect yourself, only take the specified amount. Be sure it's a Money gram or Western Union money transfer to YOU. Most folks who are legit won't mind. and if they're local buyers, cash works too! Good luck to all!

The same scam for the same listing on craigslist. Do they think I am stupid or something? They all live in Las Vegas is that the only city they know. All willing to pay the high price and not get me to lower the price. I have gotten 5 of these, all different names on their email accounts, almost all gmails and sadly probably active accounts.
If it sounds too good to be true it is. IN GOD WE TRUST, ALL OTHERS PAY CASH!!!

The scammers usually insist on "No PO Box" in their emails, so they can avoid mail fraud charges.

This guy picked up a post I had on craiglist for a very, very large kitchen item and same story, same bad writing and sending "cerified bank check" which banks don't even issue anymore. Not enough call for it. I will report to craigslist this scam. So same story:

I also got a reply on craigslist saying the same thing as all the rest, only in mine he said he was deaf and could only email or text. The next day i got the same thing from a guy named Micheal Roland but had the same address and phone number. Karma will get this guy!

Got a reply to a Craigslist ad on the internet just exactly like the one above.  I didn't give him a real address.  Seemed too bizarre.  Gave him my PO Box and then checked his phone number on the net.  Good thing.  Something sounds too good just is too good.

Clues that this is a scammer:  
- refuses to meet you in person
- insists on "no PO box"
- communicates only by email or text, can only be texted, refuses voice contact, claims to be deaf
- uses the term "advert" instead of ad
