I got the same scam last night.  This number texted an offer to buy some jewelry off southeasttexas.com for double the asking price plus money for the movers.  After reading comments, I will turning anything I get over to authorities.

Got a text from this same person, offering to pay me $100 extra to hold my stuff on SETX.com. As soon as I asked if I could call to talk to him in person he stopped texting... One of my closest friends is a cop so I called him and he said there isn't anything we can do about it because this person didn't actually do anything yet... He just offered to pay for something I have for sale...

Received same email about furniture on southeasttexas.com. Offered cashier check to donsider it sold. After reading thei I replied no thanks scammer!!

Same number text me about a pitching machine. It is a scam and when I said that to him he just starting using foul language and he misspelled several words in our conversation also.

Posted a canon lens for sale on southeastexas.com and received a text from 702-625-4069. Said he would buy the lens and pay me an extra 50 dollars to pay his movers when they came to pick it up. He said his namewas James bill but when I asked him to call me he wouldn't. He misspelled words so I'm assuming hhe's from another country. Needless to say I could tell he was a petty scam artist and Ireported him to the fFBI internet fraud department.

This same guy just called my friend trying to do the same thing for her washer and dryer. Same phone number and same name Richard Bill, someone needs to do something about this. It is obviously one person in Henderson Nevada and her's too was on SoutheastTexas.com. It stated it was a google phone subscriber when she called the number back.

Exactly.  They don't want your furniture, just your money.  There are no "movers" or "shippers"- that's just another persona for the scammer.

I just received a text offer from this number offering to pay $50 over asking for some furniture. He promised to send a check and after the check cleared and he'd send his workers.

I offered a PayPal transaction, which he refused because he works "out at Sea as an oceanography (sic)" and doesn't have internet. Which is odd because that was the only way to find our furniture.

I asked his name and email. The only thing he provided was his name "Richard Bill"...odd. I asked his address and he said he didn't know which one to give "cos am currently at work". I asked him his home address. No response. I texted him back and said "no deal".

Thanks to all of you, we realized its a scam. I've reported this to the local police.

i will be ignoring him I knew something was not right

Got a text from 702 625 4069 . . . I have a table and chairs for sale on Southeasttexas.com. I have been through this before so I recognized it as a scam. I will not respond this time.

got a rexr from 702 625 4069 intersted in buying an item i had for sale on craigs listwanted to send me triple the amount i was asking for inconvience and balance ti shipper i knew he a scammer got took once before by someone else same wayt

TOTAL scam, had some "free" legos that I was gonna grab for my daughter and said I had to pay his "movers" 150 for delivery!!

This just happened to me today.  And when I told them that the check would have to clear before table was released and had to be on a local bank because I had no bank account, they had the nerve to tell me I should give them account info for someone close to me so that they could cash the check.  

Then after I did not respond for like an hour, I get another text with the same exact starting question  "Solid wood table for sale?"

I am selling a puppy. SCAM of this number sending texts that they are sending check for puppy!

hi i to was selling a item and i got a random text and it stated they would pay me my asking price on my item plus send me extra money to send to his movers and the info to do so and i did i got my money out of it and sent off the extra as he asked, the very next day i got a text saying he needed me to send the money rite back due to the fact his wife had ben in a car accident the evening before and needed to pay the hospital bill but he stated he would send me another check out the same day which made no sence to me if you had the money to send out to me which would of ben the second check you have the money to pay the supposed bill just wanted to share my story

Same as above.  Selling a piece of furniture for $150.  Asked to accept a check $2340.  Said movers would come by after I cashed the check.  Obviously something is off.  Called my bank and the check is a scam - not real.  Had I cashed it and paid movers then I would be out that money.

Selling a piece of furniture..contacted by text. Asked to accept  a check for twice the amount . Very strange.  Text stated after i cashed the check the movers would come by a collect the furniture.  Seems like a fraud/ scam.
