If you got a call from this number or frequently get these types of calls I would suggest asking yourself if there is anyone who has a grudge against you. I've been cyber stalked, hacked and harassed by a Georgia based con artist and serial cyber stalker named Mike Smeth for nearly 2 years now.

Prior to him defrauding me out of thousands of dollars I had never recieved a call like this. Since then I've received well over 100. I strongly believe he may have submitted my number to scammers or may be running the scams himself. It wouldn't surprise me - the fraudster is a former meth addict who appears on mugshotsonline and makes a living by defrauding people out of money and then terrorizing his victim's lives through a computer.

He additionally lives on my home network and launches attacks at anything with an electronic pulse (DoS, MITM, etc). He's also hacked, cyber stalked and harassed family members, friends and business partners. We unaffectionatly refer to him as the "Jeffrey Dahmer" of hackers. Getting away with crime isn't enough for him, he has a sick desire to terrorize his victim's lives.

I've also received non-stop harassing and malicious texts in addition to spoofed calls pretending to be law enforcement and voice mails featuring nothing but computer keystrokes. I decided enough was enough and decided to go through my phone records and leave this post under all the malicious calls I've received since Smeth began his cyber stalking campaign against my life on 4/22/11 (day he defrauded me then proceeded to attempt to blackmail me into signing documents that would absolve him of defrauding me out of well over $25,000).  

Just a thought. I felt my story was worth mentioning. You can never be to safe when it comes to technology in the year 2013. Criminals have ditched the real world for cyber space. Good luck and I hope your situation isn't as bad as mine :) If it is as bad don't be afraid to stand up for yourself, you have the right to be left alone.

P.S. - One of Smeth's fictional online personas may leave a comment after this comment to harass me into hiding but I've absolutely had it with this sociopathic cyber stalking con artist. I even had to stop using Facebook and Twitter as a result of being harassed by his army of fictional people. Also, he may ask to have this comment removed as a result of having malicious access to my browsing history. Whatever you do DO NOT take this comment down. This call has a loud ship sound ans says, "hello this is your captain calling..". The say I will win a cruise if I answer 10 questions. They say this is a public opinion poll.  I hung up. I have been getting alot of calls lately, someone has sold/given my cell number away. I block/reject list  the number and they come back with a different number a few days later. Where is the FTC, when you want them.

This call has been coming to me for years from all different numbers ("honk, this is your captain".  The latest is 702-705-5316.  

The company that is making these calls goes by a lot of names, including but not limited to:

I just received a call from that number. After I answered the questions they connected me to an operator. The operator then ask me for my name and zip code. Then the sick perv asked if I can suck a d*** ?! Who are these people?

Hi- I did answer all of the questions but now worried. Not sure how they can use if I have a mtge or not and my age for hacking into my life... Did you get your ID stolen through all this? I asked what it was for when they connected me and she said that they're doing a promo to fill up cruise ships...

I  Got a call from 702-705-5316  didnt answer it then my wife received one on her cell phone, I called it back and it said it was from verizon, but  the recording also stated that the number could not be conected as dialed. I am current with my bill.

Me too, calls from both of these numbers on my emergency cell phone.

same Cruise cr@p as the many, many others I've gotten.  Usually Call Control blocks these before I pick up the phone.

This starts out as, "Hello, this is your captain speaking".  Get these all the time.  Normally, my Call Control app blocks these before I get them.  This must be a new one.

Same as above did not leave a message and cant call number back, get message can't complete number as dialed.

Just called. Didn't answer left no message. Tried to call back its a fast busy signal.   Also, I am on do not call list as of yesterday. Strange!

Talked to a cell phone server. DO NOT answer, they traced the number and confirmed that the caller(s) are looking for smart phones to answer or call them back,  They then access you personal info...and you're toast.

I keep receiving calls from this number 702-705-5316. I want them to STOP!
